Small mom and pop motel with the nicest people in the world that's happy to serve you. Been going there 40 years and it never disappoints. Simple and very clean.Nearby activities: Grandfather mountain, Linville falls and caverns. Blue ridge parkway, antiques, fruits, trout streams. Etc..

Love the place , been coming for years, rooms are clean ,the place is clean it’s family run so you May see the boss behind the check in counter or servicing the available rooms. Friendly staff, well price, nice jumping of spot to Grandfathers mont or Chimney Rock town and Park plus other places in the area, note limited rooms so make your reservation early. I never had any problems with safety, I felt at ease and relax while seating out side the room.

It a nice enough Mom and Pop's kind of place but we were there in the summer and were forced to listen to LOUD music on the lawn. NOT WHAT WE COME TO THE MOUNTAINS FOR! Ssshhhhhh!

Love this place! Clean room, hot shower with great water pressure, the nicest people running the show! We planned on one night but decided to stay two & do a little exploring. We walked to the Old Hampton Store for some excellent barbecue & outdoor music. The rooms are a little dated but so comfortable & clean. They have everything you need to be comfortable. We will be back.

The Pixie Inn is WONDERFUL! A real treasure. It feels like you're staying at your grandparents' house. Very clean, quiet, and quaintly decorated. The people who run the Pixie are so kind and make you feel welcome. It's twice as pleasant as a chain motel, for literally half the price. I hope it never changes. One thing to know, there are not coffee makers in the room, so plan for that. There is a convenience store right across the street that opens early and has a decent cup of coffee, so it's not a big issue.

Great little locally owned motel. Staff was so accommodating and friendly from the beginning to end of our stay. Prices are very reasonable and they are pet friendly. If you are looking for a chain hotel with all the upscale accommodations this is not your place, but if you are looking for a place that makes you feel like family from the moment you arrive this is your motel. Within 20 minutes you can get to all area attractions. Great motel and we will stay again in the future.

This weekend was our third visit to The Pixie Inn and will most certainly not be our last. My family and I love this charming little inn. Great location, about a mile from the entrance to Grandfather Mountain. Near the Blue Ridge Parkway and several cute little antique shops. Yes, it is an older place, which we see as a plus. The walls are actual walls and not cardboard covered with paint. It is quiet, peaceful and cozy. The rooms are clean and always smell fresh. The prices are very affordable. The staff are very friendly and treat you like family. They know how to make guests feel welcome and appreciated. Not like the big chains that seem impersonal. We cannot say enough good things about the Pixie! Highly recommended!!! The only negative is that they are only open from April through October.

If you are just looking for a great safe clean place to sleep while you explore the mountains, look no further. This is a great yesteryear motel.Super rooms, and at a superb price. $55 a night. Could easily be $80-90 a night and still be a good deal. Only detractor was the weak shower.

Pixie Inn is a great place to retire in after a long day of exploring all the beautiful sights that surround it. The price is great for a night. Especially for where it is located. Be prepared to pay for the room in cash as no plastic is accepted. The room is nice. It is simple. It gives a feeling of home with how it is decorated and the furniture. IE: Some rooms have a twin bed and double bed. The bathroom doesn't have that commercial feel. It would be like you sleeping over at somebody's home. The shower needed to be cleaned better a little better but it definitely was not disgusting that I wouldn't recommend staying here because of it. Staff is very friendly. Willing to help when an issue may arise. If I come back through here, I would definitely stay here.

Love this motel and the people who run it! It's clean, but basic so bring your own shampoo and coffee pot but the rates are very reasonable.The staff really makes this place. It's Family Owned and personal. You get a good feel of the mountain kindness. Because of COVID-19 they cannot serve ice but there is a gas station across the street to buy some. Also bring some change because of the change shortage if you want a newspaper . I will deffinatly stay here again. I recommend it!

A bit dated with 60s wood paneling (my son got a kick out of the TV) but comfortable and the shower was updated and felt great.Older reviews said cash only, but they do take cards now.

We loved this place. This was mine and my husbands first time staying here, we stayed for a 3 day weekend for our anniversary. We absolutely loved it. The owners were so adorably sweet. They were so welcoming. We will most definitely be going there again!! And the price can't be beat!!

We stayed here because of the good reviews although I knew I was still taking a chance on an older motel. We had a group of three rooms, so it's not like I'm leaving a review for one bad room--they were all unpleasant.If you just want to save money and don't care how bad the room is, then you'll be fine at the Pixie Inn.

This was one of the best motels we have been to! After traveling from Florida and having some bad motels on the way up, we were so pleased with this place that we made sure we stayed a 2nd night! They welcome you and are very pleasant people! The rooms are very clean and well maintained. They will be seeing us again for sure! Thank you Pixie Inn!

Love this little motel. Its clean, unassuming, bring your own coffee pot...and if you're a smoker stay here!!! The rooms remind me of motels in the 1960s. I dont travel to sit in the hotel room so this is fine for sleep. The Tartan Restaurant is right beside it with breakfast or lunch until 2pm.

Friendly and clean. Wi-fi is a bit out of date but if you have cell service that's ok too. The rooms/ televisions need to be updated as well. Can't replace cleanliness and good service. I would give 5 stars for that alone.

Nice place,not the Ritz but for $50 A night. I got a double bed room. I feel safe. I'm sitting outside enjoying the night air. Owned by the same family since the late 50s. It's clean. I'm off the road on a cold rainy night.

Nice place to stay for a good price. Clean room and clean bathroom. Friendly patrons to talk to. The ONLY reason for a 4 star, no coffee maker in the room. Not a deal breaker. Will stay again when in the area.

Me and my husband were being dumb tourists. We were on the Blue Ridge Parkway following GPS. We lost GPS in the mountains and we're basically lost...and out of gas. We were scared. I thought we were gonna be on the Parkway overnight! This Shell station showed up like a beam from heaven..and across the street..The Pixie! This place is old..from the 60s. But..it's clean..and nice. It saved us! It's cheap and clean! Perfect launch point for lots of places to visit! A/c didn't work..but we didn't need it in late September. Hot water also not an A..but it was something that didn't break the deal on its rating!

My room had been recently remodeled, for the $ that ur service is provided at a great location u get ur dollars worth for sureRooms: Not sure how many but there are recently remodeled rooms new HVAC units in every room, a new roof, and new seamless gutters.Nearby activities: Grandfather Mtn, Linville Falls, Linville Gorge, Harper's Creek, Roseboro,, The Globe, Yancey Ridge, Hwy.221 and The Parkway are just a few of the great hiking, climbing, camping, cycling, fishing, & etc. areas in the areaSafety: ALL ROOMS ARE GROUND LEVELWalkability: Very easy walking with stores and good restaurants like The Tartan, and Hampton Grist Mill a stones throw awayNoteworthy details: Clean and kind service

This place is phenomenal! Now don't go expecting the Hampton inn !!!! This cute little old school motel has clean rooms in a 1970 decor, it's a cheap place to stay close to grandfather mtn and brown Mountain lights - they are cash only so be prepared for that but the staff is super friendly and I can positively assure you all I will always come back to this little gem !!!

This place is great. A hidden gem . Very seventies ,kitschy low cost place. Adirondack chairs on the lawn . Restaurant next door . Has station across the street . Very much a community staple with hardware store beauty shop sandwiches you name it you can walk from there . Don't miss this one . Kay and the ladies are the best .
