The store is cool with lots of different things to buy or just browse around. However, it is pretty overpriced, (for example a knife I bought I found online for much less) so make sure to double check that you get what you paid for. Overall tho the store owner was very friendly and nice and it had a nice atmosphere

More than just military surplus. There are a lot of items to choose from. Becky was very helpful and we enjoyed our visit. There are a lot of surprises and you will not see everything in your first visit. If you don't see it out they will locate it for you in the store.

Cool store with a variety of different types of knives and other cool things. The owner was super nice. The only downside is that the merchandise is quite pricey, other than that it’s a great place to come check out!

This was an amazing find on our recent family vacation to the Linville area. My son is a huge military buff and was so excited wandering around in here, he didn't want to leave. Wound up getting him an old cracker jack top and a navy hat with some insignia. They have a whole room dedicated to old uniforms for military, EMT, fire fighters and so forth. There's camping gear, helmets, knives, woobies, and so much more. Had a wonderful talk with the owners about "Tiger cruises" which I didn't even know was a thing, but will be looking into in the near future. I highly recommend checking this place out if you're in their neighborhood.

The customer service is great here. While I haven't purchased anything from this store yet they do have a wide variety of almost everything you would imagine a store like this to have. It's not a place for "everyone" but if you're into military surplus, survival gear or prepping then it's definitely a place you should check out. *They also carry many antique or non-electric small kitchen appliances* The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is due to their prices being a little high (in my opinion) for what you're purchasing. Great little shop though.

The staff (Becky) was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful. I was in the area for training and the weather called for cold, wet and snow. Pack Rats allowed me to be warm and dry. I highly recommend this store.

Really cool store with a surprising amount of stuff. The staff was very helpful and able to help me find exactly what I was looking for. A really neat place to just go and look around too. They kind of have everything.

GREAT SURPLUS STORE, WELL STOCKED!!We were passing through and I decided to see what was there. I was pleasantly surprised to find everything I could imagine wanting to find in a good Army/Navy Surplus store. It was like these stores use to be at PackRats. Everything I asked about, they had it! Awesome place! I will go back to Newland just to go there now!

Wonderful selection and even better prices. Staff was helpful regarding stock and sizing. A great store for genuine issue surplus, commercial sporting goods, and collector’s memorabilia. Visited on the 25th of November, 2019.
