What a wonderful place! The Sea Biscuit and all the selfless, amazing staff/volunteers are such an inspiration. They provide a safe place to rehabilitate and care for wounded and exhausted beach birds. Even though they are busy, they offer morning tours to educate people about their hospital. I was honored to get to have the experience of a tour. There are several ways to support The Sea Biscuit- check out their website! A very worthy shelter to support any way you can!

What an incredible facility that's being run here. This shelter is run by not only knowledgeable staff, but caring ones ad well. They put their heart and all of their time into the animals care, health, and rehabilitation, and it shows if you take a step in to their location. The location helps local Aviary and if possible does a wild release as soon as they are well! They I highly encourage you to visit their page and send donations to them if you're able to help them continue all of the work they do!

We found a bird washed up on the beach that was in bad shape and we called this shelter for help since we had no idea what to do. She talked us through it and helped us take care of the poor bird until we could bring it to her. Once there the bird sadly passed away on the trip over due to being underfed and really under weight (it's supposed to weight 900g but was only at 300g). She then told us all about the bird and showed us around the other birds in critical care that she was taking care of. She knows what she's doing and is doing an amazing job taking care of all these unfortunate birds.

Small place but totally admire the work these folks do. Good to know there's a place to go if ever I find an injured bird in my travels. Just adored the owls.

This place is amazing. She does such great work with the birds, so much knowledge, love and concern. We dropped off an injured green warbler bird today. We know she is the only chance the bird has.

Small shop with a big heart. We had a great little tour that took 30 ish minutes. We had 3 kiddos under the age of 5 that were over the moon to see the birds up close. It is essentially a backyard converted into a care facility. These people obviously care about their charges. Highly recommend a stop.

My son and I dropped a baby blue bird off. The lady was very knowledgeable and actually cares for the birds. She took the time to walk me and my son around amd showed us all of the birds she takes care of. It makes my heart melt knowing she's out there on the island helping our animals from all over the county. I'm making my donation today!

This is the best pace for wildlife to come when in peril. Ms Mary Ellen is a Saint and she really does an incredible job to rehabilitate birds, turtles, you name it.If you find an injured animal, don't hesitate to call. Also, if you can afford to donate anything from pet food to blankets, carriers or anything that can help, please do! They do a job that is selfless and can use all the support they can get.

I love the birds. I love Mary Ellen and everything she does for the birds. I deliver food to the birds of prey to help them get back on their feet and or wings. Any place that helps animals for the sake of the animals is great in my book. And Mary Ellen is always super nice and happy when i call and ask if i can bring people and kids by to see the birds. She loves sharing information amd educating those about our avian feathered friends.

I brought an Eastern Screech Owl in after finding her in the middle of the road. It was late, but Mary Ellen had me bring her over straight away. Mary Ellen is incredibly knowledgeable about birds of all sorts. She has also been so kind as to keep me updated on the owl's progress. Such a wonderful place!

We were not able to tour inside because we arrived after visiting hours. But the lady in charge was very nice and gave us a great overall explanation of what she does there to help rehabilitate the birds brought there. Very informative and interesting.
