Had an issue with the car after a tierod replacement + alignment and brought it back to them the next week. They diagnosed and fixed within the hour under warranty. Excellent service. (Props to Vincent who's been working on my car for a year now).They take good care of the car and have fair pricing.

Best pep boys I have ever been to. I paid $95 at my location in Tallahassee (way more than their website said) to get my tires balanced and have had so many issues ever since and when I brought it back to that location they told me I had a $600 issue that I could not afford to fix. I brought my car into this pep boys location in Matthews and this super sweet guy named Vincent told me that was indeed the problem and fixed it for me for free (since I had it under warranty from the Tallahassee location). They are so helpful and nice here and got everything fixed so quickly and fixed the error of the Tallahassee location without trying to scam me out of more money. Definitely go here if you have car troubles!

Pep boys changed my oil and with a coupon the price was really good!Told me about my brakes and tires...i had asked for tire totation but 2 tires need replacing before that can happen. Also suggested I get brake repair soon.Very pleased!

I wanted to like pep boys because its easy to get an appointment and they're probably the closest mechanic to me but I gave them 3 chances in the past year with 3 separate cars and I didn't have one good experience there.First I took my car in to change a tire sometime in late summer 2023 and even though I showed up on time for my appointment I had to wait two hours for them to work on cars that were ahead of me. If you are that slow you cannot book as many appointments as you do. Why did I even have to make an appointment if they were nowhere near schedule? I was treated no differently than if I was a walk in. On the bright side the guy at the front(Vincent) was very polite about it and seemed like he really understood the inconvenience of it all.The second experience I had was just last week I took my girlfriend's maxima to pep boys for an appointment because it was overheating and they called the next day saying to repair everything(the radiator and many hoses and tanks) it would cost over $3,000. Another mechanic did all of the work for considerably less. Also again, they made us wait overnight before they even got a chance to look at the car. What is the point in letting us book appointments on the website if the store is too busy to stay on schedule. The ease of booking an appointment was the main reason I always chose pep boys and its really just a very overly optimistic website.My third experience was today and the last time I will go to pep boys. When I first took the maxima in last week I asked if the man at the front(bigger older guy, not Vincent) could also look up availability on jaguar control arms that I need replaced so I can get an inspection by the end of the year. He seemed annoyed that I was asking him a question about a car that wasn't physically there and kind of brushed it off assuring me that he would need to wait until my actual appointment today so he could use the vin number and find the exact control arms that I need. That would normally be a valid excuse however today when I got there, he looks up jaguar control arms in the pep boys system(without ever getting the vin number) and sees that regardless of which specific control arm I need, they are all unavailable. If this lazy mf would've just looked it up for me when I asked last week I wouldn't have had to waste my time today. Now because of this it cost me one week of my deadline to get the work done so I can get my car inspected, and I was forced to drive my jaguar with bad control arms all the way to pep boys and back for something that could've just been handled prior. I also don't like how despite it asking for information on the website, it always seems like they don't know anything about what I need until I get there and I'm asked questions that they'd know the answer to if they read everything I wrote when I booked the appointment. Even if I didn't specifically ask last week about availability of the parts, it would be much more efficient if somebody were to look up availability based on my appointment, and call me to tell me that they can't get the parts. Instead I wasted my time and they wasted an appointment that could've been for another customer, not that an appointment here really means anything anyways.I will not be back to pep boys and I will recommend everyone I know not to go as well. Overall the actual mechanics here seem like they do good work it's just the management/system itself that I disagree with and I'd like to hope all of these are issues that could be fixed in the future but for me personally, it is time I move on to trying to find a mechanic who I can trust to actually prioritize my needs as a customer.

I was in need of tires and after several quotes I called Pep Boys (Matthews location). It was the best decision. I got an appointment for the next morning. When I arrived I was quickly checked in and only took about 1.5 hours to leave with my new set of tires. The service was great & the price was fantastic. I got several promo discounts and had tires for hundreds of dollars less than what other tire companies were quoting for SUV size tires. I was impressed and have been suggesting them to everyone!Vincent is the manager and he was very thorough and efficient with my service

Ordered tires online on a Thursday. Set a noon appointment for the next day. Arrived and my vehicle was in the bay and being attended to in about 10 minutes. I was out the door in just over an hour. Great job. Didn't try to upsale me or tell them that something else was wrong with my vehicle.

Overall great experience. Made an appointment for 8:30am for 4 tires and alignment. They had the car in and working on it by 8:40. Out the door at 11. Pleased with the pricing, service and time it took. Great staff demeanor and quality work! Be sure to give them an opportunity for your business!

The service was completed promptly, as promised. I appreciated not having to spend hours waiting for my car to be ready.I scheduled my service in the am online and was seen later that day. Their online scheduling was straightforward, user-friendly, and allowed me to book my oil change and state inspection appointment at my convenience.During my visit, there were no surprise charges or attempts to upsell unnecessary add-ons, which was greatly appreciated..... the staff was great too!Thank you!!!

Vincent was awesome. This young man knows what customer service truly means. Even though he was working alone up front he made sure everyone was well taken care of. I definitely recommend this place for your car care needs!

I went for an AC recharge but ended up needing a whole new compressor. Not surprising since my car is 12 years old. They originally told me it should take about four hours but, it ended up being ready the next day. (Probably because they had to order the part). They did have a slight mishap but, they were honest about it and made it right so, overall, I was satisfied.

Having my vehicle in for annual State inspection. Needed a tire replaced, quoted me a fair price and was able to do the work in a timely manner. Other than being irritated by an irrational, argumentative customer and that the space is shared with a car rental company, my experience was good. I do wish they could find a better location not shared with another business.

Tom scheduled my visit and checked me in and he was very friendly and helpful. I came in for my state inspection and they found another issue I had that I had taken my car to three different shops looking for a fix for. Immediately, they came in and told me what the issue was and fixed it same day. So grateful for my car to finally be fixed after months of searching for someone to figure out what the issue was.

Tom at front desk is great but this location is understaffed. I walked in with an 11:30 appt and was told they still hadn’t even started four of the 10a appts!! 2hrs 17m for battery change and state inspection. Owner needs to fund more staff instead of handcuffing Tom and making him miserable. Stop stretching employees so thin that they live stressed just so u can hit a profit metric. Stop trying to recover lost pandemic-era losses at the expense of your supposedly valued staff.

Way too expensive! Get your tires somewhere else. Even with Buy One Get One Free I spent over $1200 on 4 Michelin Defenders to be installed with an alignment.Brakes were another $1200 total.Save yourself some money and go to another shop. I should have shopped around more before settling on this place.

Purchased 4 brand new tires - left and a few miles later the "tire pressure motor problem" light came on. Called, they said drive 5-10 more miles and it should shut off, if not, come back the next day. Did not turn off so I came back the next day, they "fixed it" and I left only for it to come back on a few miles later. Called (had to call multiple times because no one would pick up) and they said come back the following morning. Car also shakes when goes above 55 miles per hour. This is now Saturday morning. I tell them to drive the car a few miles to make sure it is fixed. They calmed it was fixed so I left only for the light to come back on again. I turned around and the guy said they could not figure out what they broke so I had to go to the dealership to run a diagnosis and if they find something, come back and they will fix it. I get to the dealership, they take the car back and immediately notice the 4th tire is the wrong size from the other 3 tires the installed. PLUS they installed tires that are not meant. I had to call multiple times because no one would answer the phone. Spoke to the same guy who I have been dealing with, explain the situation and he claims he is ordering new tires and to call back Monday to schedule an appointment to replace them. Call Monday, speak to someone new who had no idea what I was talking about. There were no notes and definitely no tires ordered. Had to drive on the wrong tires with the wrong size 4th tire for almost a week, return to Pep Boys 4 times for them to fix the issue.Mistakes happen but how can they look at the car multiple times and not notice the 4th tire is a different size and then make me go to the dealership to figure it out.

Encounter a rude lady at hertz rental and had and suddenly a fat dude from pep boys starting shouting at me to walk out .I told him to mind his business at his desk and when I got outside waiting for my ride .This fat dude came right outside and met and wanted to get physical with me.I didn’t know the owner of this place but monsters like that are not suppose to work there

The service was well done, but the customer service was the worst my wife had. I don’t know if the guy was having a bad day, but don’t justify to be rude with her during the drop off processing. Also all my tires came back without the valves caps that I recent replace for new ones. I know this item is not expensive, but they should take care of it. Also the bad experience made any small detail look a big mistake.

One of your employees, a young pregnant woman, walked directly past me while waiting for service at the counterand sat in the back and talk to her coworker while I stood there, waiting for someone to help me, so I just left and had to do the maintenance myself on a fleet vehicle for the sake of time, please hire people that actually care about their job or at the very least can acknowledge a customer that walks through the door and not walk past them, rolling their eyes at the sight of them.

I called to find out the cost to do a brake fluid exchange and was told it would be $69 plus tax, I called again just to verify the price and the person who answered this time, whose name is Vincent told me it was $129. I was dumbfounded, I told him I called an hour earlier and was quoted a lower price. He had the nerve to ask me why I would call again if I had already been quoted a price. This person was beyond rude, he was unprofessional and could use more customer service training. He even used that old line, “ the line is braking up, I can’t hear you “ and quickly HUNG up on me. He picked the wrong person this time because I drove to Pepboys and confronted him. Thankfully, I was able to speak to Tom, the manager who understood my frustration with the disrespectful…*******…… and was able to make sure my experience at Pepboys much more professional.

This past Friday I setup an appointment to drop off my vehicle at 9:30. I arrived on time and was told an hour and a half until pick. I decided to drop the vehicle off while I ran some errands. Arrived at 5:30 to the door being locked and no one in the store. My vehicle hadn't moved all day. This is extremely unprofessional and highly inconvenient. I ask that a GM contact me asap.

DONT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY.Made an appointment to get my vehicle inspected. I showed up for them to tell me on the spot that they wouldn't be able to do the inspection. I had failed before which I understood because my check engine light was on. I repaired the issue and all they had to do was look at the light and see it wasn't on but they instead couldn't make the appointment AND let me drive 30 minutes to their shop just to tell me. Absolutely useless company. The best thing for them would be to go under. There's MANY more shops that do everything they do better. I'll never go to them again and I HIGHLY suggest you don't either.
