I stopped in here to grab a dog name tag, and was blown away with not only the customer service, but the entire store! It was clean, staff was knowledgeable, quality products with competitive pricing!!! I only wish I lived here so I could support such and amazing store!!!!

I visited Mountain Pets in hope of finding some special food for my senior dog Petunia. In recent months the increase of her arthritis has caused her to lose interest in the chow and treats she's enjoyed for years. The staff at Mountain Pets had experience with just this problem and led me to some healthier foods that would probably appeal to me dear pet. The prices were quite reasonable. I called the store back in just a few hours to tell them how much I appreciated their help. It was the first time she had eaten well in over a month. I WILL go back to Mountain Pets for more of their products.

I've tried to give MP my saltwater fish business for more than two years and I can't do it anymore. Thier salt system is abhorrent! The owner has no clue about salt systems.Nothing but death and nasty tanks. I wanted to buy some frozen food and even that was a struggle so I am done with Mountain Pets and suggest everyone find a different place to get saltwater animals and supplies.

There is a large selection of foods for dogs, cats and birds. If they don't have a particular food in stock, they will try to order it for you. Very accommodating. Highly recommend.

Was excited to check out this store and made the trip from Sylva (1.5 hours). They advertise having many different species of animals, but they do not. Just fish and some rabbits. The employee didn’t know a single thing about fish making it an uncomfortable and disappointing experience. The only plus was that they had a decent variety of freshwater fish.

Love this place! It's like the heart of the town - everyone should stop by. Great selection of products, extremely knowledgable about pets - from fish to reptiles or dogs and cats. Great place to shop for pond supplies, too! Locally and veteran owned, you couldn't ask for better people!!

Been coming in for years while in the area. Love that they always have cool species of both fresh and saltwater fish as well as aquarium plants and coral. Sometimes they have nice reptiles as well (usually typical common species). Great prices, and a perfect stop for pet necessities, feeder bugs, or just to look at aquariums

The house that we moved into in Hayesville a few years ago had a neglected fish pond. A giant carcass of yellow iris roots was floating around on top like a dead animal. There were no fish (thank goodness). The pump, filter & lights all had to be replaced, along with getting the muck & leaves out of the murky water. We worked & worked and managed to get the pond looking like a pond again. We bought fish and water plants from Murphy Pets & Water Gardens. Everyone at the store was very helpful with advice on goldfish. We bought 7 goldfish and now have 12. They seem very content and come over to me when it’s feeding time. If we need water plants or fish supplies, there is only one place to go: Murphy Pets & Water Gardens.

Friendliest, best stocked pet store in the area. I love visiting. The girl at the counter (she's worked there forever, I've asked her name a million times and can never remember) is AMAZING and truly is an asset to the business. It's always a pleasant experience.
