Dr. Van Horn and his staff are wonderful. We just made the full time move here and had not established a vet. After an ER visit in Blue Ridge we were referred to Alpine for further care. They were wonderful to deal with Dr. Van Horn personally called me at 10:30 pm to give me update on my very sick kitty. Entire staff is great and caring.

Called to try to get my dog seen about because she appears to be in pain, and was told that because I've never been there before they couldn't see her till almost two weeks from now. I definitely will not be becoming a client of theirs

We had our cat neutered and declawed a week ago and they did a great job. I especially want to thank Tabitha for keeping me updated. She could tell I was anxious about leaving him over night and she went above and beyond to make me feel comfortable. I would recommend this office for any of your pets needs.

I hit a kitten and took to this place because was closest. This Dr. Tried to tell us the kitten was extremely feral and to put it down!! Thinking this poor kitty just got hit, then taken to strangers place he is scared. Thank goodness I listened to my common sense as well as my heart. This kitten is just adorable!! Within one day he was purring,loving, as gentle as can be. What's wrong with people. I was told this was law to put animals down like this, I've found out that it isn't!! Not when you do not know if it is feral, and you have options of 10day confinement for possible rabies. Second was told he had mites and worms. No, no sign of this. And, kittens nails were clipped!! How could vet not see this??Response to reply from alpine: I am more upset because obviously after taking him home, the very next morning, the kitten was very tame. He was obviously not feral. I understand the health concerns but seems like decision to put him down was being made too quickly. This animal was not dirty, his nails were clipped, and was not thin looking. In fact looked very healthy. When we spoke to health dept as well, they were not recommending putting him down once spoke w them. Just feel possibly some time should be given in such cases to actually see if animal is in fact feral. I liked your clinic and you, but just don't agree with such decisions being made so quickly.

Love Dr Vanhorn and his assistant (the really tall guy sorry can't remember his name but an Awesome guy). Dr.Vanhorn took the time to see my dog Sassy on an emergency visit when he was just getting ready to walk out the door that day. He stayed to help her. I have 4 rescue dogs and 2 rescue cats that I can't always afford to bring them but anytime there is an emergency this office has always got us in the same day. Would strongly recommend this place. I do miss Erica at the front desk as she was amazing but the new lady is wonderful as well.

So thankful for Alpine Veterinary Hospital, what a blessing they are!! We had to put our baby to sleep today and as always they all were extremely sympathetic and kind not to mention gentle with our baby, they truly care! Even though our Copper is gone we left Alpine with a feeling of peace and love. Thank you Dr. Van Horn, Erica, Scott & Michelle, you guys are amazing!!

Doc Vanhorn is a great vet. He's caring, compassionate and friendly. He doesn't rush, takes the time to talk to you and explains your pet's diagnosis, treatment, and care. The staff here is top notch, Friendly, helpful and caring.

Had to meet Dr. can Horn and his staff under the worst circumstances,... we had to put our 12 y/o baby boy to rest. Dr Van Horn and his entire staff were loving and compassionate, made the worst day of our lives bearable. Words can not express.

I was in Murphy on vacation and one of my dogs got pretty sick. She was vomiting and seemed to be having trouble breathing. I rushed my dog to Alpine Veterinary Hospital only to be told that they were booked for the day! There was absolutely no compassion from the receptionist! I explained that my dog appeared to be pretty sick and I was willing to wait until they could fit her in. The receptionist just looked at her appointment book, shrugged her shoulders and said, "We are really booked." All I got from her was information on 2 other clinics, one being almost 20 miles away. She didn't even offer to call those clinics to see who could help.I have never had a veterinary clinic not make the effort to see a sick animal. I've been a pet owner for 30 years and the few times I've had an emergency, my pet has always been seen. I've had scheduled appointments that were delayed a bit because the doctor had to see an emergency case that came in or they slid in an urgent walk-in. Most people are understanding when the health of a pet is at stake. The lack of compassion exhibited by Alpine Veterinary Hospital was beyond belief.I ended up getting the name of a vet from my sister-in-law who lives in a near-by GA town and they saw my pup. Luckily it appears she just ate something that really upset her stomach! Nothing poisonous or life-threatening, thank goodness. I really appreciate this GA clinic showing care and compassion by fitting my dog in, but then, that's how it should be, shouldn't it.

We Always use this vet. They have Proven to be caring gentle kind and affordable over the past 7 years. Its hard to get an appointment but if its an emergency they will squeeze you in.

Dr Gray Heater is a dedicated Dr in this practice. He saved our little dog after not being diogenes with a diabetic condition. She became very ill, near death. He became involved on an emergency visit and we are in a stabilize state and he continues to monitor and care for her currently. Definitely recommend this clinic and Dr Hester.
