I absolutely love shopping at Food Lion in Oak Island! They truly offer the best grocery prices anywhere on the island. Their weekly sales deals are fantastic, and the Shop and Save earnings make it even better. Food Lion is our go to grocery store on Oak Island. They have great sales on meats as well as many other grocery items. Checkout is easier than anywhere I've been on Oak Island/Southport.

Their food bar is absolutely grotesque. They’ve had the same dish in there for a week straight. News flash. Nobody wants that Mongolian beef and or steak and peppers, that’s why it’s been there forever. They’re so lazy to change it up at all!! Also when then are running low on stock they push over similar items on the shelf. I don’t know how many times I’ve grabbed the wrong item because of this. If you don’t have it you don’t have it.

Being in construction, we are always looking for good food for lunch. The wing bar at Food Lion is usually a great quick option. The wing bar at this location was sub par at best. Wings were dry and unattended. The wing bar at Sunset Beach is always fresh and filled but not at Oak Island. This is the second time we have tried this location and the second time we were disappointed. The staff here are very friendly. I just wish they would pay more attention like the Sunset Beach location. The wings and other items are always great there.

I recently visited Food Lion and unfortunately, I had a negative experience. When trying to purchase a non-alcoholic beer, I was asked for identification, which seemed unnecessary given that the product contained no alcohol. The staff was going to deny my purchase until my father stepped in and claimed the product was for him. I was disappointed with the customer service and the overall policy of Food Lion. It seemed like the staff was not properly trained on how to handle the sale of non-alcoholic beverages and they lacked common sense in this situation. Additionally, it was frustrating to have to go through this unnecessary hassle just to purchase a non-alcoholic beverage. Overall, I was not impressed with my experience at Food Lion and I hope they can improve their policies and training to avoid similar issues in the future.

It’s always crowded, but the shelves are stocked and the employees are super friendly! The prices are also WAY cheaper than Publix, unless the item you want is on sale. You also don’t have to worry about checking dates, because everything gets gone so fast it doesn’t have time to spoil.

The local food Lion for oak Island. They do offer sushi inside as well as the chicken Wing bar. Very consistent to my home food Lion. Staff was very nice.

Worst customer service ever! Tried to order a cake for three days as no one in the deli would answer the phone. After I finally got in touch with the deli manager she refused to make my cake... and was rude. Southport food lion had no problem with making my cake.

Great prices, decent selection (but of you want Boar's Head luncheon meat they do not carry it), and the staff was very helpful when I had questions. Be careful that the parking lot does not appear to have a traffic light so cutting across lanes can be a frantic exercise especially on a holiday weekend.

Food Lion has been my go to for years. The store is clean and the prices are better than most. It’s sometimes hard to find a parking place closer to the building at certain times, but it is probably that way at most places. I have a hard time walking, so I have to park close, and this Food Lion has a narrow parking lot that at certain times can be crowded, otherwise the store is radio accessible and very clean. I would give 5 stars except for one reason. I cannot stand waiting in line, and the cashier open another register and allow everyone at the end to just walk a head of those of us waiting already. Two visits in a row another disabled person and myself were standing next to each other, in different lines, about 5 back, when one of the management literally walked over and asked the person behind me to move the line over to his register. I apologize to the lady beside me and to the people in front of me. I feel horrible for those that have been standing in line. I would gladly let anyone get ahead of me if they were in a hurry but to intentionally allow people to get ahead of others that are already in line is inexcusable. Enough said, Food Lion, has helped my family raise three children over the years, because of their prices. I would highly recommend them mostly over any other store, with every thing except produce. Over the year’s that has been a product I shop separately.

They don't have the most amazing selection, but they are extremely reliable with the basics, and unlike the Publix up the road they don't close at the drop of a hat. There have been multiple times that I've run to Publix, which is closer to my house, and they have been closed because the weather was bad or some other reason. Food Lion is always open.

Liars, they dont open til 7am, even tho this site says 6am. I have turned around and gone home now, three times , because of this alternating schedule. Not good. I am disabled, and every step is preccious, some days cant walk at all.

Nice store. Clean and good selection. Produce choices were not as varied as in bigger stores but understandable for the size. Had extra item you would want for the beach. Parking was easy and there seemed to be plenty of space. The check out was slow but our cashier was maybe new because she took a lot of time looking up produce. Overall it is a typical Food Lion.

This Food Lion is very convenient while staying on the island however it's a hit or miss on customer service. I have been to this location some years while staying in Oak Island and have had great service from the cashier's and other times have had very rude cashier's. Had it not been for a rude blonde cashier i would have given one more star.

I like Food Lion stores because I think you get the best, lowest prices on good, everyday products. I have had no issues with the employees at Oak Island location. I like seeing regular employees. I am a local, permanent resident. I like having a place I can get everything I need. A few years ago they added some additional shelf products in the international foods section. I feel like I get the most for my money here. Also, I like the price marked is what it is. I don't have to figure out how much higher it is because another local grocery store marks their prices by the pound. I will continue to shop Food Lion. It is only a few blocks away and that is a great thing in this heat! Thank you Food Lion Managers and employees. All are helpful!

I shop Food Lion every year when I'm on vacation at the beach. The store is always clean. The employees friendly and hard working. Management will go out of their way to meet your needs or ensure you're satisfied. Meats and cheeses from the deli are fresh. Baked goods are fresh, and not stale. On weekends the line may be long, but employees work hard to get customers checked out as quickly as they can. I enjoy shopping for my groceries at this Food Lion.
