We recently stayed at Bridgewater through Better Beach Rentals. This was our first time with a heated pool which was amazing, BBR was fantastic and so helpful. The house was so well stocked and had all of the comfort of home with an ocean view.

What a wonderful time my family had at this very comfortable beach house! To wake up every morning to the sounds, smells and views of the beach were wonderful. Both decks are covered so we enjoyed being outside in any type of weather. (The light shows at night were amazing-lightening light shows.) The swag given by Better Beach rentals were useful items such as waterproof pouches for phone and other things to keep dry, beach bag and starter items for bathroom and kitchen. The realty company thought of everything. We LOVED our week here!

Beautiful house with amazing views and amenities. Very spacious and well equipped. For the most part house was clean, a few glitches but cleaning people very responsive. They replaced broken coffee pot, brought hangers and exchanged wrong size sheets the same day. We had a great time, loved the pool and the beach. Our only thing we were disappointed in was the long walk to the beach. Difficult for my 87 year old husband to walk to the beach but we would still rent again. Overall a great vacation, we had great weather.

This is our second time staying at the same beach house with my family. we had a great time. Spent every day at the beach. Took amazing pictures of sunrises. my favorite memory besides being on the beach is sitting on the deck, on the rocking chairs and looking out to the ocean. we are definitely staying in this house next year. When we first arrived one of the bedrooms didn’t have their linens for the bed, no problem just called up Better beach rental and with in 2 hours they delivered the linens for the bed.

I have been coming to Oak Island for 20+ years now. This year we stayed at Marshy Marsh and the Funky Bunch, our first time staying at a house that wasn’t beach front. This house was perfect for my family! We love the West Beach and this house had a pool, a dock, and a short drive to the beach in our golf cart. We had plenty of space for our family of 11! My only complaint was the house was advertised as having a newly renovated dock in the Spring of 2023, and when we arrived the last week in July the deck was nowhere near finished. We brought our boat specifically for this and was unable to dock it at our house which was an inconvenience. We had no idea the dock wasn’t finished as we booked this house specifically for bringing the boat. We are booking this same house for next year and excited to have the full working dock!!

Our group of 13 had a wonderful experience renting BonBini on Oak Island. The house was thoroughly cleaned upon check in and everything that was promised would be supplied, was. We had plenty of space for everyone and there is no better location. Access to the beach is incredibly easy and so convenient. Better Beach Rental was very responsive and available if we needed anything at all while we were there. We are looking forward to coming back next year!

Our family has been vacationing at Oak Island for 32 years. As our family has grown over the years, we have needed increasingly larger accommodations. Two years ago, we discovered Suite Southern Charm. It is such a beautiful place with space for everyone! Each room is beautifully decorated and has its own bathroom, which is a huge bonus. The oceanfront views are spectacular, and the entire family enjoys the beach, pool, and hot tub. This home has everything we have been looking for to provide am awesome family vacation experience. We look forward to coming back next year!

Absolutely stunning! We had the most amazing experience. Love that the scheduling is easy. Towels are always there and if you need more they’re so quick to bring them. We had the pool heated. He came out in a flash and was super nice. We stayed a little over a week. The woman who cleans the pool is excellent. She is so down to earth, does her job and all around really just enjoyed her company while she cleaned the pool. The house itself is stunning. Kitchen fully equipped, elevator. So private. Rooms are a very nice size. Love having that private pool. Love that each floor has its own balcony. Everything was extremely clean when we arrived. You have a pool. You have such easy access to the beach. Oceanfront is the best and I cannot stay if it’s not oceanfront. I’m really picky. But I was very satisfied with how clean everything was. We did have trouble with our code getting in but called the number they give you, whoever he was really was on it. Got us in within under 2 minutes and made sure our code worked before getting off the phone. They really do go above and beyond. It pays to pay for what you get and their prices are very fair. Just with booking with better beach rentals they send you everything you need to know. On arrival there’s a book in the kitchen that also gives amazing instructions. When you call them they are extremely helpful with any questions or even with emailing them. Our beds were extremely comfortable and that’s not something that usually happens. Showers were beautiful and make you not want to get out. The chairs by the pool are expensive and you can tell they put a lot of thought into this home to make it comfortable for guest. We will be returning! Also we stayed at latitude adjustment!

Our stay at Rock n Reel was great for the location, the space and the convenience. We loved being able to walk across the street to the beach and then return for a relaxing swim in the pool. We also loved how close we were to a few restaurants and Ruby’s coffee (the best coffee and breakfast)! The pier is also just across the street and we saw stingrays, sharks and jellyfish safely from above. This is a rental we would love to return to.

We loved this recently renovated beachfront home! The pool and new appliances were great additions to this already well-planned space. We had restful nights and peaceful days due to quiet surroundings. Air conditioner worked so well! Well planned renovation by the owner!

It's the Perfect lil Oceanfront place! It's big enough for us and our dogs. The neighbors are nice. The house was spotless and super clean and smelled sooo nice! We will definitely be back! The staff communicated very well and where extremely helpful with any questions we had. Highly Recommend!!!

Had a great experience renting Monkeytyme through Better Beach Rentals the last week of September. The house was very clean and in a great location (although it might be a little busy during peak season, near the pier and a restaurant and a major public beach access). Rental company was very responsive when one of the smoke alarms started chirping and needed a new battery. Easy keyless check-in and check-out, and excellent communication. Hoping to rent the same house again next year!

This is a lovely spacious retreat for a family reunion! We really enjoyed the outside decks. My father, who is handicapped and using a walker was able to negotiate most of the house and enjoy the breeze in the shade out on the porches. We also enjoyed fishing, crabbing, and kayaking off the dock. The pool and the other facilities were also a great gathering place for the rest of the family!Inside the kitchen was perfect with two large refridgerators and two sinks for preparing and cooking the meals. Plenty of cabinet space and seating for our family of 26. We were able to enjoy our meals together and relax to watch TV at night or play games on the secret fold out table in the family room.We had difficulty several times with the elevator and the rental complany very kindly responded and came out to help us. Once we figured it out after several attempts this was a plus for this home, with my handucapped father.My only suggestions would be that it would have been nice to have a second dishwasher upstairs. We were constantly running the one dishwasher upstairs and hardly ever used the one on the second floor. Also although the linens were good, the covers for the beds were really worn and lcheap. I wish I had brought my own quilts or cotton blankets.Overalll a wonderful experience and I would lhighly recommend this place for a large group like we had.

This was our third renting from Better Beach Rentals, all with the same house, Sensational. They do a great job of managing rentals and are very responsive, friendly and helpful. We did have one issue that went unresolved during our visit, but it involved the neighbor/owner, so it was a touchy situation. However, I wish there had been some follow up. But otherwise, they have been very kind with great service and we love this house and look forward to returning next year!

I have mixed feelings about this place. Overall the property was decent, I know people may have different expectations to cleanliness. I feel the livingroom furniture and upholstered stuff could have used some cleaning. Was confused about the sheets and towels being packaged to show that they we're cleaned and sanitized but what about the comforter on the beds. What good does it do to clean the sheets and not the comforter. Since I had no idea when the last time that had been washed I just removed them from the bed. The kitchen was clean someone had broken one of the shelves in the fridge but instead of fixing it they left them on the kitchen counter. The thing that probably bothered me the most was the customer service! This was my first time renting here, first time going to this beach so I know nothing about the area or lay of the land. I went to pick up groceries and by the time we had come back and put them away the power goes out. Meanwhile it's like 1:00 so I'll call the office and got a receptionist named Rhonda who was so unpleasant and uncaring about the situation. I'm just trying to understand the protocol is; what happens if the power is not back on shortly as it was a Friday and I knew once the office closed it might be an issue trying to reach someone to fix this or find me a different unit. She said I recommend you call back in a couple of hours if you don't have power and we'll see. I'm sorry why should you not being reaching out to me , am I not the guest renting your place. About 2 hours later the power did come back on but I was already displeased with her service. On the day we checked out which is at 10:00, the house keeper pulled up at 8:45 and sat outside the house and watched us till we left. Just left me a uncomfortable vibe overall , not sure if I would be returning here.

This house lived up to its name with a perfect view of the beach and ocean. The outdoor decks were perfect for watching the sunsets (especially the top level). We stayed here for a family/cousins beach trip and had a great time. Being right on the beach and having a pool was awesome. The pool was very refreshing when it got hot, also had an outdoor shower to rinse the sand off. The location was fantastic, right next to the pier and beach. Grocery stores and restaurants not far away either.The upstairs AC went out one day but they luckily responded very quickly and sent someone out that same day to fix it.A few things to note:1. The beds were unfortunately pretty uncomfortable. They were super bouncy and noisy and the sheets weren’t soft. You also have to make the bed when you arrive as the sheets and towels come packaged in plastic.2. Know that this house comes VERY bare boned, no toilet paper, paper towels, very little hand soap, no dish soap, trash bags, olive oil, etc. So be prepared to buy all of this, which is not ideal for those flying in and unable to take things home if not used.

This was our favorite family vacation to date! The company was friendly and helpful, and the house was beautifully decorated. The ocean front house was so peaceful, and very close to local restaurants and the ferry. We can't wait to book for next year.

We had a great time and the location was awesome. Loved the family/living quarters on the top floor. Negative was pool was not clean and we had called about 3 hrs before checkout and was told they would get back to us. They did, however it was after checkout and we all were stressed getting out on time. I would stay again if the occasion arrises.

We were very pleased with our rental experience through Better Beach Rentals again this year. We had some very specific requirements for beachfront that was dog friendly and located in a neighborhood off the main drag. Claudia and Kim were just great to work with throughout the process, and they set us up in the perfect rental house for our needs. We will gladly use Better Beach for our future rentals on Oak Island.

The property was just as described, and we had a wonderful vacation! The kitchen was very well stocked, which was important for cooking our family meals at the house. Our grandsons loved the proximity to the beach, and the location was perfect for any errands that we needed to run. The large dining table also served as a place for playing games and doing jigsaw puzzles. We enjoyed going to the Oak Island lighthouse and taking a ferry to the Fort Fisher aquarium. The only negatives were not having a recycle bin and also having a TV remote with dead batteries. Small issues. We still had a terrific time! Would love to return sometime! Highly recommend!

This was one if very few homes that had everything my family needed! Elevator was incredibly helpful for limited mobility family members and hauling groceries to the top floor. The double kitchen, huge table and bar seating allowed us to all eat together! The beachfront had enough sand for all the kids to play by the house. The pool was perfect for school aged kids. The double laundry is amazingly helpful. Any issues we had were responded to and corrected in a timely manner. Daniel with maintenance was very polite and helpful with the elevator issue we had! Kim was super responsive. Housekeeping was prompt. The location between ocean crest pier and Kings was perfect. This was the kids first trip to the beach, and it wouldn't have been nearly as enjoyable without this property! We definitely had Suite Dreams, except the children's feet sounded like elephants on the top floor for anyone sleeping in the middle floor. Lol.

Great rental company and great beach house at better beach rental. We had the best time! Definitely want to stay next year! If I had any complaints it would just be there is no early check in. We did get lucky and they let us check in an hour early. The house was more than we could have ever expected!

We rented Affinity the past weekend and it was perfect for our four families! The location was great, ocean front, beach access and it was so nice to have our own pool.Great customer service! For our last day since we were a lot of people we requested a late checkout and Charlene at the office was very nice and able to help us with that. The house had everything we need and we will definitely be back.

We recently book a stay through Better Beach Rentals at 1 Beautiful View checking in August 25th and were to check out August 31st. This was our first time to Oak Island. We have rented many, many homes up and down the east coast over the years and have never seen a property that was permitted to be rented in this condition. Upon arrival at the location we were prepared that it was an older home as my husband saw the pictures on the website. It did not look like the pictures except for the view. My husband and I were greeted by a cockroach on the kitchen counter as we entered the front door. There were ants crawling on the counter and in the cabinets and on the stove and a substance that was stuck to the counter which I tried to clean and was not able to do so. The floors were covered in hair and not just dog hair.Below were the issues that my husband reported on the first day and sent to management office.> All the screens are torn open> The Gate on the back deck was laying on the floor of the deck not attached> Spindles on the deck were missing making it a safety hazard for small children or pets> As you can see in the picture from one of the bathrooms it obviously had not been cleaned. There were clumps of hair on the floor> The entire deck is rotted and is loose feeling very unstable> Handles missing on the dresser, hence the drawers can not be opened.> Door to the deck is rusted and won't close fully> The were ants in the kitchen cabinets which my wife cleaned out.The management did address the safety issues on the deck and they were very responsive with all of the issues we reported. A man came and repaired the screens, and the railings but we didn't have him attach the gate as it would need a lot of work to replace so we just used ours. The pest control company called to come and clean the ants, but I had already done so. The cleaning company called and offered to come and clean up the bathrooms but I had already done so. Someone came and replace light bulbs. (???) not sure why.This house should not be rented. It is truly in need of renovations and did not feel safe. The paneling on the walls had obvious water damage and the floors in inside showers would bend when you stood on them. Water damage on floors by the bedroom doors and in kitchen as well. The cabinets were really gross and I tried to clean but paper was stuck to the inside so I didn't put anything in them. We just kept our stuff in a box on the counter.While Better Beach rentals did offer to come and address the main issues we put forth there were too many issues that needed to be addressed. They seriously need days or weeks to try and get this place in shape. So we just packed up and came home on August 29th. We sent email letting them know were were leaving but didn't hear anything back until I called today to tell them we had sent an email looking for departure instructions.My reason for being so upset is that how was this house cleared to be rented in the first place? Who checked it? If they did they would have seen the trash behind the dresser and the mounds of hair next to the toilet and the beds. You don't pay hard earned money to go on vacation to have to call and have maintenance, cleaning people and pest control to come the day you arrive. These issues should have been addressed before any tenant every stepped foot in this place or any vacation property for that matter. This is not how you do business in the vacation rental industry. This was to be my 60th birthday vacation and I literally could not sleep another night here as no matter house much I tried to clean it, it would take the entire week.Yes, we could have had the cleaning company come in but honestly there really wasn't much they could do as this house had serious neglect. Maybe they have other properties that were better and for $2,800 oceanfront we weren't expecting perfection. Just a clean, safe, healthy place to enjoy my 60th birthday week.
