I love this location they seem to take pride in what they do and offer, we purchased fish and filter media and all out aquatic needs, never had any problems with fish illness or poor quality aquatic plants or anything at this store location, the employees are very knowledgeable friendly and really to assist. They always have awesome healthy fish store is always clean, checkout always a breeze my daughter love to go with me just to see all the pets

They always have what I'm looking for though I wish they had self checkout bc it always feels like it takes forever for one person to check out. Or more employees to help out. But I do love this store and the well kept cages makes me think they have really great employees who care for the animals. At least I hope they do....there are some horror stories out there.

PetSmart Matthews has the best trainer (Colleen) and groomers and cashiers. Just really friendly competent staff. We don’t like shopping and often buy things we need on Amazon so what keeps us coming back to this PetSmart in particular is the people.

i used to love this petsmart because i always had no issue when it came to either my pets or purchases but that changed today when i was trying to buy some food for my pet and a young man at the register who couldn’t figure out how to help me and after he couldn’t figure out how to help me, he didn’t even bother asking for help to a manager or coworker and then told me it was his first day like come on man. He made my day much more difficult than it should have and on top of that when i went to try and figure something out he places my items elsewhere making it harder for me to checkout. Please do better with your employees .

I LOVED Petsmart.....until they messed up two of my fur babies. The store will not get any more of my $$$$. AND PLEASE, be diligent about who grooms your fur babies. There are some excellent groomers there, and some not so excellent. The puc on the left is pre groomed...the right is post groom. I was so angry and disappointed....not to mention hurt.

We absolutely adore our trainer Colleen. Our golden retriever has been in her classes since he was 9 weeks old. He is now 1 1/2. We are hoping to take him through the AKC's Canine Good Citizen testing and on to the therapy dog program. All progress we have had is because of Colleens caring and informative instruction. She's given us building blocks all along the way to practice at home. The tricks class is incredibly fun and it's like magic, watching your dog learn a trick you thought there was no way he could learn! That feeling of excitement is so fun because Colleen shares it with you, along with joy at the accomplishment. Brain games is a wonderful class as it gives ways to keep your dog mentally stimulated instead of just physically. You will be amazed watching your dogs wheels turning. Colleen is an incredible friend, trainer, dog psychologist and dog parent whisperer all rolled into one and we will train with her for as long as we have dogs!

We just got back from the Petsmart in Matthews. We were getting a spotted gecko for a 11 year old. Abbie was absolutely wonderful. She was extremely helpful and friendly. She answered all of his questions and mine about owning a lizard. Thank you for making his day.

Awesome experience. My husband and I found a baby gecko in a box we brought home from the grocery store that had been refrigerated for over 24 hours. Super small baby. The employees there were super knowledgeable and helped us make a habitat for the little guy. We will be back for all of our animals.

I’m normally not one to leave reviews, but this experience made me want to leave one. I brought our rescue dog in for the first nail trimming since we got her, and I accidentally mixed up where I was supposed to go for the nail trim. Long story short, I went initially to Banfield in the back, and they were only able to cut 3 paws. When checking out, we realized my error, at which point I stopped by the Grooming department on my way out.When I walked in (mind you, everyone was busy in grooming), they quickly helped me out after I explained my situation. They helped my scared dog get her last nails cut, and they did it very quickly. They were super sweet to both myself and her. They by no means had to do any of what they did, but I will 100% be back.I don’t know if anyone will see this, but if any of you groomers do - just know you made my day and I think you’re all amazing people.

I love the Matthews petsmart location! The grooming staff was so nice to me and my dog. I used regularly go to the university city location and the manager in the grooming salon was always so rude and intense. She was rude to other customers and would always question my choices and point out negative things with my dog. The girls in the Matthews salon were so great, gushed over my dog, and even wished me good luck on an interview I had during my dogs appointment. Highly recommend!

I am so disappointed my dog went in to have a full haircut and bath and it looks and smells like they only cut his hair no bath, his feet smells like corn chips. I will never visit this location again. His groomer was Surrell. I will be calling today and complaining because I spent 83 dollars on this service and I feel it wasn’t done and I gave them a $10 tip for nothing. I want my money back or have him given a bath like he was supposed to get. I can tell he wasn’t given a bath he had hair everywhere and this never happened to me before.

We take our dog Cinnamon there once a month for over a year for a bath, brush and nail grind. Cinnamon LOVES going to the groomer, and they do such a fantastic job with her. She always comes home smelling great, and has such soft fur. Everyone who works in the grooming salon are lovely - always greeted in such a friendly manner even when they're absolutely packed, and they always take such great care of Cinnamon. Would give more stars if I could, and PLEASE praise your groomers when you can! They do a wonderful job and we love the salon.
