I have been at Dickens RV park for 2 years now . The owner is a great guy, and they keep this place very clean . The cost of staying at Dickens RV Park has got to be the most reasonable price . For the most part, it is people who work out of town that stay here . I found it to be very quiet all hour of the day .

We only stayed for two nights passing through. Great for workers and full timers to stay. Good laundry facilities and heated during the winter. ATM on site and how to change machines for the washer and dryers. Ice is there available on an honor System. Showers and restrooms for those who need more space to spread out.

This was the first RV Park we stayed at outside of our home state as full-time RVers. We were apparently naive to think that we could get a monthly stay 3-4 weeks before our trip in the fall near Raleigh. However, Marty was extremely helpful and really fought to find us a spot at her park, which she did! The park and amenities were decent, basically a big open space at the front of an old farm. Mostly full-timers and transient plant workers.Pros:-Marty is great-Cheap monthly rate (FHU)-Easy access to Jordan Lake-Cell service was good for a full-time remote worker-Next door to a large solar array-Laundry facilities were goodCons:-Surrounded by industrial plants-20-25 minute drive to the nearest grocery store

Good place for an extended stay for work in the area or fishing in Harris or Jordan Lake. Good water, power and sewer connections. Don't expect any shady spots. Lots of permanent residents. Everyone we met was very friendly. They also have RV storage. Very reasonable rates. If you are looking for more of a family camping experience, you may want to check out the State parks around Jordan Lake.

We were in a bind trying to find a place to park for a month so we could spend thanksgiving with our son and his family. The owner was very accommodating and got us in with very short notice. Yea it's all gravel, but you have plenty of room, solid power and water pressure, the rate is great, propane on the premises, camp host was awesome. Hard working folks living there on an extended basis. Place is secure, and kept up.

This campground is extremely clean and well maintained. The staff and owner are very accommodating and concerned with their patrons well-being and comfort. The sites are large and easy to get to the connections. There are few trees on the property. The campground guests are a mix of long and short term and are friendly.I would highly recommend this place to anyone. I am planning to stay here again when I am in the area.

It is two parking lots separated by roads. No attention to grass cutting. All utilities are fine and handy. We did not use the laundry.Had a difficult time finding the manager. No signs! Asked one of the guests. Had phoned a few days in advance but numbers listed got answering machine and male who referred me to another number for Marty, the manager. They are at or close to capacity. Was told that construction workers were filling the park for the jobs in Raleigh and other cities near. And the facility has that feel.Internet nothing to speak about. We stayed two nights for $25 each. This is $5 above the published Passport America listing.

This isn't a family fun resort, it's meant as a place for people to either stay overnight while traveling, extended stay while working in the area, or as a semi permanent home. There are lots of couples and families with small children, dogs are allowed, no crime what so ever in the year and half I've been here. I can leave the doors to everything unlocked and feel comfortable. Every person I've met has been very friendly however if you don't want to be bothered nobody will bother you. There's a pavilion with fire pits horseshoes and picnic tables for use by anyone and also a swing set.Yes it is basically a field with gravel but if you feel the need for landscaping features and some marble fountains to park your camper next to go pay double the price somewhere else. You have room for your camper 2 cars and outdoor storage with room to spare. There are showers, bathrooms, laundry machines, propane on site, Wi-Fi, and the owners and manager live on site and are very friendly. Within 10 minutes to 2 LARGE lakes several rivers and multiple boat ramps. Easy access to multiple highways and is fairly central for several areas although it is in a rural area. For the price you can't beat it

We stayed at Dickens RV Park for 1.5 years for work. We absolutely loved our stay at this park. It’s affordable, clean, in a safe area, the owner & the park manager do a great job with managing the park.Dickens RV Park has a laundromat and a swing set for the kids. It’s a no frills campground, which is something our family loves! The sites are spacious and the roads are wide so you can do a “S” maneuver to back-in. There’s plenty of room for two vehicles at your site.Moncure is a wonderful place to visit (and live)! It’s a small, unincorporated community only 30 minutes to downtown Raleigh, 20 minutes to Sanford and 25 minutes to each Cary and Apex. You’re also only 15 minutes away from two lakes in the area — Jordan Lake state park and Harris Lake County Park!If we come back to the Raleigh area we plan on visiting Dickens RV Park again!

The local state park was flooding and I needed to move my camper, I had no choice but to arrive in the dark and the owner helped me get setup in the dark!!! He also answered all my questions about a month earlier when I was doing my research. Sites are pull through. Good facilities with lonnnnng hot showers and nice laundry area and extremly nice people running the place at an unbeatable price!!!!

Quiet place to stay on a Passport America rate. Reason for the three stars: The bathhouse was absolutely disgusting. Avoid if possible. If you intend to use your own facilities, no problem...

Excellent location. Easy access to highways and quite. Folks who run location offer extremely fair monthly rates with propane fill ups and easy access to all facilities . Area extremely quite and a professional environment for the traveling construction crowd.

This park is great! They keep the bath house clean, have a laundromat, ATM, Propane (they come get your tanks, fill them and bring them back to you), etc.I was looking for a place that I could leave the RV/Park/stay for long term (months at a time), as I have family in the area and I visit them on a regular basis. After being in the "city" all day it is so nice to come out to this peaceful country setting. It is so quiet at night that you can hear for miles. They are still very convenient to Raleigh/Durham area as well. Just "hop on" the interstate (speed limit is 70) and you are there in a matter of minutes (20 minutes). Apex. NC is very close and has all the shopping and restaurants you could want/need.Kent (owner) and Marty (park manager) are the nicest people you could ever want to meet. Both live on sight.Things that matter...Lot Size is great. They are all 57 blue stone (great for parking cars and RV's, but hard on bare feet) Grassy areas close to walk the dogs, etc. Largest enough to park your RV with slide-outs and 2 vehicles.Water is good and clean and the pressure is great.Electric is good and clean with no spikes or low voltage (over a two month of watching it)Sewer hookup is 4" and have good threads to "lock in" and leave your line hooked up.TV - You can get about 30+ stations, but there are a lot of repeats (They come from Raleigh and Durham so each has the same shows.Satellite - I have heard no complaints from anyone about trees or other RV's blocking the signal, so you should have no problem.Internet - You can check your email, but don't plan on watching movies. While the park signal is great, they only have so much bandwidth (the provider only provides 12 mbps), so it's not the parks fault, it's all that is available. If you're staying for long term you can have your own internet installed.Cell Phone/Hotspot - You will be way out in the country, I heard some of the other RV'ers saying they didn't get good cell reception (Sprint is one that I heard) I have At&T and it held about half the bars, My "Hotspot" works fine on my AT&T phone linked with my laptop. There is a pavilion that looks like it would hold/cover 100 people and a small playground in the park.Price - VERY REASONABLE, I have stayed at several other campgrounds around the Raleigh/Durham area, Dickens has had the best price/service so far.In general, if you are coming in for 1 night, 1 week, 1 month, 1 year I HIGHLY recommend Dickens RV Park

Bait and Switch! Says $12.50 for PA. We arrived and Marty said that was a mistake. She said normallyIt’s $50/nite and PA price is $25. We paid her $20 to kinda split the difference, and spoke with others later, normal price IS $20/nite. PA should look into this and cut them off. As for the campgrounds, it’s surrounded by industrial looking stuff. It is very ugly. The site was very wide, but consisted of that large and very uncomfortable gravel. It is near absolutely nothing. Would never stay here again.

I had a friend set me up with my reservation. I kind os expected a mud hole type place. It IS kind of in the middle of a cornfield, but it is actually very nice. They have a nice bath house / laundry house. It is fairly clean...at least cleaner than I expected. Unless they have to "double up" RV's, there is PLENTY of room between yours and the neighbor's. They people that run the place may be the owners, or at least relatives, and are VERY nice and friendly. I am here for work at the Shearon Harris Nuclear Power Plant. If I ever come this way again, I will definitely comeback. Oh By the way. Don't expect trees, but they just get stuff all over your rig anyway. They are also doing an addition for more RV sites. This doesn't seem to cause a mess...Yet.

HORRIBLE.. ever seen the movie trailer park boys? Lol.. we stayed 1 hour if that. In a field , NO SHADE AT ALL. NASTY CAMPERS AROUND. fridge and other junk sitting around. NO POND, LAKE, ETC as the pics showed. Very creepy to say the least. The owner was nice. That was all i can say good about it...except she kept staring at my husband eho has cancer...RUN AWAY, DO NOT STAY

Stayed at this park a few times, not a lot of options for the area. Hard to get a receipt for your stay, most parks give you one when you check in. I paid for the month, on three occasions they wanted to know when I was leaving I told them I would let them know when my month was up, finally I told them to give me a receipt for my stay and I would leave and never come back if they would have left me alone I would have stayed another month and the wifi sucks

Marty was very friendly and helpful. However, this is an open field with no shade trees and lots of full time rigs. For our family, it was not the kind of campground we prefer.

This is a nice little RV park. It is awfully open with small lots. There is nothing to do here, no pool or anything. The best part if the park is the manager Marti.

Nice staff, wide spots, all gravel. We wouldn't consider this a children friendly park as there was no playground or other amenities for them.
