Once again they saved my dogs life. Bandit had simple bloat and caught it in time before his stomach turned. They also saved him from a copperhead bite. This vets and staff are fantastic.

They were able to cut my new dog's nails without anesthesia after two groomers had failed! He got his shots and they gave me a comprehensive supplement for his arthritis as well. He met me at the door as a very happy dog! Here he is right after his visit.

We are new to the practice and couldn't have been happier. The check in process was smooth. The waiting room is both comfortable and large. It easily handles multiple animals without them being in too close proximity. Dr. Fox was wonderful. It's obvious she loves animals. I felt heard and she kept costs in mind when making recommendations for treatment. I will definitely be returning with the rest of our crew!

Our senior cat has been a patient here since we moved here last July. On our most recent visit she needed a renal panel done to which we agreed. When she was returned, after the panel, she had feces all over her and the only thing the vet tech offered was a clean puppy pad to go in the carrier. My wife and I were both extremely upset by the lack of compassion and will not be returning with our other catsEDIT: Dr. Anna did call and ensure us that she would speak with the vet tech responsible and offered her sympathy over our cat passing

We are visiting from PA and our dog got a mysterious deep cut on his thigh. We knew he would need stitches and called so many places to try to get him in. Ocean Isle understood our worry and took action to get our dog in same day as a new client. Highly recommend this veterinary hospital as the whole experience will leave you reassured your fur baby is taken care of. Dr. Fox is amazing, understanding and will do what is needed to help your pet. Savannah at reception is so kind and helpful and went above and beyond to get our dog in.So thankful and grateful for this place!

Very over-priced. They constantly try selling services. I brought my dog in for urinary tract infection urinalysis. They kept him there for 5 hours. Said he needed x-rays. When I picked him up, he was saturated in his own urine. I made a scene in their waiting room. A vet tech took him in back and wiped him down. I had to bathe him when we got home. I took him there 3 times for urine tests and each time the vet couldn't see bacteria in his urine until the last time when I paid for x-rays. Do not take your pet there. They are interested in your money, not your pets.

Sooo i took my dog Kapone in this morning for a checkup for his leg. Unfortunately I didn't very good news, he's got a mass on his chest , amongst other things. Dr. Anna was so good, kind and very thorough. Heather , the vet tech was amazing as always . She sat with me as I cried and cried and was very compassionate. I will forever take my animals there and trust that they will do the very best. Thank you to all the staff for being so kind in this difficult time for me.

Since ZERO stars isn’t possible…. One will have to do.Note to all…6 of the last 10 reviews for the OIB Vet Hospital are 1 star out of 5…. ONE STAR !!!SHAME ON OIB VET HOSPITAL !!!I brought my Best Buddy in for the 3rd time within the past 9 months (April, July and again today) to be informed that services would not be provided without payment in full. I offered a $100 deposit, with a promise to pay the full balance 5 calendar days (3 business days) later, when my disability payment will be received.Bad business practice!!!SHAME ON OIB VETERINARY HOSPITAL !!!I’ll be taking my business elsewhere.

Me and my wife are so grateful we found ocean isle vet. Hospital. We know are pets have great people caring for them any time they need them. Highly recommend!!!!

Awesome, caring staff and Dr. Worel. We had just moved here and not established veterinary care yet. My dog started having seizures and needed to be seen immediately. The gentle caring staff took us right in and helped us. They have definitely earned our respect and they will be our vets for our new home! Extremely uncaring and lack sympathy and compassion during a time when my cat needed to be seen immediately due to serious medical concerns. My cat has been a patient for over 3 years and I never felt like the vet listened and took the time with me regarding my pets health. Those issues continued to deteriorate to the point that my cat was in pain and had mobility issues. I called all upset and worried, the receptionist was very cold and refused to schedule my pet. She said the veterinarian told her that I needed to take my cat to the emergency hospital in Wilmington. What is the point in establishing your animal with a vet when times of need they are not available and refuse to see them. I was very lucky and found On Point Veterinarian hospital in Myrtle Beach. It was a little further drive from OIB but my cat got excellent care and could be seen that day. The Dr spent a lot of time with me and in evaluating my cat. The staff was so kind and caring. Do not stay with a vet who do not tend to your animals needs and assist in times of need. There are other vets in the community that do truly care about your pet, Ocean Isle Veterinary Hospital is not one of them.

Adequate pet care gives them three stars but they are VERY expensive. They know they can charge high prices because they have very little competition. Their "bedside manner" needs work.

My 9 month old puppy started acting weird and throwing up. I called the vet for a appointment and the answer I got was we can see her in a 10 days. What kind of vet is that. I made the decision is was time to change vets.So here I am waiting in the parking lot for my babies appointment at a different vet. So prayers for my baby please

The doctors and staff at Ocean Isle veterinary clinic are such wonderful people. They took care of many of my fur babies and especially my girl Bella the best dog in the world. I had to let her go yesterday and everyone there treated her like she was the only patient and treated me so wonderfully. It was so hard to say goodbye to her but they allowed me to lay on a blanket with her outside under the tree and Dr. Ben came and talk to me and made the whole thing as easy as it could possibly be. I would recommend Ocean Isle Veterinary clinic to anyone who loves their babies like their own family.

I recently scheduled an annual exam for my dog and was provided a next day appointment which I attended. However, when I received my bill upon checkout, I noticed they billed me $78 for "Examination Work-In". I was not advised of this "FEE" when I made the appointment. If so, I would've made the appointment two- weeks out, because this was not an emergency appointment. This is NOT a good business practice and in my opinion, gouging!With that said, I would like to add that Dr. Anna is wonderful and attentive.

Ocean isle vet is the worst vet in North Carolina period.. they’re the most unprofessional and whiny people I’ve ever met. My dog goes in for swimmers tail(dog is in pain) and go figure they pull his tail lift up on it and my dog freaks out, what do you expect. Now he has on his medical records that he has to sedated everytime he is seen, next time one of your ladies hurts in a place lift up on her and see how she likes it. Hopefully she gets sedated to be seen at her next check up… this place sucks!

I want to thank Ocean Isle Vet for their kindness and compassion with helping me say goodbye to my fur baby. Being a new resident and first time customer and having to go through that they treated me and my Bear like we were family. And I truly am appreciative and cannot thank them enough. They let me take all the time I needed to say goodbye and I will forever be grateful. So thank you again to Dr Werle and all the kind staff for everything.

Let me start by saying, I am not one to write reviews online but felt this experience was worthy of one.I arrived in Holden Beach for vacation and our dog was very ill on a Monday morning. After not improving overnight I called two local vets to try to get him an appointment.Both were full but OIVH asked for a callback number and offered to at least try to squeeze him in. Shortly after I received a call letting me know they would be able to see my dog at 9:40am (I called around 8:15am and they called back before 8:30am)I drove to the office and checked my dog in. The office was clean and spacious. There was a short wait (but what do you expect they were nice enough to squeeze me in).Both the vet technician and the vet were beyond kind, patient, and helpful. They took their time to answer my questions, address my concerns, and diagnosis my dog.We left with a bag full of RXs and the technician was kind enough to walk me through all of them to ensure I understood what to do at home to continue to make my dog feel better.I felt the price was extremely fair and transparent.Thank you very much to OIVH!!!

I have not been here personally but my mom took her pups there and had nothing but great things to say about Dr Werle. He seemed knowledgeable and genuinely seemed to care about the dogs which is all you can really ask for when it comes to anyone’s fur babies.

Even tho my visit was inevitably going to end sadly that day as I knew going in, they were so understanding and caring it was my first visit but will not be the last! Glad I found them! Seem more concerned about money than the well being of my pup. I have a 14 year old West highland terrier mix who unfortunately gets UTIs sometimes. She had one start on Monday and I called mid-day to see if I could get her some antibiotics and they said no, she has to has to be seen first. At face value that's understandable but they stated that I couldn't bring her by that day because they were too busy, next day they were closed for the 4th so I would have to bring her Wednesday and drop her off for observation. I said ok but can I at least pick up the antibiotics because she was having a hard time. She been seen regularly by them and has a history and it was pretty straight forward. If it wasn't a UTI, just giving me the antibiotics wouldn't have hurt but could've done a worlds of help. They still said no and by the time she was seen, she had blood in her urine and the vet called to say "she has a really nasty UTI" and then proceeded add hundreds of dollars of recommendations! It wouldn't have gotten so bad if they just would've seen her sooner or given me the antibiotics. They are too busy to provide reasonable and affordable care.

Wonderful vets. The staff are all very knowledgeable and friendly. The doctors are top notch. We take all our cats and dogs there. We also have had them give first exams and shots to two litters of Newfypoos we raised.
