What used to be the store that every lake goer stopped at to fill boat up with gas and get a few supplies, is also an excellent choice for hand dipped ice cream and a monster size club sandwich! These folks could teach other restaurants what a club sandwich is supposed to look like! It is at least 3 inches thick!!!

A timeless jewel in the middle of the countryside. In business since 1878. Stop by for the quaint country charm, and stay for their famous fried bologna sandwiches. What a joy it was to happen upon this little old country store, with people sitting on the porch chatting about the day's news. The staff was incredibly friendly, an expected part of Southern charm. Very close to Kerr Lake, this little country store has all the supplies you might need for your pantry, to get some fishing in by the lake, or to supply your RV. Outside in a bit of an open-air market fashion, is a fenced-in area complete with flowering plants to purchase, and all kinds of outdoor yard art you may or may not need. Outdoors you'll also find tables to sit and relax, during beautiful weather, while you enjoy the lunch from the deli inside. Not really on the way to anywhere in particular, but definitely a stop worth the detour from your traveled path.

Great little country store, grill, & gas station all in one, It's definitely a must, on the way to the lake. The place has been in business since the 1800's, still looks great. Plenty of amazing photo opportunities. Staff is amazing & nice. Food is just as great. Highly recommend a visit to the grill.

This is the cutest little country store! They had lots of different things from fishing gear to t-shirts! They have lots of different flavors of hand dipped ice cream, breakfast sandwiches and lunch items! There are lots of coolers for ice and even an area outside with plants and flowers! Definitely a place to stop and check out!

The ultimate country general store from another age and time. Ice cream cones, cold beer, bar chain oil, fishing tackle, non-ethanol for the boat, tee shirts, fresh laid eggs, batteries of many sizes, live bait, candy and soda. Close to many boat ramps and campgrounds. Super friendly staff. Owner helped us with our stubborn boat hitch. “If we ain’t got it you don’t need it”

The place is clean and food prices aren't that bad for a local country store. I was impressed by what they had to offer especially with how busy they were. The owners were friendly. The reason for two stars is simply the lack of safety. Not a single employee (owners) were wearing a mask and not a single person visiting insider were wearing masks and could have cared less if they were brushing shoulders with you. The owners didn't care to take social distance measures. If you feel okay exposing yourself and family members to COVID then this petri dish is the right stop for you. Otherwise if you prefer to err on the side of caution then you are better off checking out the dollar general down the road who (surprisingly) cares about the health of others

Cute little country store with surprising variety of merch. Service needs a bit of work. Young girl behind the register rang up my 94 yr old mother and then turned her back to her to talk to other employees without even telling her the total. Ignored her for quite a bit until she finally said "I'd like to pay please." She turned back around but said nothing as she took her money and gave her change.

Old country store, with modern amenities. Really pricey on everything. Close to the lake so that allows them to extort their location. I will not get caught low on gas, Gatorade again.

Buchanans has changed hands but the quality is still there. Great Hersey ice cream. Fried bologna sandwich like no other. Old school is always best!!

Friendly staff at Buchanan's always, and great ice cream too. My son and I enjoy sitting on the front porch with our ice cream cones talking about whatever strikes his fancy - dogs, people buying boxes, explaining how windchimes work, etc. They've got pretty much everything you might need out here.

They have seating now and have grown so much. I have always loved this store as a kid and only getting to visit on our yearly camping visits. But now you can get lake treats, visitors products, needs and necessities, a deli sandwich, bbq, hotdogs, and of course ice cream and milkshakes! I love the look of this place and the inside it just that much more eccentric and quaint.

A hole in the wall with a sign that says, "if we don't have it, you don't need it". This store is about the size of your living room and kitchen. It has such an eclectic stash of merchandise that I left bewildered. My purchases: old fashioned candy sticks, a wedge of "hoop" cheese, a child's sensory toy, and a freshly made fried bologna & cheese sandwich. I left behind: the 10" fishing lures, log chains, hand dipped ice cream, t-shirts, and a ton more oddities.

This store is a treasure, soaked with country charm. There was old fashioned hoop cheese and specially made cookies on the counter. They have hand-scooped Hershey's ice cream on one side of the store and fresh bait on the other. The staff are very friendly and polite. It's close to Kimball Point campsite. And as their custom made t-shirt says, "If they don't have it, you don't need it!"

My wife and I just had their 2 of their Breakfast Burritos, very good and would recommend to anyone. Super folks running the store. We have always tried to do business with these fine folks every time we camp in the area and we've never been disappointed with the service.

Love the old time country store from days gone by! Wish there were more places like this, I would rather pay more to patronize a local store owner like this than the big chain stores. Love the hoop cheese, bologna, and hand dipped ice cream! Great destination for an afternoon country ride, get a snack and ride home.
