Sadly an absolute disaster. You can't walk down any isle and see both sides. I hate to see a store like this! So sad... many upset customers during my quick shop. I had been warned by the community, but it was so much worse to see in person.

Walked in and nobody said anything about closing early. Go down one isle and the lady tells us we need to get out because she is closing at 2:30 in the day. Then continues to yell that we need to get out now that she will call to get us removed. We were in there a max of five minutes. Very disappointed. And was very unprofessional.

Went to the store here in Mars Hill on a Tuesday started to walk in and the guy comes out grabs a chair outside to carry in looked at me and said we're closing sorry. This was at 5pm in the evening. Something else needs to be put in this stores place! You never know if it's going to be open or not. Then when you do get in the place is so piled up you can't push a buggy around most you have to turn sideways to get down an isle there so packed full'. Use to love this place!!!!! Not anymore it awful!!!!

I had bought a used grill off a friend and he gave me a empty tank to exchange I went to the store in Mars hill it felt light but never having to deal with propane before I didn't think anything of it the tank looked clean and new with a plastic blue cap on it . I hooked it up at my earliest convenience I found out the tank was not even 1/2 fulli was called stupid for not knowing how much it should of weighed and refused a refund or exchange. I would not shop there again

The staff are great. Always helpful. Stock is regular dollar store merchandise. Best coffee price. Some items much cheaper than across the road. Only issue is that computer system running the register is down a lot. Not staff fault. Manager has tried to get issue corrected. Maybe issue with phone lines connection, that part of town not yet fiber optic.

Staff was extremely rude to me. She had something rude to say about my family without me saying a word to her. Wish I got her name but it is not worth wasting energy being mad especially someone that is clearly unhappy with themselves. Im gonna be praying for her that she find happiness within.

CONS: Sale items did not register on sale. Cashiers seem to want to be anywhere other than where they currently were. The aisles are narrow and usually blocked with inventory to be shelved.PROS: Parking is easy. Prices are great and inventory expanded which explains the "cramped" feeling of the store due to corporate wanting to make more money while refusing to invest in more square footage of store therefore eliminating any possibility of a positive shopping experience at this particular Dollar Tree. Did I just slipped a "con" on the "pro" side, Ooops.

I really like the Dollar General in Mars Hill NC. I have been there twice recently & both times the employees on duty were VERY professional & very polite. Any questions I had were answered regardless of what had to be done to get the answer. I REALLY APPRECIATE this level of Customer service & it's the type of C.S. that will keep me coming back. One great place!👍😊

For the first time in years this store seemed more like a store and less of a warehouse. You can actually get up And down the aisles. Decent selection for a quick shop. Wear your mask.

The store us coviently located from where I live and the staff is very friendly.... But I don't go as often as I could because the store is always such a mess ..... This makes it difficult to shop because what you are looking for may be out of place and sometimes we don't have time to search for items we need ..... The store was remolded about 3 months ago and it looked great for a while but for whatever the it has slipped back into the condition it was before the remodeled.

I went in the store yesterday 3/21/15 around 5pm on a Friday and I was in shock! along with most every other customer in the store. Not only were the shelves extremely unorganized and trashed but there were items all over the floor, there was u boat stocking cart blocking the main isle, Rolltainers blocking paths, regular shopping carts with junk in them blocking paths, trash all over the place, the check out area was trashed and unorganized, worst of all the new manager was outside smoking, just like she is every time I go in there. The cashier was helpful and kind so that gets 1 star. I use to work for Dollar General as an Asst. Manager, I know what it takes to stock and keep a store clean and shopable, it's not that hard, if you just do what you gotta do and don't waste the day setting in the office or standing outside smoking.

Well the store has gotten better about stocking and keeping stuff out of the isles , but they are not enforcing mask or traveling in the direction of the arrows .

Not kept up, isles are always clogged and trash will be scattered across the floor. Also always seems to be short staffed. Must be a managment issue for a store to be so dirty (not to mention I always find out of dates when I enter this store)

Friendly staff and happy to help people. Love to get my supplies there. They know my face and are always on the lookout for what I want if it's not in stock.

My friend and I were forced to leave when we came in with our service dogs. I am disabled and my dog is a medical alert dog. The manager ignored the laws that I gave her and was extremely rude and pandering. I was told to leave multiple times while I remaind calm and told her that her actions were against NC and Federal law and that she could not ask me to leave because I was disabled and had a service dog. I told her I would contact the police for the discrimination of me and my medical equipment. The Mars Hill Police were contacted and they are getting the laws together to go educate the management. I will be filing a complaint with DG corporate office as well as the DOJ. Every other business I have been to the past 2 years are at least educated enough to know that online registration for service dogs are scams and hold no legal standing and that there is no registration or certification for service dogs and asking for my documentation and paperwork for my dog is against federal law. And by the way, Dollar General, it is a class 3 misdemeanor for denying access to a disabled patron and their service dog. If anyone in this area has a service dog I would highly recommend staying away from this location until the staff receive adequate education on service animals. No one deserves to be humiliated for being disabled and forced to leave a store because of their medical equipment. If you wouldn't ask someone to leave because of their wheelchair then do not force someone to leave because of their service dog.

This store is lacking customer service. Also, items are rarely stocked. But they do have good deals. Be sure to check expiration dates on food items. Overall it's okay.

Got there at 2:40 on a Friday and there was a sign on the door saying they would be closed from 2 :00 to 4:00 😕 I totally get that the world is short staffed but I have to say I've never seen a chain store Just put a handwritten sign on the door that they're closed

Awful customer service. Couldn't hardly get through the store with a buggy due to the mess and boxes that were packed and piled in the middle of the Isles and the employees, especially the cashiers love to stand around staring and gossiping about WOULD NOT recommend this store to NOT ONE PERSON I KNOW!!

Great place to grab a few items quickly. However sometimes it takes a while to checkout if no one is at registers or large lines when only one at register and a rush if people after work or sat.

I pretty much only come here to drop off my FedEx shipments, but the folks here are always helpful and kind. Sometimes there's a long line and only one register working, but that's typical for small town budget businesses.

Place is over packed with items-to the point items are on the floor and where there might be one item, the other 5 are somewhere else because there was no room for more of the identical item due to abundance of surrounding items on the shelf.
