I've been passing this place for years. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to stop for breakfast this time! It was surprisingly very good. They even have avocado toast!I ended up doing the regular breakfast with two eggs, bacon, toast, and hash brown casserole. The eggs were quite tasty with a generous amount of pepper. I really liked the bacon, it had a good smokey flavor. The hashbrown casserole was delicious, hot and cheesy.We shared a fruit bowl that was quite large and super fresh tasting.Service was great. Everyone was very friendly. And the coffee was spot on!I will definitely be back!

We stopped into the Panther Cafe for a late lunch today. It was absolutely delicious. I chose the BLT with fries. It was the perfect southern bacon, lettuce, and tomato sandwich. The bread was toasted to perfection, the bacon was crispy, the veggies were fresh, and it was topped off with just the right amount of Duke's mayonnaise! My fries were hot and crispy. The little restaurant is quaint - made of large logs, with a vaulted ceiling, and gorgeous hardwood floors. The seating area is an eclectic blend of mismatched farmhouse tables. Our waitress was extremely pleasant and efficient. If you're looking for casual food done well, this is the perfect little restaurant.

Great service and the food was out super fast! The orange juice was freshly squeezed, at least it tasted like it. We got the eggs Benedict and the biscuits and gravy. The eggs benny was pretty good, except the egg white was mostly clear on the inside. The biscuits and gravy was not good. The gravy didn’t taste good, the biscuits weren’t golden, they weren’t brown, they were black and hard to cut through. How do you serve black charred biscuits at a restaurant??

Not much food for the price. Ordered dark fried chicken with 2 sides. Leg and thigh were the smallest I’ve ever seen and they were burned. Mashed potatoes/gravy and fried okra were good. Service was very good.Reply to owner: Your kitchen and wait staff can see the food that was prepared and brought out so I assumed that was normal.

Perfect little place to hole up out of the rain and cold with excellent comfort food (and some wraps for those healthy folks). Plenty of delicious homemade soup, sandwiches and homestyle fried chicken. You know it’s good when you see the locals roll in around noon. Warm, small cabin atmosphere with excellent service. Very close to the entrance to Gorges State Park on 64. Exactly what I was looking for.Parking: Plenty of free space.

I finally made it lol…This cute little restaurant is in the Toxaway area off of Rosman Highway (64).I had called ahead as we were going to be a large party. They don’t do reservations, but they still made sure we had a table. The young lady that I spoke to on the phone prior to our visit and the same lady who sat us was so polite and easy to talk to.They quickly asked for our beverages and not too long after we ordered.The breakfast was so good. It came out warm and quickly after we ordered.When we first arrived it wasn’t too busy, but when we left it sure had picked up.They have outdoor seating(too cold today) and ample parking.The restaurant and the bathrooms were also very clean.We came down from Cashiers (+/- 20 min) drive. Well worth it for this tasty breakfast.

Waitress brought our check before our food was served. Eggs were overcook based on order. Coffee refills were slow. When it came time to get the check after the meal it was slow to arrive, the staff said there was and adjustment for their errors. There was no adjustment made. Overall find the local McDonald's, you'll get better food and service, and I don't like mcdonald's.Response to your reply.We were not rude to her. Simply stated that the restroom was out of paper. Hoping the next customer would have been able to dry their hands and have necessary TP as needed.We did at the same time ask for coffee.Restaurant was not that busy when we were there.I also note you were not able to say we were being bullies for you serving lousy food.PS if we were bullies why did we tip 25%?

We were visiting from Raleigh and wanted to try local restaurants and we were very unsatisfied by our visit here. We were given short responses to our questions and side eyes from everyone. Not sure if it was because we are a mixed (black and white) family or if they were having a bad day. Others sitting next to us had the same waitress but she was completely different towards them. We will not be going back and my family who works in Toxaway will no longer be recommending this restaurant to their local customers. Absolutely a shame. Do better and learn to treat others who are different than you with kindness.

Disappointing experience.We came after long morning hike to refuel with a hardy lunch. We looked at the menu and were expecting a cheap and cheerful experience. We got a fried chicken plate with macaroni and cheese and okra, and as I bit into my chicken leg the first flavor I’m hit with is FISH. I thought maybe my taste buds were tired after a hike, so I had some tea, some okra, both just fine, then another bite of chicken, and FISH. I go to have some macaroni, served in 4 oz portion cup, to find it SOUPY, like someone added water to Kraft mac and cheese. I took one bite and not another. We also ordered a chicken sandwich and the chicken was HALF the size of the bread, and very tough. No refills on drinks, not even asked, or plus a server that just seemed to be on auto pilot just made for an overall disappointing experience.EVERY patron we saw leaving the restaurant this day was 65+ so I was left with the impression that this cafe is catering to a crowd that’s more concerned with cost, rather than a quality, but I think with a few tweaks it could have been much better.

Have driven by this fine little restaurant for several years without ever going in until yesterday for breakfast...was pleasantly surprised by the quality and selection of food choices... the service was spectacular and friendly...the prices are more than fair and this will now become one of my most favorite locations to go to for breakfast... I strongly suggest you consider trying the egg... sausage and cheese biscuit... a real taste treat!

Went here on a Saturday morning, waited nearly half an hour for the food! Definitely the slowest breakfast place I've been to. The price is very high for what it is, and not to mention the menu is kinda deceiving. The first item is the toast with some sides (you can find the pic) and the price is right under it. I would have assumed that the price is for the whole plate, turns out the sides are extra cost. Spending 20$ on a breakfast of this quantity and quality is crazy. Ruined my morning before a 10+ hour drive!Parking: Very few spots

Great spot for a late breakfast on our way home from a vacation in Cashiers. Kids loved the French toast and I really enjoyed the trailblazer.Love the atmosphere and the staff were great! Will be back next time we are in the area.

A great cozy Cafe! The staff was lovely extremely friendly, and the service was great. Even the other guests were friendly and we had a nice conversation with them, and were even able to meet the owner! We were so grateful, this was the first time in forever that all the kids were behaved and eating their food, not running around! It was almost magical.The food was delicious, and the views from the windows give you a full cabin in the woods feeling.Try the wings! They are cooked to perfection and full of flavor. The fried okra was also great!

The food was good. We were tad bit disappointed that there were no pancakes on the menu for the children. The other issue I had was that they did not have regular hash browns. Here in the South you need to have regular hash browns on that menu... not that cheesy stuff! Otherwise everybody was super nice and I had no complaints about the quality of the food. Money well spent!

Excellent food and wonderful service. Loved the French Toast and Cheesy Potato Casserole. Nyla was an amazing server! Can’t wait to visit again.
