Hopefully after you read this you will not need to read another review about Gary's. Two nights ago while my wife and I were on our way from Mayland to Georgia to visit a sick relative our car broke down on the VA/NC line during a tornado watch. The good Lord was looking out for us in more ways than one. We broke down right in front of the NC welcome center so we were able to take shelter, it was 2am. The nice attendant allowed us to stay in the family restroom, our "hotel" for the night as you can see. The next morning we discovered how limited our options were as there was basically nothing around for miles. What we did however find was an honest tow truck company who directed us to the most honest mechanic in the country. We figured at first this was a good ole boy connection but boy were we wrong. So Frank's towing transported our car and us to Gary's for just $65. All indications was the alternator had gone up ($1100-$1500 fix on this turbo) and here we are in the middle of no where needing a BMW turbo fixed. Gary looked at the car and said to us I have some good news and some bad news, the alternator did shut down but it is not broke. The problem is a collant line busted and saturated it along with a leaking oil line. The part we needed was over 100 miles away and it is the eve of New Years eve, likely we would be stuck in NC for at least 4 days with the closest hotel 15 miles away. While the repairs might of dropped from $1500 to $500 the stay would of cost us plenty. The lord stepped in again and Gary's employee had a brother coming our way right where the part was located. Gary got the part by 330pm and had us on the road by 5pm. Also during this time Gary knew we were tired and spent, he allowed us to stay in his personal lounge so we could relax and sleep a little. His employee Kevin also took us anywhere we needed like out to get lunch and grab some snacks for later. These guys went above and beyond what anyone else would of done. Plus the fixed a foreign car on a holiday weekend in record time for just $485. Gary could of easily got us for 1500 to $2000 and even I who knows a few things about cars would not of questioned it. Awesome, awesome place and business.My college kid was driving home from Greensboro, NC to Northern Delaware on a Saturday night, when his car - 2008 Nissan died on the side of I-85, about 5 miles south of the NC-VA border. Long story short, the car had thrown a rod (we did not know that at the time). We had no idea where to take the car and who to trust. We read some really good reviews about Gary's Auto Repair so we decided to give it a try.We could not be more pleased. Gary helped diagnose the issue and then helped us come up with a plan after the initial shock. We ended up getting a used motor from a local salvage yard that he trusted and after a couple of weeks we drove back down to NC and picked up the car with a replaced engine. And for a price less than I was expecting.The car is still running great after 2 1/2 months.The icing on the cake, Gary reaching out via email to check up on us!If you ever have automotive needs in the Warren County, NC or Mecklenberg County, VA area I would HIGHLY recommend Gary's Auto Repair to do the work.Service: Engine repair

I was on a road trip with my family and the check engine light came on due to a cylander misfire. We putted into garys and he was able to get us right in. He took care of all 5 of us and a dog and we were in and out in a couple hours at a reasonable cost. Thanks guys for getting us back on yhe road!

Wouldn't go to any other shop. Gary has the patience of a Saint when it comes to little old women that aren't sure if something major is wrong, or it's nothing at all. Most shops aren't like this. What is warren county going to do when he retires?

Friendly staff, very helpful. As a registered NC driver who is living in Richmond, VA Gary's has always been helpful with inspections. I have personally been to Gary's shop twice and I would recommend it to anyone.

My brake line on my F150 blew out at north bend campground at kerr dam. I had almost no brakes, towing a boat, and 4 hours from home. I called gary at 1230 and he said he'd squeeze me in. I drove there 13 miles at about 25mph. His guys almost immediately started working on it and an hour and half later had it fixed. Charged me $125 for labor and $40 for parts. I thought this was very reasonable given my predicament, which they were aware of, and certainly appreciate fast service especially on a Friday afternoon. I wish Gary was closer to my home; I'd be a regular customer for all my repairs. Thanks!

Guess who put diesel in their gas tank on the road from Jersey ? Right , me , these folks got me back on the road after my vehicle was towed to shop Christmas week . There is no better group of people to service your vehicle be it truck or auto ,they are fantastic and got me on the road the next day before noon !!!!

I had to stop here in an emergency situation traveling home from Virginia Beach with Hurricane Florence coming in. It was around 4:30pm and probably close to closing time and they were quick to diagnose and fix the belt for my power steering so that I could get home. Thank God for Gary's Auto!
