Paul's is always a fantastic experience when in OKI. Wide beer selection that changes all the time, the food is always fresh, and the staff are like friends you just saw last week. The bar side is open and airy and can get a little loud when it's full. The build-your-own burger/sandwich menu is such a great option. The garlic cheese curds app is some of the best fried cheese curds you'll find anywhere.Vegetarian options: The menu is very customizable and can be made totally veg friendly

I was so excited to share my review about Paul’s. I along with some of my friends had dinner at Paul’s on a Thursday night. When we arrived, we were seated right away as it was our orders taken. I ordered a sweet potato crusted catfish. When I tell you it was fresh, and superb! All of the food was very tasteful so much so that our table wanted to meet the chef. All of the food was fresh and we had enough to take home for leftovers. We are out of towners, but this definitely will be one of our spots when we come back to visit.this restaurant was tops great waitresses, friendly, atmosphere, and very clean. No complaints from our table. Great job!Parking: As soon as we arrived, we did not have a difficult time parking. It was also on a Thursday and we were there around 6 PM.

This is the 4th time we’ve tried this restaurant. It hasn’t got any better.Waited 25 min for the waitress to take our order. Ended up walking out & just left money for our drinks on the table.Too hot inside. Need more air flow.Wall mural of the universities has misspelling. Sad. We won’t be back.

Sent a message to check for a table and I got an almost instant response! Awesome communication led us to give Paul’s a try tonight.The Garlic cheese curds are ridiculously good and even a generous portion stood no chance against my kids.Brian came out from the kitchen to say hi( he was answering messenger) and Helena/ Becky offered the best service we have had on Oak Island bar none!We had two burgers and a chicken sandwich. There was zero disappointment in our orders. The food was fresh , flavorful and fantastic.We will be back , Paul’s is awesome.

My wife and I come here every time we visit the island to do work on our home. We suggest Paul’s as one of a few highly recommended places to our renters. Often times, we come here every day and in some cases, for lunch and dinner. The food and the staff used to be great. For whatever reason, it appears there has been a complete overhaul in staff and the food was subpar. We waited nearly 45 minutes for mac n cheese and it came out cold and tasted like milk. This was our second time coming this week and after a poor burger and patty melt our first night, we hoped it was just a fluke. We sure hope this place gets back to what it used to be between personable staff and consistent food. Crazy enough, we actually looked forward to coming to the island for Paul’s alone.

Food was great and we got carryout. The fried pickles and garlic cheese curds are amazing.I didn't get my fries with the $25 Calabash dinner unless they put it with the popcorn shrimp my Mother ordered. There were no lemons with either meal and they were listed with the popcorn shrimp. I'm not sure if the Calabash dinner was supposed to have lemons.I didn't contact the restaurant as I was too tired from a day at the beach to drive back just for some fries, and it also gave me more room for the fried pickles and cheese curds. The prices seemed a little high on the dinners for the amount of food we got, but the appetizer price seemed about right.Dietary restrictions: They offer a gluten free bun.Wheelchair accessibility: The part of the restaurant I entered is basically a big garage with the garage door open so I think a wheelchair could get in easily. I didn't notice how level the ground was there. I got carryout so I don't know about the restrooms either.

Odd place, but good.Staff is extremely well trained, professional and attentive.Odd menu. Much higher end menu than typical bar food, with prices to match. Cocktail menu is way above average, and the quality is high. Actual craft cocktails that are well prepared with high end spirits.And all of this in a place that... Can't figure out it's identity. A large Japanese surf print on one wall. A painted sports mural on the opposite wall. Basketball games in the back. A mix of Paris street scenes and pirate art in the men's room. And all of it in a space with an overhead garage door entrance. It's impossible to tell if it is intentionally eclectic and quirky, or if it just can't figure out what it wants to be.Regardless, it's a solid establishment, with quality food and drink, and a great staff. Recommended.

Excellent service and drink selection, I ordered a smash burger Carolina style (onions, slaw & chili) with a side of white coleslaw. (I asked for a tomato but ultimately wind up just pulling it off as it didn’t really add much lol)The burger was seasoned well in the slaw was super flavorful however that was a bit too much bread for my taste. Their choice of using a fairly dense slightly cakey bun detracted from how tasty everything else on the burger was in my opinion.I sat right near the big garage door and enjoyed a nice slight breeze I didn’t have any issues with being too hot! Quite comfortable! Will likely stop by again for dinner next time I’m on the island definitely worth the recommendation especially if you have a moment to take enjoy a round of skeet ball!

So we visited tonight and it was busy due to it being Monday and all the other restaurants being closed. We (table of 5) checked in at the front and was told it would be 30-45mins. As we sat at the bar we noticed that another employee sat a party that arrived after us (waiting about 50-60mins). After asking the employees about this, they said "there was some confusion, and we are getting another table." The bartender introduced himself as Dylan and noticed the error and took it upon himself to get us a table and also take our order for us. He then returned several times to check on us and was very attentive. Dylan said he has only worked here for 3 months, which shocked us. Dylan took control and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and help get our food order in. Thank you Dylan, you were awesome and the food was great!!

Brian and his awesome staff created an amazing rehearsal dinner for our son and daughter in law. The food was delicious. I definitely recommend the brussel sprouts, wicked pickles and chicken wings. The staff was patient and professional. The event space was beautiful and perfect. We had about 30 people in attendance but the room could easily hold more. All our guests were happy with the experience. We would highly recommend this restaurant.Parking: Plenty of free parking in the lot

Staff is fantastic! Mark was awesome. Very personable and Attentive. All the staff members were courteous. The Atmosphere is fantastic, especially if you like sports.My only complaint was the size of the clams. I get it's an appetizer but they were tiny. I would still highly recommend visiting because of the staff and other food.

This is much better quality food than I’d expect from a sports bar/bar and grille type place. Don’t miss the cheese curds, we ordered a second order they were so tasty. The BLT was excellent too. Plus with the skee ball and pinball it’s good if you have some hyperactive kids with short attention spans. The service was fast and flexible too.
