Even though it's small, this was a great place to enjoy eating outside with a great view of the sound! Their bartender made a delicious peach on the beach and the bang, bang shrimp and beef taquitos from their food truck were fantastic! Not very crowded, but they had a great band playing. A welcome change from big crowds and very loud music!

Stop here, by boat or car, let the kids or dogs stretch their legs & swim while you take a break from driving. Grab a bite to eat and relax to live bands or the sound of the water. Beautiful outdoor & indoor seating area. Rent a kyak or paddle board and learn within their shallow inlet. Kids as young as 1/2 can safely swim with floats. Bring giant floats, put their floatopia on your event calendar.Fairly prices, relaxed atmosphere, great food and great people. All the employees were friendly and helpful. The doors on the wall within the building have beautiful wall paper over them, open them to check out their selection of cold drinks. Events all summer long. Check out this local hot spot.Owned and operated by a father son duo and their doing a fantastic job!Kid-friendliness: The kids have an amazing time here. Perfectly shallow for water play. They can run out their energy and have 🍕. Make sure you bring some floats!

Small town feeling with a beautiful view of the Currituck Sound. David and his team really go above and beyond to come up with fun events that allow the kids and adults to both have a blast. Food is great and more than just fried bar food. We love popping in for fire-pit Fridays (and burger specials) after a long week or pulling the boat up to their brand new dock for a quick sandwich.Nothing compares to listening to live music on the water with friends as the sun goes down and the suntan starts to sink in.

Updated: I just tried some of their broccoli and cheddar soup and even delivered, it showed up still steaming and sooo good! I love the vibe and atmosphere here. They offer many amenities and awesome events and entertainment weekly.Kid-friendliness: Amazing place for kids to get their feet wet, swim, kayak and paddle board.

Stopped here with my wife a couple weeks ago on the way down south. Place has potential but clearly a disorganized mess. Didn’t know how to order food, or where to go. Pizza was tasteless. Bartenders were great, seemed to have a lot on their plate as the evening picked up. They always made us feel welcomed. We were confused when there was a rush of people and the chef or manager was drinking while the bar was swamped. I noticed him yelling at the bartenders too while they were helping multiple people at once. As someone who worked in the industry in my early years, this would never slide in any normal establishment.Overall the place needs a total redo… has great potential on the water. Was confused to whether it’s a bar or connivence store. Management clearly needs a change or this place will fall apart when summer picks up…. will be stopping at frog island instead.

Took the kids and dog just to see what this place was about and didn’t disappoint!!!! The kids took a quick swim while we were enjoyed a drink. Everyone was so nice… met new people and sat at one of the picnic tables overlooking the water. A couple came up on their jet skis to have a drink as well. This is a gem and thank you for opening so close to us!! ;)

Ordered 16 inch pizzas got 12inch pizzas. When I brought it back in to tell them the pizza was not 16 inches I was told ohh the boxes are 18inches and the made the pizza their self it's definitely 16inch. When I made it home I discovered I was correct the box was 16 inches and the pizzas were 12 inches. Would not recommend getting pizza unless you want to pay more for less 4 inches is a big deal my opinion. Called them once I measured they said they would correct it by 1 free 16 inch pizza however I drove 20 minutes to pick the pizza up and 20 minutes back to my house. So now I'm supposed to drive another 40 minutes total for what could be another 12 inch pizza? Yeah definitely not just mad I gave them the opportunity to correct it while I was there and they made up some storey on how they ordered 16inch boxes and got 18 inch boxes when the box was in fact 16 inches and the pizza was only 12. Pizza don't shrink 4 inches in the oven , and if it does you should make it 20 inches to compensate. Also I'm so sorry you felt the need to lie to your customer about the box situation.

First weekend for the buffet. The drinks and overall service were good. The buffet itself was underwhelming. We ended up getting some bacon and hash browns. It seems the food truck couldn't replenish the buffet items in a timely manner. A handful of folks came in only to be met with limited buffet options. We enjoyed the breakfast the last time we came in before it was buffet style. Don't think we'll be returning for breakfast.

First time visiting the trading post for breakfast. Nice atmosphere and employees were good. Went with other people. We were all disappointed with the food. Food came out very cold and hard. Toast was just white bread. Waitress said it is only Like 23 degrees in the food truck. If they brought out the food to some of us right away it would of been at least edible. The waitress was nice enough to take my breakfast off the bill. She fixed my friends bill too. I am going home on a empty stomach. Giving 4 stars because overall a nice place..just fix the food issue.

Amazing job turning this landmark old store into a happening waterfront gathering place. The food truck food is excellent and the beer is ice cold. We have came over several times by boat to listen to live music and relax. The bartenders are great and keep the fluids flowing. Looking forward to getting back over this weekend.

Fun place! We met some other MINI owners on a Saturday. We had good food and conversation inside while looking out on the beautiful sound. We're looking forward to warmer weather again when we can launch our kayak from there and enjoy more time! Our 105 mile loop from VaBch and then over the Knott's Island/Currituck Ferry with brunch at the Trading Post made for a great day!

pretty cool place, good food trucks, newly renovated. fun to come by boat and hang out. luckily they have cleats on one side to tie up to but be careful as i stepped on a nail (barefoot, probably not my best idea) sticking out of the bulkhead and was getting a tetanus shot the next morning! live music and convenience store/bar is a huge bonus!

The idea and how they are getting the place together is awesome! Somewhere for us locals to hang out and get close to vacationing for a weekend.... it does seem like boat parking can be a little tight as weve gone by boat and vehicle.... hope they put a dock out there, make it really easy for docking and unlocking and some steps going into the sound for swimmers.

Stopped by Currituck Trading Post on my way to the Outer Banks and was not disappointed. Enjoyed a beer by the open garage doors, which overlooks the water. Great spot for the entire family and a unique stop for travelers. Convenience, clean restrooms, and a wonderful atmosphere. Will come again!
