Full service lanes aren’t what it says. I put items on counter, clerk scans and puts on bags on counter. He stands there doing nothing while I put about 12 or more bags in my cart. They have no training how to treat customers. I worked for grocery chain, Food Lion also. We treated customers with respect.

Love this place as its right on the way to my place on lake Gaston.:-) easy to get in and out in pretty good time. The staff has always been very efficient and friendly and hospitable. I would definitely give it a five star and again it's a great location when you're heading out to the lake to get some things cheaper than you do a convenience stores.

A Food Lion is no Wegmans, but you can't beat the price and selection. Fairly recent addition of self-checkout is fantastic!

Love this store. Always clean, well stocked and plenty of open check out lines. This store is a well run machine. Kiesha in customer service was amazing in assisting me in obtaining a copy of a recent receipt that I had misplaced. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Very expensive, but to be expected in a resort area. Is smallish for a grocery store with a limited selection. Careful of the produce - I've bought strawberries and other fruit that was going bad and growing mold and I didn't see it until I got home. They have a decent chicken wing/appetizer bar, but it's left uncovered and everything dries out and gets rock-hard in no time. Most of the staff is friendly and helpful but some obviously would rather be anywhere else doing anything else. This store is fine for vacationers who need picnicing supplies or other essentials, but if you are stocking up, you may want to make the trip to a larger grocery store for better prices and selection.

A very nice selection with numerous sales, but the items not on sale are incredibly expensive. Best to stick to the savings flyers and shop particularly, instead of availing yourself of a full grocery run here.

We are always out of something at the FLion at Lake Gaston. I guess we are kinda second hand because it's a good drive to get to this rural lake area. Was not this bad until covid. It never changed back.

Only thing I don't like is they keep it so cold in the store I usually just grab what I need and out I go. They do keep shelves stocked and employees are nice and friendly

First time at this Food Lion I was looking for better produce.. right now produce here was so much better than in my local area Food Lion and Walmart. I was pleased with the variety of vegan items also. I am not vegan, I like to try new things. I discovered some items here I would like to try. I did buy vegan cream cheese to try.The store was clean and employees were nice. The lady who checked me out was awesome. We managed to get my full cart into my 4 reusable bags as I really didn't need more plastic bags. She sorted and packed them well! She rocks!

I love this Food Lion. I drive to this one instead of the one in South Hill, VA. It's a lot nicer, cleaner, and more organized. The employees are also great! They can get really busy on the weekends in the summer time due to lots of people visiting the lake.

We vacation at Lake Gaston every Memorial and Labor Day weekends, and this Food Lion is the place to go. They have a good supply of sun protection products, and we buy all our weekend groceries here. They do an awesome job of accommodating all the extra traffic both those weekends, and are quick to keep their isles fully stocked. The staff has been pleasant and helpful every time we stop by. And we like the addition of the hot bar!

Food Lion steps up no matter what! Especially during this covid period, they instituted the required protocols to assure all shoppers remain as safe as possible. I've been a customer for 5 years and had the honor of being an employee on 2 occasions part time. So I can speak from both sides. When I moved to the area, it was having my favorite store so handy and the entire staff that made me decide the Lake Gaston area was "home". This store lives up to it's excellent reputation on a daily basis.

Just this weekend my wife was commenting on how every member of the staff at this store greeted her, in a non-obtrusive but sincere way, from the checkout clerk to the stock-keepers. We also discussed how we are pleasantly surprised by the variety of products stocked by this store. We are very fortunate and pleased to have this store so close to us.

Needed a quick snack late at night after being on the boat all day. Avoid the sushi in the deli case it is awful. So dry and dense that we had to peel the rice off just to eat the inside. I was not expecting 5 star quality sushi from a deli case but something edible would have been nice. The store was clean and the staff was friendly but kind of ruined it for me.

I honestly don’t know how these guys stay in business. Their prices are incredibly low for the location all year long. There never seems to be a line at check out and the staff is super helpful. Also, it has one of the best beer selections I’ve seen period.
