You could not find a better campground any where. The cabins are a real delight being clean and having everything you might need, from frying pans to a toaster. I was surprised at having everything we needed except food. The manager is wonderful and very helpful, always asking if she can help. I rate this KOA with 5 stars and 10 tents.

Nice cabin on the water with plenty of room for me, my brother and dog. Pet friendly and easy to find. Nice kitchen with everything you need for a couple of days or longer.Unfortunately the cabin is crammed in between another cabin and an RV site so zero privacy. RV campers next to us leaned their bicycles up against our cabin, ran their motorcycles in the evening and morning in front of the cabin. Total disregard for people next to them. Campfire right next to our window and talking throughout the night loud enough to be heard in the bedroom. It’s a shame you can’t fix discourteous. KOA staff was amazing and friendly though and the laundry area was clean and the washer and dryer worked well.

Perfect small campground that make you feel like your camping and not in a big parking lot. A few circles of spaces around a large play area in the center with a very clean and refreshing pool with chairs and umbrellas. The owner keeps the area in top shape mowing, trimming, taking care of vacant sites. (He really needs to give himself a break!) The staff was super friendly and even cam by a couple times to see if we needed anything. The sites are a little on the close side but the people there were all respectful with no weekend loud people. The bathrooms are on the older side but kept clean. Large 1 acre dog area and nice walking along a creek side.

This campground is beautiful, clean, has great amenities, & wonderful service. I consider it a secret gem of NC! I almost don’t want to write a review so it doesn’t get overbooked… The wildlife is thriving (watch for the groundhogs & bunnies) the grounds are well kept, it is dog-friendly & the staff are kind, considerate & accommodating (we loved Ms. Dee & Matt)- we will be back every year with the whole family! Thank you for a relaxing stay KOA of Murphy!

We have stayed at this campground several times. The staff is always very friendly! The campground is well maintained and manicured. The pool area is always clean and inviting. The owner is always around making sure that everything is superb and that guests have everything they need. We really like the deluxe sites with the patio sets and fire pits, and they have quite a few of them....more than I have seen at some other campgrounds.

Today is our one year RVING Anniversary. Wife and I got to this RV Park late last night ( our first time getting in late to a RV Park at night). When we got here late last night drove in with all my lights on ( bar lights) because it's kind of dark ( not much lights) the host Dee and her friend met with us, and took us to our site and was very professional and friendly and helpful and respectful. Helped us back in to our site. This Park is a little tight but is very BIG RIG FRIENDLY TOO.

A somewhat dated KOA park close to Murphy NC. The washrooms were not heated during our stay in mid March and the facility itself was definitely rustic with mismatched but functional sinks and showers. Given enough time, the showers were at least acceptably warm. The laundry facilities were good and reasonably priced. The RV sites themselves were good, level and nicely maintained. There was daily maintenance activity where you could see effort being made to improve the sites and access roads. Generally we had no real problems with this location and would gladly stay here again if we were in the area.

Had such an amazing week at this well maintained KOA campground. We definitely did not want to leave! We had the most perfect and level site that directly backed up to Valley River. It was so beautiful, tranquil and peaceful.Matt (owner) and Dee (host) were nothing short of nice, friendly, accommodating and amazing! Our dog Cooper absolutely loved the acre dog park where he ran his heart out. This was our first visit but it won’t be our last! Thank you for an awesome week! It was exactly what we needed! Until next time… 😎Bob & Sue S.

I cannot speak highly enough of this KOA. The very best people I have ever encountered- friendly, kind, helpful and as hard working as they come. The location is as perfect as you can get. Close to downtown Murphy and Andrews. If you like casinos, Harrahs is a mile away.Campers are escorted to their site. The grounds are meticulously maintained. The pool is sparkling clear.Bathrooms are cleaned multiple times a day. Laundry is super clean and very inexpensive.Playground with lots of activities and a game room as well.2 dog parks - one super big so your dogs can run to their hearts content. A smaller one is separate so you don’t have to chase all over.Once again, the standout is the people who make you feel like family. Thank you Kat and Matt for a wonderful vacation.

They named this place perfectly! 1 of the most peaceful campgrounds we've visited. The staff are super friendly and helpful. If you are looking to relax and enjoy beautiful scenery this is the perfect place. Located approximately 1 mile from the casino and near downtown Murphy for great dining choices.

I really really loved getting to stay here! The staff was super friendly and helpful! There's a nice little river to go tubing in or splash around for a bit and also a nice pool and as far as covid goes it wasn't too busy so I appreciate that. The laugh is nice and it wasn't too big so I created a nice cozy feel. Also loved how large the dog park was our dog loved it too!

This was our first Koa experience. It was fabulous from the moment we pulled in ... greeted, given our info, chauffeured to our spot, he helped us back in, wood delivered by the sweet lady who worked there within 10 mins of us being there. Pool was nice. Didn't get to check out the game room, and the store visit was after hours so we didn't get to go inside. But... the park itself is very nice. The dog area was huge and Charlie loves that she could run free finally at a campground. Thanks for making it a wonderful time for us. We will be back

One of the best campgrounds we have stayed at. We had a spot right on the river which was absolutely gorgeous. Matt & Jenni were wonderful hosts and super friendly. Matt was constantly working picking up garbage, delivering propane tanks and firewood and taking care of the grounds. Campground is well taken care of; clean and beautiful. One of the best things about this campground to us was that their doggie area was over an acre of land. Most campgrounds either have a tiny little run or nothing at all. This was a huge fenced in piece of land where our dogs could run off leash and play.We stayed there during Thanksgiving. Matt & Jenni hosted Thanksgiving dinner for all the campers staying there during the holiday. They provided the turkeys, stuffing, gravy, sweet tea and paper products. Everyone who attended brought a dish to share. I made sweet potato casserole. It was such a wonderful time and everything was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Our party of 3 spent Thanksgiving week here. Matt, Dee, Lisa and Keith made us all feel welcomed to the park. All amenities worked and were easy to access. This place was close to all of the activities that we had planned. Thank you all again for a wonderful week.

The campsite was nice and the lady checking us in was very nice. Location was wonderful! Our cabin, #4 was lacking!! Although our friends were to join us over the weekend, one would have had to sleep in a loft I couldn’t sit on the floor upright in and the other on the hard jackknife sofa. They didn’t come. They had one small space heater for the entire cabin. The other 3 units had heat built in. It was about 33 degrees the third night there. They knew the temperature and that there was only the one. (Hubby didn’t want to bother them late for another one)The sheets left in our room didn’t fit our bed and popped off to leave us on the ill fitting plastic sheet. We changed to the ones in the loft that did fit the next night. The second night there, a tropical storm came through. If the windows had been locked, the bottom left window wouldn’t have literally blown off the tack and on me while sleeping. My husband simply put it and the blinds back up and we went back to sleep as best as we were able.Beautiful surroundings, just horrible cabin. The dirty flooring, the leak by the air conditioner, super small shower etc... It really needs an update. While my husband didn’t want to make a fuss while there, I called to let them know once home today. Hopefully to save someone else going through what we went through. We’ve stayed at MANY KOA’s across the country. Nothing remotely was like this.I didn’t want to write this, but after calling and talking to the manager, I felt I needed to post this based on the lackadaisical response.***note the owner's sarcastic response..... over a year later....***AGAIN.... every other KOA campground where we have stayed all across the country have been consistent and wonderful!

Nearly perfect last minute getaway! We had such a nice time at Peace Valley KOA. First time experience and we’re definitely coming back. We were traveling with an elderly retired service dog and my new young trainee service dog (not ready for full public access), and it was difficult to find somewhere to stay, last minute, that would be ok. I’ve never paid attention to this before, because my old dog has had full public access for 10 years! This is a temporary issue for us, but even when my young dog is finished training, we’ll be looking for KOAs versus hotels from now on. Peace Valley in particular was so chill and beautiful. We stayed in a deluxe cabin, literally steps from river access. It was clean (I’m a clean freak, so I really mean clean!), and really well stocked. We only ate out once - it was so nice to fix meals and eat on the screened porch. There was lots for us to do right there - with dogs (river exploring, HUGE clean dog park, riverside walking trail) - and without (outdoor pool, arcade/poolroom). The area has a lot of NC mts type experiences, though we didn’t go anywhere. Our cabin was certainly “rustic” - like it’s still “camping” so the internet access is spotty, and the air conditioning is not super great when it’s 90F - but we just picked up a box fan when we went grocery shopping- and I was mostly outside anyway. :) Thank you again, and we’ll be back soon!

This place was awesome! Stayed 3 days here, beautiful setting, super nice staff and lots of trails and falls to visit within an hours drive. The pool was clean, and the camp showers & bathrooms were nice as well. Bagged ice, firewood, laundry, and sundries on site for good prices. They even let me borrow their shopvac to clean up some glass I accidentally broke in my car! I would definitely recommend this KOA if you're in the area.

We visited last weekend! The campground is so clean and organized. The owner Matt met us when we came in and helped us park our 42 foot fifth wheel on a beautiful site by the river. They have a really nice area for the dogs to run too! My 5 year old loved the playground and game room! & my favorite thing about this campground is the clean bathrooms! I would recommend this campground to anyone and can’t wait to go camping at this KOA again very soon!

My husband booked a spot to camp in his motocross van with a friend who would be in a tent a couple weekends ago for two spots for one night. The friend ended up not being able to go so my husband called the campground and they told him they wouldn't refund him but they said they would be able to move his reservation to this weekend but for one spot for two nights due to the price difference. He agreed...but they ended up charging him another deposit. He showed up yesterday and they had the reservation back to being two spots for one night in an RV spot. Which, my husband and his friend said they could make work. But he wanted his extra deposit back she said that would be fine...but instead she actually charged him yet another deposit. (Three deposits at this point). Then, after charging my husband again, the office lady told my husband he was not allowed to stay in his van because this was a 'family campground' and he would scare the families. Mind you people build out vans to camp in...and my husband in no way looks like a dangerous person. She finally agreed to let him stay but moved him to a spot in the tent section which was apparently closed, so it wouldn't be so public.Fast forward, my husband and his friend went to get dinner and came back and were met at the front gate by the same lady who tore into them again now telling them that they were taking up two spots because he had placed something on a picnic table that he thought was on his spot. She also told him again that he couldn't stay in his van even in the "unopened" tent spot she gave him. This was at 10pm at night when no one would see him anyway. My husband told her to make it easy on her he would just leave and she could refund him. Which has not happened yet.We always stay at KOAs but have never been treated like this.**Update my husband actually offered to put a tent up "in their one and only tent site" and when he hadn't gotten it up before going out to dinner she called him a liar when he got back. But, you have to love the sarcasm laced response ... Judging by other reviews this is not the first time people have been treated poorly.

What a beautiful campground. The owners and staff are outstanding. Clean sites. Dog areas are clean and well kept up. We were in Cabin 4 peaceful lot right on the river. Very impressive view. 5 stars all the way.
