We were looking for a nice getaway close to home. The Marshall House Inn was perfect! The room was beautiful with a magnificent view of the river, town, and mountain. We walked downtown for dinner and window shopped. Started the next day waking up to the early morning scenery and a wonderful breakfast. So relaxing and such a pleasant time! Our host was great, making certain we were comfortable and giving us a history of the home. We so enjoyed our time here. The shower, bed, and all furnishings were lovely. We will hopefully return soon! Micah the resident puppy dog was sweet too!

My wife and I stayed at the Marshall House Inn last weekend as we were attending a family wedding at The Ridge in Walnut, NC. We loved our stay at the lovely, quaint and very comfortable B&B. The hosts and their pet dog were very warm and friendly; and they provided us privacy as we went about our daily activities. The room with its own bath and toilet was spacious, clean and well kept. The continental breakfast was just right and the common area gave us an opportunity to meet some of the other guests. The place also was within easy walking distance to several local eating places for breakfast, if you so wish, or other meals. The front porch was a lovely location to spend some unwinding time over a glass of wine with my sister and her husband who were also guests. We will definitely consider staying here again when we have an opportunity to visit the area. We highly recommend The Marshall House Inn.

We stayed in the very spacious Room 3 with great views of downtown Marshall and the French Broad River. Our splendid hosts have a historic home that combines classic character and stylish, contemporary decor. Our bed was very large and very comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed the homemade granola, local coffee, and self-serve snacks and beverages available anytime in the common room. It is a quick walk to several shops and restaurants. My absolute favorite place was the huge covered front porch with very comfortable furniture for lounging and reading. We would love to come back!

Each of the multiple times we've stayed at the Marshall House Inn we've experienced consistently excellent service as John and Kerstin welcome us to their beautiful home, ensuring that we have everything we need for a comfortable stay, offering great suggestions for restaurants and activities. We love each of the four rooms with their distinctive furnishings, comfortable beds and linens and well-appointed bathrooms. Lounging on the inn's big porch overlooking a fantastic view of Marshall, the Madison County Courthouse and French Broad River is a vacation in itself! We'll most definitely be back.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful home. Our room overlooked the river and downtown street. The bed and linens were amazingly comfy and everything was spotless. The hosts were great as well. We enjoyed strolling through the shops in Marshall and taking in views of the French Broad river. It was a lovely weekend. I would highly recommend the Marshall House Inn!.

We have had the pleasure of staying at the Marshall House Inn three times over the past 4 years. It is a charming get away not too far from our home and Asheville that offers us the chance to relax and enjoy the beauty of downtown Marshall. The rooms are spacious and well decorated, and the level of care and dedication the owners John and Kerstin put into the property is clearly visible.I'm so pleased to see that they have been able to weather through the pandemic and have adjusted their breakfast offerings to cater in a safe and delightful manner for the guests.Stay here. You will love it as much as we do!

We had a perfect weekend stay at the Marshall House Inn! We stayed in room 2 and had a great view of downtown Marshall. The room was also nicely decorated with a comfy bed. It was a short walk to downtown restaurants and shops - and there were great options for a light breakfast provided at the Inn. Overall it was an incredibly relaxing experience!

An absolute jewel in Marshall, NC. Beautiful home with a lovely artistic and historical aesthetic. The proprietors, John and Kerstin, were very accommodating and gracious. Nice touches ranged from locally crafted coffees, granolas, wine offerings to the charming Inn mascots. Our room was beautiful and accommodating - Stocked mini fridge, Bluetooth speaker, white noise unit. Large spa-like rain shower. Location perched above the city of Marshall behind the courthouse Bell Tower, which was a very lovely treat in itself. We walked behind the Inn into the small hillside neighborhood - enjoyed this so very much! Every aspect was perfect. We will definitely be staying here again.

One of our favorite places ever. The drive up to the house is gorgeous and everything is so neat and organized, beautiful gardens and outdoor spaces overlook the town and river. Fireflies glow at night while we sat on the porch and enjoyed a great bottle of wine. The rooms are decorated with high end linens and beautiful vintage furnishings. The views are wonderful and I wish we could visit more often. Y’all are the best, thanks for having such a great place for people to stay.

Beautiful historic home. The rooms are spacious and have great views of the French Broad River. We are repeat visitors and every room we’ve stayed in has been clean, and the beds are very comfortable. I’m also a fan of the big front porch. We spend a lot of time there!Plenty of good local spots to shop, eat, or grab a coffee that you can walk to.Our son is a student at Mars Hill University so this is the perfect place to stay when visiting him! The owners are so kind and never mind our son hanging out with us at the Inn.

Our room was ready when we got there. We were greeted by John who was super friendly. He also gave us a brief history of the house and the area. It was a short walk down the hill to the quaint town of Marshall. Everything was clean and cozy. The shared dining space upstairs was fully stocked with healthy snacks and drinks. There were also pamphlets and a board with local areas to visit. The view was lovely and the amenities in and out of the room were perfect. We stayed in room #3 which had lots of space, plenty of windows and a rainfall shower head which we loved. There was even a heater which we definitely used. I loved a lot of the products that were stocked that I immediately came home and ordered the body wash as well as the hand soap. I even purchased the yogurt they had stocked which is my new favorite. The patio had plenty of space to sit and enjoy the daytime views as well as the night sky. The fireplace was lit at night and open for you to enjoy if you wished to. It truly was a memorable experience and we would definitely return in the future.

We LOVED our stay at the Marshall House Inn and plan to return soon! The hosts are wonderful, the inn is beautifully decorated, quiet, and has a gorgeous view, and the rooms are spacious and comfortable. There's awesome rafting and hiking nearby, and you can walk into town and have a great meal and do some shopping.

My wife and I stayed here for two nights and fell in love! So much charm! The house was extremely prepared and clean (we are very picky people). Our host was very accommodating. Sunrises and sunsets were just incredible both in our room and on the porch. We stayed in room #1. It was a huge room and had great views and furnishings. The breakfast was great and extremely healthy. The only drawback was we stayed Mon/Tues and many things are only open wed-sat. However, we used our time to just relax, hike and go for strolls through town. Thanks to the host for such an enjoyable stay and time in Marshall.

It was a great stay. We were grateful that John, the Innkeeper, greeted us even though we arrived later than the check-in time.We were surprised that this Inn was originally built in 1903 so it’s a historic place. We loved the porch as well as the amenities. Instead of feeling like we were at a hotel, it felt like we were at a friends house. Please read the entire welcoming email for important information about the Inn.The only concern that we had was ladybugs in our rooms. But it was not a big deal, we understand that we were in the middle of the mountains. That being said, Blue Ridge Parkway is only 30 minutes away. As for food, Star Diner is a signature restaurant with just a 5-minute walking distance from the Inn. If you’re looking for a quiet yet scenic place to stay, the Marshall Inn would be an excellent choice.

My wife and I stayed at the Marshall House in early August 2021. We absolutely love Marshall, NC and picked a great place to stay. The room was well furnished and provided great views of Main Street and the river. The hosts were phenomenal. A couple of months later and we are still itching to return. Stay here, enjoy walking around the town. All the businesses are super friendly, knowledgeable and welcoming.

My husband and I stayed at the Marshall House Inn to kick off a friends' getaway a bit early, and we were DELIGHTED with our stay! Incredible views from our room, of the adorable town of Marshall, the river, and hills. The room was spacious and impeccably decorated, the bed was incredibly comfortable. The hospitality was top-notch without being intrusive (like some other bed & breakfasts we've stayed at). The owners have done an incredible job melding historical and modern elements in this inn, creating a feeling of stepping back in time, but with all of the convenience of modern accommodations (king bed, comfy linens, in room temperature control, cell phone charging outlets, a large selection for the continental breakfast, etc.)We will definitely be returning for another stay! :)

What a pleasure! The Marshall House Inn is chic, yet cozy. Beautifully-renovated historical building, decorated with interesting antique/vintage objets d'art . Many of the vintage items are railroad-themed - the rooms overlook the rail line along the French Broad river with a lovely view. My room was large and the bed was incredibly comfortable! The bed linens, towels and bathroom amenities were all luxurious. Locally made coffee and granola at breakfast were divine. I only wish I could have stayed longer and investigated more of Marshall. The innkeepers were incredibly warm and helpful, too!

It doesn't get better than this. The Inn is full of thoughtful detail, generous amenities, and exquisite taste. Stepping out onto the grandiose victorian front deck you can see the town from above in it's entirety, and they've preserved the home such that there's pure continuity on your very short walk into town from your room. You won't regret a trip to Marshall House Inn!

This is an absolutely beautiful place to stay. The service was fantastic with a delicious breakfast every morning and a wonderfully well kept house. An ideal mix of eclectic and classic styling with all the modern amenities. The location is perfect for visiting West North Carolina. We managed to make eventful day trips between Asheville and Cherokee but could have easily made an entire trip out of relaxing on the porch and enjoying the view of the town of Marshall, NC and the French Broad River. We stayed in room 4 which was perfect for two adults and a 3 year old and could have comfortably fit several more people.

Marshall House Inn is a quaint little Bed & Breakfast in Marshall NC. My husband was a little put out without television, but soon realized how relaxed he could be just reading. The room was perfect lovely linens on the very comfortable bed, the bathroom was wonderful up to date shower still keeping with the antique look. Breakfast was delicious, fresh berries, quiche, banana bread. The coffee was very tasty just only warm at best I like my coffee hot. I think using the thermal canisters would work better for keeping the coffee hot and fresh. We were in Marshall for a wedding I found it difficult putting on makeup and doing my hair as the lighting was dim and there really was no place to sit and put my mirror. I was hoping to meet both innkeepers , however we did get to meet John and he was very nice and very helpful. I hope we get to visit again.

I had a wonderful time at the Marshall House Inn! The inn is absolutely stunning. It is obvious that a lot of time and love has been poured into the renovation of this home, with the perfect mix of historic details and modern amenities. The location is perfect for exploring Marshall. I stayed in Room 1, which offered a beautiful view of downtown. Breakfast was delightful (the brickleberry scones were PHENOMENAL). I cannot wait to book my second stay!

Our stay was wonderful. The Inn itself is lovely and Marshall is a beautiful and small mountain town. The Continental breakfast is the best you'll ever have with fresh scones, quiche and farm fresh eggs boiled to perfection. We spent every morning watching the sunrise from the front porch. The inn is in close proximity to great hiking as well as lots of water sports and fishing.

The house was lovely restored and tastefully decorated. We appreciate the hospitality of the host and enjoyed the quietness of the small town. The two bedroom unit suited our family perfectly. The tranquil air from the river mixed with the aroma of the night-time tea transformed the huge front porch into something soft and relaxing. Thank you.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Marshall House Inn. John and Kerstin are extremely nice, polite, and personable inn keepers and made us feel perfectly at home. The Inn has great views, offers a very nice continental breakfast with local goods (the quiche was great!), and our room was extremely comfortable and modern. In addition, it was decorated for the holidays in a way that felt very festive. The Inn is located a very short walk from the main street in Marshall, and is situated almost directly in the middle of town. The locals were all really friendly and welcoming, as well. Our stay in Marshall was more than we had hoped it would be, and we will definitely be coming back.

We had such an enjoyable and welcoming stay at Marshall House Inn! Over a week later and we’re still smiling about it. The décor was spot on throughout the entire house. Most places we’ve been leave us yearning to quickly return to the comforts of our own home. This beautifully comfortable inn left us wishing we could stay longer. Well done.

We had a wonderful stay. We were in Room 1 and found everything perfect. We also enjoyed sitting on the front porch at sunset in July overlooking the Town of Marshall and the French Broad River. Marshall is a hidden gem as well the Marshall House Inn. A four minute walk puts you in the heart of the town. We plan to return on our next trip to see the Great Smoky Mountains.

My friend and I stayed at Marshall House Inn last night. We stayed in a charming room with a very comfy king bed, an updated bathroom, wifi, and great views of the French Broad River and the town of Marshall below. There was a common area with hot tea, coffee, snacks, etc.. The owners were very helpful and friendly, but not intrusive at all - they even invited us to go see live music in town. The historic interior was very warm, inviting, and attractive -- it reminded me of B&B's I've stayed in in Europe. The owners definitely have a flare for decorating and they have really filled this home with great energy. We really enjoyed our stay!!
