Our party of five went to Easter Brunch today with high hopes of a wonderful experience. We have never been, and thought it would be great to try given the menu we had seen and favorable reviews we had heard. We drove an hour each way, and it was far from worth the time. The servers were very inattentive. Drinks were rarely refilled unless we asked. Sadly, the food left a lot to be desired. Everything was overcooked and lacked flavor. The sausage links were difficult to cut into, sides like the mac and cheese and stuffing were extremely dry, and the beef and other proteins were overcooked as well. I was offered “rare” roast beef which was dry and cooked beyond well done. I honestly barely ate because it was just that bad. I never even had dessert because by then I was just frustrated, and no one in my party seemed to enjoy anything they tried anyways. Our server not once asked how anything was, and just brought the bill. I asked to speak to a manager. The manager finally came and I was greeted literally with the words, “manager.” Not..’Hi, I’m so and so, I understand you asked for a manager…what can I help you with…’. I explained how disappointed we all were, and that other than the cocktails, everything was very disappointing. She said she would see what she could do. Never apologized or anything. The server returned with a new bill where she had taken 25% off of my $50 charge, but nothing done for anyone else. The manager never returned. So…$200 for the three of us for an awful experience, and it looks like I’ll be making another meal at some point in the distant future because we all walked away hungry. The icing on the cake was when we were leaving we were walking down a straight path through the restaurant and a server started to walk through us to cross and then very loudly exclaimed, “Well okay then!” as if we had somehow cut her off when she was literally trying to walk through us. Extremely rude behavior. We will never go back.

One thing is being an antique/ history place..but another one is being a dirty/filthy place. I have stayed here 3 times and I dread going..only have done it because we like Lake Lure and we don’t seem to find another place to stay..however, last time was so bad that I told my husband I refuse to go back..curtains with mold..rugs super dirty..all I wanted is to be out of that place from the moment I stepped in. A long time ago I also ate at their restaurant, and the food was awful..that’s all I remember. It was duck with some time of cranberries .

I'm a bride who just had my wedding there in the Garden. All I can say is the ppl who work the desk, and food serving Rock. Wedding was planned a year ago and there were some hiccups that should have never happened. But, I wanted to enjoy the moment and enjoy the families that flew in to share with us the special day. Just make sure who ever your wedding coordinator is takes notes and that you stay on top of them..... Other than some issues everything else was perfect. Tami who works front desk is AMAZING and will do whatever she can to make sure stay is good.....

We just had the most wonderful experience at this old, but elegant and beautifully decorated for the Holidays, hotel! We were guests for the weekend and hosted many family members and friends to witness the marriage of our son and daughter-in-law. The staff bent over backwards to accommodate and by the time we left, they felt like family too! We highly recommend this experience!Rooms: The hotel is almost 100 years old. Please don't expect everything to be perfect.

We have a wedding in April 2024 and have worked w Kathy during the entire process. Not only for the wedding, but the rehearsal dinner as well. She has gone over and beyond what anyone would expect. She takes the stress off, and handles it all in a professional manner. We feel so blessed to have picked Lake Lure Inn for our wedding. See you next month !!

Do not stay here!!! Downstairs was furnished with “turn of the century” mahogany furnishings… old carpet that was dirty… pool was closed for wedding and not disclosed to us before hand…given choice of two rooms (both were so sad)Old and tattered furnishings….. carpets were filthy,.,,.sparse toiletries in bathroom… paper thin towels..,, should have kept driving on 74.

It was very nice staying they're very authentic makes you feel like you're back 100 years ago.A couple service issues the bartender was very rude. He actually told us he's too busy to take food orders and there was only a handful of people that needed serving. The rooms are very small but that's okay it had such a beautiful atmosphere

We enjoyed the Sunday brunch buffet here. Amazing. So good. The variety and quality of the food was absolutely wonderful. The staff were very kind and helpful. Everyone went out of their way to make sure we were happy. The best of the bunch was the hostess who sat us. She checked up on us throughout our meal and was the icing on the fantastic cake of our experience this past Sunday. We will be back!

Oh my, where to begin. We went to Friday night dinner with friends of ours who were celebrating their wedding anniversary. We ordered an Oregon Pinot Noir. Our waitress had to idea how to pour wines so we explained to her that you don't fill up the whole wine glass. Felt sorry for her as the restaurant had obviously not trained her. Started drinking it only to realize a Dark Horse Pinot Noir had been substituted without telling us. Veranda had no updated wine list so my husband had to go to the bar to see what bottles they had and to order a different wine. My husband ordered a Wicked Weed beer but was served something different. At this point, our food had arrived and my husband decided that based on his prior experience at the bar, he would just accept this substitution. One meal was good was served lukewarm. Seriously, how hard is it to keep a baked potato hot? The clam chowder was very good. The other 3 meals were fine. The only plus was that our waitress was very attentive and nice! Maybe this was just a bad night or near the end of the season but even so, we won't be back.

The Inn has become a yearly getaway for us. The quaintness and history of the inn can’t be beat. Surrounded by mountains and overlooking beautiful Lake Lure, the natural beauty of the area is always amazing. I always highly recommend the 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa to anyone looking for a nice, relaxing getaway.Food & drinks: The moose and goose bar at the hotel is nice and convenient for drinks, appetizers, dinner, whatever you’re needing.

I loved this hotel. The staff was super friendly and had answers to all of our questions. The room (Swayze Suite) had everything we needed, a kitchenette, living room, bedroom, full bathroom, and even a tub room. I did not have time to try it, but it looked amazing. Big enough to swim in almost. They had breakfast every morning, it was pretty standard continental breakfast choices. The hotel is decorated everywhere with antiques and oil paintings. I could have spent another day just exploring more of the hotel. The area is beautiful, even though the lake was undergoing "maintenance".

I had dinner here at the bar and it was amazing! Even though there was a wedding that evening, the staff was gracious and attentive, and the food was delicious and fresh. We really enjoyed our time here and can't wait to come back next time we are in town!

This place was quite nice. It's age shows in places but the feeling you get being here, like stepping back in time some. The rooms are small but cozy. The breakfast needs work. I felt that for this location that food should be fresh, not cereal and muffins, but fresh cooked sausage eggs and bacon.

This is our second time here and won’t be our last for sure. Everyone is so nice here and it’s so clean. We had a very relaxing stay, even though I constantly wake up before the sun rises. I came downstairs both mornings at 5 am to study and was greeted immediately with a good morning and promise for coffee which was never expected but completely welcomed. Dinner was great, the brunch is always a delicious anticipation, room was warm and bed was super cozy. Thank you for a relaxing and peaceful weekend even though I’m a way way early bird.

I’d start by noting the place is nearly 100 years old -don’t expect the Ritz. Window ac and it runs 24 hours in the summer. The double queen room had no place to sit. The continental breakfast ran out of coffee, oj and eggs. However, it’s historic and has a neat restaurant. Didn’t eat there but it’s nice. It’s a couples getaway if you have something to do in LL. Prepare for a lot of traffic.

The Inn is pretty and the location is amazing. The rooms are tiny but the location and price and historic aspect make up for it. The bar was convenient but severely understaffed (one bartender licensed in the entire building, meaning she had to run between the lounge and restaurant all night every night). The “included” continental breakfast was extremely disappointing unless you like plain bagels, sliced white bread, or hard boiled eggs. While the Sunday brunch is highly advertised throughout the lobby and on the website, it is never mentioned that reservations are necessary or even available, so we found ourselves driving 20 minutes to breakfast when we were informed at 10am (when brunch opens) that every table was booked for the day.We had booked massages at the attached Spa, but they were cancelled a week before our stay because the masseuse apparently quit without notice.Basically, the Inn is a nice place to sleep and keep your things as you explore all of the fantastic things to do in the area.

Location is beautiful. Hotel is straight up lying to you. The rooms are false advertising at its finest. I'd use stronger language if I could. I will continue to post this review if the proprietor tries to dispute it in an attempt to alert people to the deplorable rooms they put you in. Negative stars for the rooms. They should be ashamed of themselves. The issue here is their honesty. Put the actual photos of your rooms up, or make them look even remotely like the flase picture that you say people will get. Lies.

We recently stayed at the 1927 Lake Lure Inn and Spa. First, the location is beautiful As we drove up to the inn, I took note that the Inn is in need of exterior paint and a general cleaning As we entered the inn, I was impressed with the period decor. Our room and bathroom were tiny (but I was expecting this - after all it was built in 1927) and was reasonably clean however the bed linens were not high quality and the pillows were flat. Our room did not even have a closet, however there was a period piece of furniture where we could hang our clothes out in the open. The pool area was beautiful and a very relaxing spot to enjoy the afternoon.Moose and Goose Lounge - Leah is absolutely awesome! She is a welcoming, friendly person and made our stay at the inn pleasant and pleasurable. She was very attentive to all of the patrons at the lounge and despite being super busy (only bartender, server, etc) kept her pleasant, professional demeanor. She also would be a great concierge. After conversing, we learned she had grown up in the area so I asked for suggestions on where we should visit. Instead of just offering up the tourist spots, she inquired as to what our interests were and then offered suggestions on nearby shops and restaurants to visit during our stay. We took her up on her suggestions and she was spot on! I thoroughly enjoyed conversing with her and will be back to visit Leah at the Moose and Goose lounge!Sunday Brunch - I must say the brunch was delicious! There were multiple salads (garden, caesar, antipasta, artichoke, etc) and a big crock pot of soup! A make to order omelette station with numerous fillings to choose from, prime rib and pork loin carving station, grits, bacon, sausage, garlic mashed potatoes, home fries, green beans and other assorted vegetables and a large table full of desserts. Everything I tasted was wonderful. I also had a bloody mary and the mix was obviously home made and delicious! Another bonus, we got to see Leah as she was working. Again, she spoke to us by name and went out of her way to inquire about our previous sightseeing/shopping day and just to say hello and if she could be of further help.Front porch - wonderful place to sit in the rocking chairs and take in the beautiful view and enjoy a cold beverage.Reservation services via the website and telephone - needs desperate help!! We thought we were booking The Patrick Swayze suite - this is the room we clicked to book and then received confirmation for a standard room with 2 queen beds. Not happy! I then contacted the hotel directly and was told the suites were all booked. After numerous phone calls, I was able to switch to a standard king room. I also asked for a refrigerator 2 separate times and never received one - they are offered if available for a fee of ten dollars. A minor improvement would be to provide small refrigerators in all rooms - nice addition for a low cost.General impression of staff - Everyone was friendly however they definitely lacked proper training and there was definitely an absence of leadership in management. They were doing the best they could however there is lots of room for improvement and I blame this on the lack of a clear leader in management. I was told the manager had recently decided to pursue other opportunities! If he or she is still in the area, you desperately need them back!!Noteworthy staff which I had the pleasure of meeting -Leah - I give her 5 stars plus! I cannot say enough good things about her!Eric - warm, welcoming and seemed to be able to multi task - he was the maintenance person and also helped in the restaurant and lounge. Very friendly with a nice smile. He also was able to resolve my issues with my reservation (3 attempts with other employees) when switching rooms and gave me a call back to let me know it was complete and he was able to find a room with a viewMargaret - new employee - very friendly and helpfulSafety: No uber or lyft rides available or taxiFood & drinks: 3 restaurants within walking distanceNoteworthy details: Leah was awesome. Eric and Margaret were very friendly and helpful

The rooms are extremely overpriced. The false advertisement is amazing... the rooms smell like a old storage ben.. musty and mildew is all I smelled. Checked in stayed for 2hrs and checked out. No compensation for the false advertisement. Charged the card and moved on. Should be ashamed!! Should give refund not worth almost 300 to stay In a Fitzgerald sweet that you can't have 2 people In the bathroom at 1 time.. supper small horrible smell and extremely overpriced!! Never return.

We stayed in one of the rooms outside. Very convenient place to stay. Pool was nice & across the street from Lake Lure! Restaurant inside the hotel is a little expensive but well worth it! Minutes away from Chimney Rock! Loved the Dirty Dancing pics on the walls! Just a awesome experience! Our vacation to go spot is Chimney Rock & Lake Lure!

Got a weekend stay here for Christmas. Absolutely loved it. We stayed in the Patrick Swayze suite, room 215. It all started with Willaim the front desk clerk. He was very nice and very accommodating. We had made dinner reservations for the on site restaurant. My wife was cold, so William seated us near the fireplace, which he then turned on. Our waitress Tiffany was great. We ordered drinks and appetizers. Tiffany almost dropped my shrimp cocktail but she saved it. She then brought me another shrimp cocktail, she did not charge us. The food was very good and reasonable priced. Back to William, he was able to answer any questions we had. He was even able to give us some history on the hotel. The suite was very nice. It has a jacuzzi in it. The bed in the room was very comfortable. We made reservations for the brunch on Sunday. The amount of options that were available was incredible. I would strongly recommend staying here. We will definitely be coming back.

The hotel was ... just ok. It was certainly livable, and clean for the most part, but a lot of just minor inconveniences that were off-putting. I'll list the good and the bad below. Overall: We loved the Lake Lure and Chimney Rock area, and would consider staying at this hotel again, but we will definitely research other options first. The Good:- Location. The hotel is right on the lake, and walking distance to the beach, marina, and restaurants. This is the main selling point of the property.- The pool was very nice, although slightly difficult to access.- A few updates here and there, like modern shower heads and bedding.- The price of the stay was reasonable.- Pet Friendly, so your four-legged friends are welcome. The Bad:- The hotel was shaped like an L, with the corner pointing directly at the lake, which meant that every room only had a partial lake view.- The beds and pillows were cheap, so we slept ok with some tossing and turning.- The windows could be opened to let the lake breeze in, but the exterior was covered in spider webs so we just kept them shut the whole time.- The bathrooms were easily the worst part of the stay - there was no ventilation, so it made the room perpetually damp, and the shower was a total of about 6 square feet so there was just enough room to turn in a circle if your elbows were tucked in.- The continental breakfast was basically just cereal and stale breads. They had yogurt on the first day and ran out on day 2 of our stay.- Pet Friendly, so you could usually hear a dog barking at most times of the day. The carpets in the hotel also had many spots that looked bleached from pet accidents.

My body was full of bug bites after a night at this hotel, I went to the front desk to tell them there's a possibility of bed bugs and they inspected each bed and said there weren't any and said she would bring her manager, 15 minutes go by no manager is here so I decide to to to the front desk and they call me a liar and say the won't offer a free night or refund. Absolutely the worst hotel stay ever. The doors don't even lock anyone can walk in.
