We were in town, fresh out of the meadery around the corner, and saw this dry goods store on the map and decided to check it out, especially after we saw it was haunted! Prices were great, staff was friendly, we picked up some stuff, and checked out the museum upstairs. Overall pretty neat, glad we stopped by, pretty sure they've got something you need even if you don't know it yet.

This place was so much fun!! Old building with creaky old floors, lots of exciting stuff to look at and a wonderful little deli in the same building. Reasonable prices, great food, friendly staff (especially the young man at the register with the handle bar moustache !! And the deli ladies)

This place was very cool and the staff is wonderful. The store downstairs had plenty of things to look at and choose from, and the museum upstairs is very well kept with lots of things related to the history and time period. For those of you who are wondering, yes.. it is very much a spiritually active place. I'm a psychic medium that specializes in the paranormal and connected with some of the spirits, so keep that in mind when going. There is a lot of history in this building, and it shows. I will be going back soon in the future!

Really enjoyed the visit here. They support a lot of small local businesses and everything is reasonably priced! The environment is very relaxing, no rush or pressure to purchase anything, the owners are some of the sweetest most genuine people I’ve met at a store and very knowledgeable on the history of the store and town. The museum on the 2nd floor gave me chills and a heavy feeling came over me at the end of the hall but it didn’t feel evil or scare me at all. They have a few rooms blocked off (no entry) as well as the 3rd floor.Love the history behind this building and I’m forever grateful that someone is taking great care of it the way they have and I look forward to many many returns! Wish more people cared about history like these owners do ❤️

In my opinion, this is one of the best places to visit in Madison. It has been around for many years, and was always a favorite of mine, but under the new ownership it has taken on a new dimension. They have a lot of local, handmade items, including food, winter accessories, pottery, and kitchen items, as well as, clothing, including t-shirts, flannels, and jackets, to name a few. Upstairs there is a museum and other items for sale. There is a deli/bakery in operation now, with plans for expansion in 2024. The proprietor is a pleasant and friendly young man who has never seen a stranger and he makes the experience even better. I'm buying a lot of my Christmas presents there this year, because you just can't find this uniqueness anywhere else. Go visit! You'll be glad you did.

Great place really good coffee. Owners were very nice people. I love an hour away. Was well my drive. Alot of good things in the store for sale clothing wise. And in the kitchen part. And as I mentioned the coffee is good. I didn't see any ghosts unfortunately. But I still had a great time.was glad I went and spent some time there.

Very sneaky. They added $2 to the bill because I used a credit card. They should post it or tell you. Everyone uses cards or Apple Pay. Not coming back. The cashier completely ignored me. He was on the phone asking if his order was shipped. Made 3 phone calls while I was at the counter. I would have commented about the extra charge but the mustachio was just too busy on the phone. Not a happy shopper. Not coming back. NOT HONEST!

Madison Dry Goods is a hidden gem in the cutest little town, not far from the bigger cities. The jingle of the bell as you walk in immediately takes you back in time. This is a place where everyone can find something that they want or need, or if nothing else, a warm smile and gracious greeting from the store owner. If you haven’t been, take the drive to Madison and stop in soon!

Wow! My first trip to Madison, Madison Dry Goods and Turtle Creek Bakery! 5/5 it was great! Had the Farmer sandwich on sourdough added mayo. Yummy, the bread alone is worth the trip! If you have the pleasure of being there while they're baking fresh bread, you won't be able to resist a loaf! It smells amazing!!I also ate a cookie (or two) on the way home. You can't go wrong with the no bakes.Pasta salad was very good, loved the addition of crisp cucumbers and diced red peppers. The sandwich portions were very generous for the prices.Madison Dry Goods Store had a great selection of tshirts, hats and other collectible items. Don't miss their upstairs antiques! I can't wait to come back for a mystery dinner, myself!I loved the Lucky Brand T's, the Alpaca socks, various local items such as honey, sauces, mixes and candy! So come in and stay awhile. Plenty of seating. 5/5

Fun place and wonderful staff. There is something for everyone. Food, t-shirts, antiques, etc. We bought Amish popcorn and can't wait to pop it. They have unusual food items like old style sauces and pepper jellies, etc. Great place to visit in downtown Madison. Go! We loved it!

A friend & I went to try out their new sandwich shop. It was great. The area is full of preserves, jams, pickles, chips, soup mixes & the list goes on. The clothing section has a wonderful section of tee shirts, tops, dresses & in addition there is men's clothing. Madison Dry Goods is a great place to spend time & money!

Was high priced , but I like to look then come back in purchase definitely going back to get some of the apple butter, and different flavored popcorn. One thing that really caught my attention was the little silver carousel toy. The upstairs was nice definitely old fashioned fits perfectly with the history, the antiques were just amazing my friend felt a little something touch her back but I think she was tripping haha. Loved the store workers mustache it was unique and old timey caught my eye when I first walked through the door I will definitely be back.

Went here on a whim with my Mama simply because I'd seen them featured on Netflix; was not disappointed. Although didn't feel any haunted happenings while here, sure enjoyed seeing all of the antiques and dry goods displayed- even purchased a couple of items and decided we'd be back for more. Definitely worth visiting and learning a bit of local history.

We hosted our son's 9th birthday party in the Richard and Kathy Miller community room and it was perfect. Smitty was amazing and took our group on a tour of the general store and shared the history of the building. He was so engaging with my son and the entire group. I would highly recommend this place for any celebration. Not only was his party perfect but there was some really cool local stuff for sale. We are already planning a trip back upforsome shoes my husband and son were eyeballing

Great place, great owners! They have a nice selection of handmade foods such as jams, dry pasta, spices and seasonings, a very reasonably priced clothing selection. They also have a museum upstairs and the owners are super friendly, even offered us coffee while we walked around. Love this place, we will definitely be back. Support local business's!

Love this place located in historic downtown Madison, NC. They have men and women's clothing, specializing in outdoor and everyday wear. They have a variety of North Carolina snack foods and recently they started selling breads and hot cinnamon rolls. In June, they are adding a deli that will sell Boar's Head sandwiches! Yum!

Not the friendliest shopkeeper. Clothes are priced economically. Nice displays and a good variety of jams, jellies, soaps, lotions and more. There is a museum upstairs which is interesting; however, I'm not sure if they do not dust up there in keeping with the "haunting" claims or if they are just lazy. If you have asthma or any breathing problems wear a mask or skip the museum.

I absolutely loved this store! On one level you have plenty of great quality clothing and accessories. On the upper level they have food items such as canned vegetables, honey, pastas, grains, and candy! The owners are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable! We walked upstairs to the museum dedicated to the Lawson family murders! It was very interesting to see all the pictures and objects from time passed!

This place is worth a visit. Great selection of wares not found just anywhere. Owners are happy to see you and have a great knowledge of local history that they are happy to share. This is a stop you need to put on your list. You won't regret it. Shop here then stop in for lunch or dinner down the street. This town is a hidden gem.

We stopped by on a Saturday afternoon thinking we'd just breeze in and out. But no, the store was so interesting we spent quite a bit of time there. First of all, the decor is fabulous, plenty of genuine antiques to catch your eye. Then the clothing kept us. I loved the boho tops and plush socks. Next, the clerk told us the story of the Lawson tragedy, and I'll admit it was spellbindingly, utterly creepy. I found myself thinking about it when I was trying to go to sleep that night and thinking about keeping the lights on. After that tale, I wandered into the next room and was amazed at the variety of local and nearby foodstuffs and other goods for sale. The homemade cookies smelled divine. I'll take one of everything, please! If you are in the area, this shop is a must! It's worth making it your destination, too, if you are looking for something new and different.
