Our team from Carolina Retirement Planners recently had the pleasure of experiencing a holiday team building retreat hosted by Oak Island Accommodations, and I must say, it was nothing short of fantastic. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the most helpful and friendly staff who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and enjoyable.The home we stayed in was in pristine condition, striking the perfect balance between cozy and spacious, accommodating our entire team with ease. Waking up each morning to the serene view of the beach and the delightful sight of dolphins playing in the distance was a joy that added a unique touch to our retreat.One of the highlights of our stay was undoubtedly the impressive kitchen. It was fully equipped with everything we needed, making it a breeze for us to cook delicious meals together. This not only added to our team-building experience but also allowed us to enjoy some truly memorable dinners.The overall ambiance of the place, combined with the exceptional service provided by Oak Island Accommodations, made for a wonderful time that was had by everyone. It was a retreat that not only met our expectations but exceeded them, providing us with precious memories and stronger team bonds. We stayed at Lisa Lu and had an amazing time! Booking through OIA is so easy and they’re so helpful. I had trouble signing in online to make my final payment and it took two seconds! The house itself was adorable and so relaxing. The views were amazing. Will definitely rent again!

This is our second bad experience in two years. Last year (2022) the house we rented (State House) was in poor condition to the point of having to be moved. The house we were moved to was off of the beach which was not at all what we had planned for. When asked about compensation for the trouble we had to endure, the homeowner offered $100 which wasn’t even 10% of the cost of the house.This year, after talking with agents over the phone many times, I was assured the house we were renting would be thoroughly cleaned prior to our arrival and that it was in much better condition. The comforters were dirty with blood stains and who knows what else. The floors were filthy. The pictures posted on the website are very deceiving. This year the house was Beachy Peachy Keen. The house was rented due to the fact that it had a pool. Unfortunately, on Thursday morning of our stay, the pool was green (see photos). I called Oak Island Accommodations to let them know and was told that they would try to send the pool company out that day, but couldn’t guarantee it. No one ever showed up, so our family was unable to use the pool the rest of the week. The cost of houses with pools significantly increases, so the fact that we couldn’t use the pool for the last part of our stay was maddening.The homeowners clearly don’t care about the upkeep of the home. Maintenance had to be called our first day for a large hole that was uncovered over the downstairs shower, a broken toilet seat in the upstairs bathroom, and for severed cords to the television in one of the bedrooms. The dryer left black marks all over clothes s that didn’t come out. The condition of the back deck was very poor and almost to the point of being dangerous. The woods is splintering and extremely weathered. The gates do not latch properly and sag so that closing them is very hard. There are spindles broken on the top deck. The pool chairs are rusted and unsafe to use. If you have young children like I do, I do not recommend this property AT ALL!!!The best thing I can say about this place is the location to the beach access is great.Unfortunately, Oak Island Accommodations does not allow you to leave reviews on their website unless they are good reviews, which makes renting with them that much harder when you are trying to find a nice home for your family to stay in for a week.

I recently rented a house with OIA. I stayed with a few friends and all of our children! Our accommodations met all of our needs for cooking delicious meals and it included toys that our young children loved! I’m looking forward to planning my trip for summer ‘24!

Website was very user friendly, and if I had any questions I was able to contact someone in the office very easily. check in was easy and we even stopped by the office to see events happening on OKI during our stay.

We loved our stay with Oak Island Accommodations. Our unit Sol Retreat at The Palms at Long Bay was so relaxing. The condo was clean, spacious, and well stocked. The booking and check in process was phenomenal. Highly recommend staying with Oak Island Accommodations.

We meet up with 3 other families and spend at least 1 week per summer at an OIA rental house. The rates are reasonable and OIA is always responsive when we need something. We will continue to rent from OIA, and in fact will be adding another week per year because our experiences have been so great. :)

Oak island accommodations is such a wonderful company. The staff is professional and so helpful. I just booked another vacation home with oak island accommodation. The houses are beautiful. The customer service is astounding. Every vacation I have taken oak island accommodation has done everything they can to make it the best vacation. I have been using OIA for years now and it’s truly the most amazing business and I will never use a different company for my beach vacations.

We stayed at one of Oak Island Accommodations brand new rental houses last June for a week and it was a great deal (my mom scored a deal because we were the first ones ever to rent the house) and the house was really clean, spacious, airy and comfortable. I was surprised at how many amenities it had already in the kitchen, too. The house we rented was on a side street in the residential area of Oak Island, so it was as quiet as being at home and perfect for families. It was also a lot cheaper than being on the beachfront. Oak Island is so full of public beach access points that you don’t need to be beachfront to have a good time. The best place to access the beach, though, is to drive down to “The Point” at the end of the island , where the beach is really wide , there’s lots of parking usually, and it’s not wall to wall tourists. Highly recommend you also go spend time checking out Southport. Oak Island Accommodations was so professional to deal with and they have a ton of great properties they manage. I think it’s a much better experience than dealing with most of the individual property owners like on certain apps (although I think you can book Oak Island Accommodations properties through the big vacation rental apps, too), because they are real pros, there’s not a bunch of hidden fees or surprises or shady stuff you weren’t expecting. The professionalism really impressed us and we will DEFINITELY be using them the next time we book another vacation rental on Oak Island. Thanks for one of the best vacations we’ve ever taken!

A lovely cottage steps from the beach. Furnished well, decorated tastefully , and everything you need available. Nice to also walk to the small Beach Pantry. We will rent Salty but Sweet again!

First time using this company. I will definitely use them again.Everything was perfect from the reservation process till time to leave. Customer service was very friendly. They emailed when the unit was ready. The condo was immaculate. They left a nice goody bag with more things than most companies give you. It was a very pleasant stay.

Whatever I’ve spoken with anyone at their offices I’m always impressed by the level of customer service. My family and I rented this property around Christmas 2022. We had a great time! The house was huge! It has 3 levels; a lower level at which the elevator and door to the stairs is located. 2nd level at which there is 3 bedrooms, living room, balconies, bathrooms, and mini kitchen area. 3rd floor had 2 bedrooms, bathrooms, living room, a balcony, and a nice kitchen. It had plenty of parking, a space to cook on the grill. It also had a VERY beautiful beach view. Very family and pet friendly environment with great restaurants around! My family and I rate this property and the overall experience totally stress free and 10/10! This will definitely be something that we will do again!

A group of 6 of us stayed for a girls weekend. Being December, there weren't any crowds and we were able to enjoy the peacefulness of the ocean.The house was perfect with bedrooms on the first floor and gathering spaces on the second. It was only a short drive to restaurants and the supermarket.Did I mention it was perfect?

Oak island accommodations were awesome! The employees was very helpful! A few weeks before arriving an employee used her personal lunch brake to drive by our beach house to make sure there was an outlet outside of our rental for us to charge our golf cart (since it wasn’t advertised on the listing). We couldn’t have asked for better costumer service! Also the house was super clean and came with everything we needed for the week!

I rented to beautiful beach home named “Selah” from OIA. The house was right on the beach… It was glorious to wake up to the sound of the ocean every morning and to go to sleep with the sound of the crashing waves every evening. I will only book my OK Island rentals with OIA. Highly recommend!!PS: OIA also offers “pet friendly” accommodations!!

We stayed with a big group at a great place last summer. They were very communicative and I loved how they coordinated the grocery drop, that was a great touch! We are going to use them again for this summer vacation as well.
