There was no one Working the register When I walked in when I checked out, there was still nobody working. The register and the only employee I seen was a woman standing in the same aisle when I first walked in flirting with some customer that was in there.

I went into dollar general to grab a few items. I chose this item in the picture called a Big mama, aka a pickled sausage. When I got home I tried to open the sausage and it was so rubbery that I could not even get it opened. So my common sense told me to locate the expiration date. The item was/ has been on the shelf and expired since August 02, 2021. I have called the store three times, nobody will answer the phone to answer some questions I have. Poor service.

Really like the renovation, but whoever is responsible for sending them stock needs to send what sells. There is too much merchandise for the space, which makes it difficult to get around in the aisles. That's the reason for 4 🌟. The associates are fantastic! Very polite, professional, and they go out of their way to be helpful. That deserves five 🌟. The pothole situation in the entry is a lawsuit waiting to happen. That should be fixed like last year!! That alone would have given this location one 🌟.

They just got remodeled they're supposed to be getting the floors done I think yesterday it looks awesome they just got to get everything on the shelves again and they're back up and rolling staff members are awesome very helpful certain ones as work there for a very long time and I've come to know that my name

I went into the store today and the manager or employees did not know Dollar General was offering a 11 percent discount to military personnel. Amelia Payne, a store employee proceeded to tell me she knew nothing about the discount and started yelling at me on the phone. I called the Corporate Office and the District Manager is going to see why the Newport store does not know about promotions and discounts. The Corporate Office said the employees are not reading their emails and the District Manager was going to handle the problem. Good Luck, I won't be shopping back in this store again, discount or no discount. I will go to WalMart.

I don't have a problem with the inside of the Newport Dollar General.However, every time we have rain, the driveway floods. Ever since this store has opened, this has been a problem. It's very hard to get into the parking lot when there's 6-9" of water in the driveway. And there's only 1 driveway at this store.As big a company as Dollar General is, I don't understand why they can't invest into their facilities. It's only hurting your business at that location.

On 11-28-2019, my husband made a purchase and the staff slammed his change in his hand. when he asked her how her Thanksgiving was she replied, "I haven't had one" in a short snippy tone of voice. She was I'll tempered. This has happened on several occasions. Also, I witnessed an elderly lady come up 5 minutes to closing and the staff would not let her in and they laughed about it as the elderly lady left.

Can usually find a worker , who works for minimum wage way better than Walmart store,there wmoyeea, dear lord please help all the family's that are suffering and can barely put food.on there tables.....please.help these poor kids who suffer for items and clothing they need and are struggling with depression please i beg of u to help out

As long as knowledgeable people like Chris S stay at that store then i will be continuing to use it.... I stopped going a few years ago to newport bc of very rude employees.... But now that the current staff is there im much happier to return and spend my money

I am a big fan of dollar general I shop at every location in near! But today I went in and the store in this location , I have noticed before its messy and unorganized, today it was 10X worse than usual . Everything is in the wrong place and it just looks dirty. Makes me want to avoid this location!

Bathroom was clean. Products were in shelves and in order. They have self-checkout now and I love it. Good experience!

My experience at Dollar General in Newport is always very nice the girls are very nice and work very hard they might need just a tad more help but other than that it's great

This Dollar General in Newport off hwy 70 is terrific. Clean well organized and the workers are very helpful smiling they make u feel welcome
