So my mom's friend stopped by here to grab some vodka, and me and my mom were just walking by the lake until we saw a lady kneeling on the ground by some animal, we go over to take a look and she tells us that it was a muskovy duck that someone just dropped off by the lake. We decided to name him Webster and he was very friendly and wasn't scarred of us being near him, he just didn't like trying to be petted, he enjoyed the mini toast we got at the store and he came right up and ate it out of my hand. I'm not sure how good the store is but if you're ever in the area you should definitely go see Webster as he is a very good duck who enjoys mini toast.

BE ADVISED! They moved up the road, 300 yards in the same complex as the Jeep and ATV rentals but aren’t able to update their Google. I’d hate for tourist to not be able to find their fun juice.

The sign might read...Going out of business soon. The shelves are half empty. There seems to be a constant turnover of staff. This location definately can use some new management and energy. I love to support local. I also want to believe it's all about the world's logistics problems but how a customer is handled when they walk in the door can't be blamed on logistics.

Edit: updating this review a year later from 1 to 4 stars. I'll leave the original write up for context. On my return trip it was a much different experience. I think the pandemic and a poor attitude of one employee affected this business just like all others. That said, this store still carries your base line spirits to support the boating crowd and a couple of cool bottles if you talk with the right person. The prices are fair and the guy I worked with this time was very talkative, kind, and personable. It was the total opposite of my last visit and it just goes to show that one bad visit doesn't warrant a write off for all businesses. Thanks for turning me onto this great bottle of NC distilled Sutler's Gin and for the service.--- original review:I visit a lot of liquor stores in different states but this is the first truly bad experience I've had. Maybe it's the COVID-19 climate or the gentleman I dealt with just had a bad attitude. I was hoping to pick up some good whiskies (and I usually spend quite a lot) but their poor customer service lost my business. Some of the other reviews seem positive if you're picking up the basics but if you're hunting bourbon, scotch, rye, etc - don't waste your time - go to Asheville or Johnson City TN.

Location of this store is the best thing about the store :), they have good variety of bourbons and cognacs. Owners were friendly and explained all my questions with patience. They were honest as well if they were not sure. No wines available at this place, may be that's how ABC stores chain works in NC.

Beautiful view of lake from the side of building. Went during their out of season so the little "beach" was closed to the public. Liquor store had a good basic selection. Employees send somewhat judgemental and didn't say anything to me as I was cruising around the store. There is an awesome little gas station directly across the street with boat rentals and a good beer selection. They were super friendly and welcoming at the gas station. Would rather get beer there than at the liquor store to be honest just because of how kind they were.

I completely understand why the store does not allow customers in the store right now. However, due to that the employees need to have a better knowledge of their inventory (brand, sizes and what the sizes mean). It would be a great help for novice drinkers.

Plenty of selection and they have a boat dock right next door. There is almost nothing better than taking a boat to a liquor store. If it is a quick jaunt, there is also a small general store across the street at the gas station. They serve some sandwiches Nd hot dogs too. Get a hot dog. They are top notch.

Randall was incredibly knowledgeable and helpful with recommending bourbons for my son's collection at Christmas. His choices were perfect!!! This will definitely be my "go to" place for information and to purchase in the future.

Not happy with experience at ABC Lake Lure today. Drove up sat for about 10 mins no one can out, guy comes walking up from boat about 100 yards away, reads sign that says wait in your car, so he walks in and immediately the manager and employee show up, they step outside with him, they both look at me waiting in my car and totally ignore me, talk with this guy go in and get his purchase and bring out to him. I had to yell at them to even get them even notice me. The employee finally comes to my car, I told him I was here waiting 10 mins before this guy walked up and you totally ignored me and took care of him. The manager just went back inside and I never saw him again. The employee said he was sorry that he normally watched for cars but the manager called him to the back and it was not his fault. I said well then whos fault is it, certainly not mine. This is what happens when you only have one store to deal with in a town. If I had any other choice besides ABC, I would certainly use it!!!!!!! This store sucks, and that is exactly what the employee stated to me!! Needs a new manager who cares about the customers!!!!

Everything you need to make your favorite cocktail. Only liquor is sold here no wine or beer. Store is clean, well stocked with plenty of helpful staff.

In town from pensacola FL they had a good selection of spirits. I bought a jar of howling moon apple pie moonshine made locally!!! Very delicious at 100 proof! Will defiantly be visiting again.

Selection is limited (basics from majors), but the reason I left empty-handed was because the guy working the counter was a jackass to everyone who came through.
