I was showing property in the area and stumbled on this gem. I imagine it is packed during the summer and golf season, but great views and incredible food! I had the Flank Steak with Frites and it was spectacular! Dining room is spacious, there are several dining rooms, a bar and an area I did not have a chance to enter and see (private dining rooms?). Beautiful outdoor patio, I saw the biggest Stromboli I have ever seen being served here. I will go back for more photos and more in depth review, but what a great find!Parking: Areas of the parking lot were under construction but easy to get around. You have to get a pass at the gate to park and dine here, but so worth it! No charge for the pass

I am going to tell you the best secret in Lake Lure. The weather was perfect for this little trip. This is Lake Lure, where they filmed Dirty Dancing. A beautiful lake life snapshot. Have lunch here on the lake, with the best view you could ever ask for. How? Without reservations? Yes. Drive up to Rumbling Bald on Lake Lure… go up to the gate, ask security to let you in to eat at Legends. They will give you a parking pass and you get the best view in town. The food isn’t bad either! I had pizza. Crust 10/10! A touch of cornmeal for crispy yummy crust. Wow. Of course I ordered the veggie. I added a side of hot honey, cuz I’m extra, of course, and I must have my sauces for dipping. I also tried the pumpkin risotto. I make risotto a lot at home so I was critical, as it wasn’t hot. Barely warm. So pumpkin risotto with pepitas, beets and currants. Not bad, but I would prefer mine made at home. Seemed to lack cream and cheese also. Maybe it was intended to be non dairy? I also had the homemade blue cheese chips. Very good. Never enough blue cheese, never enough balsamic, but delicious. Finished my day with the lemon mascarpone cake, which was moist and decadent. Being extra I tried the baklava too and it was just odd. Was it supposed to be vegan? I don’t know. Lacked honey. The Phillip dough was chewy? I just didn’t love it. Everything else, so good. I will be back, “because I’ve had the time of my life and I’ve never felt this way before and I owe it all to you.”Atmosphere would have hit 5 stars but I am sorry, no music? Found this place but a Google search and made the trip from our Airbnb. Such a beautiful area. We were seated without a wait and opted for the patio. We got to watch a wedding below even! Out drinks were great. I had the Bahama mama. It was definitely pretty. Our food was all hot and fresh. We ordered pizzas to go also to take back with us and they were amazing! It was on the pricy side but that's to be expected for the area. The only thing we still ate but wasn't our favorite was the cheese for the pretzel bites. It wasn't horrible but it was grainy not very creamy. Overall it was definitely good and would come back if we were in the area again.

Just because you have a good view does not mean you can expect an incredible meal, but let me tell you, Legends on the Lake, does NOT disappoint! The food here is phenomenal, the hot wings are incredible and cooked to perfection. The pretzels were delicious and soft, the chili was a sweet chili and absolutely delightful. I had the Caesar salad with yummy salmon and the dressings are all made in house. To top it all off, Kathy our servers was absolutely FANTASTIC. I am writing this review as I sit here anticipating my dessert, I ordered the upside down pineapple 🍍 cake! I'm sure it's going to be scrumptious.

We had a large party and Lukas and Felipe were attentive and took good care of us. I had the Bucatini Carbonara and added shrimp to it. The carbonara sauce was great, but the bucatini was too large and difficult to eat. I'd say that just about any other flat pasta (fettuccine, linguini, tagliatelle, etc.), or penne would have been more well-suited for the sauce.The "Strawberry Tiramisu" was more of a different take on shortcake, but very good.The view is spectacular if you can get a seat outside on the patio.

Beautiful dining room large pitcher windows to look over the lake and beach I thought the lunch menu was quite small but there's something for everyone I ordered the pizza I did not particularly enjoy it. The coloring of the pizza was odd to me it was more of a Orange color and it just wasn't my favorite. My dining companion had the nachos and I've never seen nachos with corn. I guess it was like roasted corn she thought they were good and that's all that matters. I would not go back based on the dish I had.

I had a really nice experience here with my wife and friends. We were able to access Legends on the Lake via staying at a local Airbnb rental. The service was good overall, and we were able to sit near the bar and windows with the view. The drinks were good, and the food options were plentiful. I will say that the prices are high for what you get, but overall the food, atmosphere, and service were all good. If you get the chance to stop by, it's worth your time in comparison to the drive to other restaurants nearby.

Had not been to Legends since 2017 during our last vacation to Lake Lure. We returned this year (2022) and decided to go again. We ended up eating there 4 times the week we were there. The food is outstanding, the staff is wonderful, and the drink menu is great. Eating outside was a joy, and the view was spectacular. Will go there again on our next trip to the mountains.

I had their "smash burger". The reason for the 3 star? They let me get fresh fruit in place of fries or chips. However, I asked our waitress if I could get my burger wrapped in lettuce instead of a bun. She said she would ask the cook. No problem. My meal came with a bun not the lettuce wrap. No problem. I removed the bun and ate the burger. It wasn't bad. Later the waitress came back and said the next time to ask for a lettuce wrap and I could get it. She repeated this like 3 times and that the chef she asked was new. Another chef said it could be done. My Mama taught me there's no point in arguing when you know nothing will change. I kept my mouth shut as I already finished my meal. I know what I asked her and I really didn't appreciate her making me feel stupid for changing a couple of words. For this reason, I will not return. Plus my grandson had their chips. The chips didn't taste half bad when you ate them. But I got an unpleasant aftertaste. Almost like old oil or overcooked.

We were there to celebrate an occasion. The waiter was extremely rude and brought our food in a split times. We were not able to start the food at the same time. When we complained he gave us a absord excuse. We then requested to speak with the manager who was special lady and polite, she apologized and offered us discount and free dessert. If it wasn’t for this manager our night and celebration would be completely ruined. This restaurant is lucky to have a manger like her but need to do major professional training for their waiters.

Awful food, awful service, and manager kelley that does not seem to care. If you are visiting the resort, drive to down town and have a better meal at lastrada or even some of the smaller restaurants in chimney rock, you will save money and get a better meal. Our $13 wings (for 6) came out Luke warm, and without any appetizer plates. After waiting several minutes trying to get someone’s attention, I had to walk over to the managers station, and ask for plates. The manager Kelley did not look up or acknowledge me. A waitress standing by did and said she would bring over plates. Well, we take our first bite into the wings, And they were not cooked- these were pink and red meat around the bone. I asked for manager, she came, looked at the wings, asked if she could take them back to kitchen and show and tell the cook. She said she would comp deserts, annd and asked if we want another better cooked app . No thanks!Next our main meal - my $17 cheeseburger came without cheese, and one of our party of four’s meal (my daughter’s) did not come out with the others. She had to wait 10 minutes before they brought it out. I told the waiter I am missing the cheese. He said he would tell the cook. 10 minutes later he returns with the missing dinner for my daughter and asks me if I want him to take my now cold burger back and have them add the cheese. No! Two of our party had already eaten a good portion of their dinner, the other just got her meal, and I had just eaten 1/2 of an undercooked chicken wing. Take the burger back ! While finishing up dinners, the Waiter had to be flagged down to get a refill of our drinks. When completed, we asked for a desert (remember the manager said she would comp it). He brought it out, and two of our party shared it. When completed, he asked if we wanted our check. Yes ! He took 15 minutes to get us the check. The check has the supposedly “comped” desert on it full price! I tell the waiter, and he takes it back, adjusts it. I take care of the bill and we start to walk out. I see manager and go over to tell her all that happened - Kelley smith i believe her name was, stood there leaning on the rail, phone in hand at eye level - which she did not take away from her eyesight while nodding to me. I got a meek “sorry, thanks for bringing all this to my attention”. I did not get the felling she cared at all.Legends in Rumbling Bald Resort is the most expensive restaurant in lake lure, and I got lousy food, horrible service, And apparently there is no accountability. When the manager does not care, how do you think her staff will be?I have been a part time resident /homeowner at rumbling bald since 2007, and member of the resort and poa. I hate to write a bad review, since it is us, the poa that owns the facilities, but with a “progressional management team” to run it…but darn it, the restaurant stinks, and the community poa management needs to do something about this.As a side note, the menu is so limited as well - and has not changed since the summer . It’s expensive, very limited, and the meal and service is poorly executed.

5 of us were there to celebrate my mom’s 70’s birthday. The server had major attitude. They brought out dinner for 2 of us & the other 3 waited 15 minutes for our food. When we asked our server he said these 2 were ready!We requested to spoke with the manager who was an amazing lady.She apologized & offered discount as well as free dessert.The server behavior was absolutely unacceptable & rude. Even after the manager speaking with him, he continued to be rude.If this manager was not there, my mother’s BD would be completely destroyed .We would strongly recommend for someone to have a deep discussion with the servers & set up a professional training fir their servers. It is a shame this place to have servers like him.

Fantastic! Had wonderful time and the food came out perfectly and in a perfect amount of time. Both times we have come up this week we have enjoyed everything legends had to offer. I love coming here anytime while in RB’a resort, but this time Summer stood out and provided absolutely brilliant customer service. On our first night, even under all the stress of a busy Saturday on July 3rd, she made us and everyone around us feel welcome while clearly also handling the pressure during her busy holiday shift. Thanks Summer!

Food was delicious. Pizza is amazing the steak and salmon are also great. I think when ordering a 30$ meal you should get a different side other than fries. Service was not very good. Server was slow, forgot a meal on the ticket, and not knowledgeable about the local area. Atmosphere was also cool. The manager did comp half of one person's meal because it was late to the table so he/she was fair

Waited 1 HOUR and 30 MINUTES, For our food to come. Waiter CLEARLY forgot our order. And then asked if we wanted the check even though we didn’t get food. HELLO??? This was Soooooooo very disappointing. Might be better for other people as this was our first… and last time here. Food was cold, and dressing was wrong on the salads. The pizza was slightly warm so it was a little enjoyable. They did give us a discount, and I do believe the food would be great if it was warm.

Our family of 8 enjoyed dinner here the first night in Rumbling. Everything was delicious, our waitress was sweet and attentive.We ordered pizzas to take back to the rental house the next night. Delicious! Crust was so good. Would definitely eat here again!
