My family and I were here two years ago, and I must say that was very much impressed with the politeness of the staff, as well as the cleanliness of the store all throughout, we didn't make it to Publix, but hopefully we'll get a chance to do that soon visiting family this summer in Newport News, VA. There were 3 employees standing by the self checkouts and no registers open. I bought wine so they had to come check that. The machine wasn't working so I had to have a cashier come over to fix it. One or two of the staff should have been at a register.

So this has become a 'must stop & shop' whenever we are in OBX. The store is clean and the selection is absolutely amazing. The meats, deli and seafood are top notch along with their fresh pizza and sushi stations. I reminds me of the Ukrops chain in Richmond and both serve high quality items whether they are freshly made on-site or provided by the external suppliers. They also have an extensive Wine and Beer selection but the store feels somewhat smaller than the one further down the bypass in KDH.

Amazing place for all your shopping. Huge Wine and beer selection, fresh made sushi, produce they even have books and toys for the pool and beach.Staff are helpful with finding items and the store is kept very clean and well stocked.

Went to get a sub today. The counter where they make the subs was dirty. He wrapped the sun up with the wax paper within the sub. The guy making it wasn’t friendly at all. Must of been having a bad day. The lady doing the free samples was super sweet.

The staff are always friendly and helpful especially Michael. He is always willing to give you a hand to make sure that you received the best care during your visit to the store. If you have anything you are looking to get on a regular basis they can see if is available and make sure that it is in stock for you and your family. They Always have helpful and knowledgeable staff working.

This grocery store is very close to some of the nicest Southern Shores beach homes. It's a great place to shop while you are visiting this part of OBX. It is very clean and well stocked.

Good selection of foods and higher quality than next door or across the street. Nice selection of healthy and gluten free options along with other products for different dietary needs. The one complaint is the lack of staffing at checkouts. It's tough to find an open checkout even in the busy times, which makes for a long visit... Probably still the best around though.

Nicer than the Food Lion across the street. Layout changes continuously. Decent selection of some things. Prices are pretty high. Check websites of nearby places before you go in.

I came here looking for some cream cheese but not expecting to find any because the online ordering system had said they were out of stock but was very pleased and amazed to see they had one left. They also seemed to have a very good selection of other products and there honestly were not many gaps on the shelves. I had expected since this location is in a tourist Hotspot for it to have been sold picked clean but no there was plenty of items to choose.I am really glad I took and chance and stopped here

The folks that work in the store are always friendly and helpful. The bonus is there is a fuel station right in front of the store.The prices at the fuel station are competitive with the other gas stations in the area but with Harris Teeter. You have the added benefit of fuel rewards.

Nice store, convenient to our favorite place to stay on the OBX. A bit pricey, even for this area. Can use Kroger card. Even in busiest times, it is very good for getting customers through the checkout area.

I had never been to Harris Teeter before Duck Island. The store was well organized clean. Large beer and wine selections. Extremely fresh fruits and vegetables.

I love of Harris Teeter! Wild some of their regular grocery prices may be high, they offer excellent sales which I follow, and I find I can stretch my grocery dollars there better than any other store on the beach. The staff is very helpful and friendly and knowledgeable. They often have samples of produce, fresh baked bread, cheese, dips, etc. They always have a wide selection of seafood. They have an excellent selection of cheese. They have a good selection of international foods, organic foods, and gourmet foods. I always check at the far end of the checkout counters for markdowns and closeouts which can be an excellent value.

There is a lady who's worked here for years and has always been so helpful. Tonight she was working the self checkout. My toddler was being a handful and she could tell I was struggling. She personally scanned all of my items and bagged them for me while I held and entertained my very tired, fussy child. She didn't have to do that, but she went above and beyond. I wish I had gotten her name, I will next time and update this comment. Thank you so much!!

Prepared deli foods were great! Have a large selection of brands you don't see anywhere else, but lacking a lot of the common ones. Seems a bit more expensive than the other grocery options in the area, but they do stay open later!

The store was clean but not so well stocked. The rush of weekly visitors hadn't come yet ( it was Wednesday) and employees seemed far and few between. The front end manager was very helpful in helping me find an item and seemed in good spirits.

This is the cleanest store I have been to in the OBX. The prices are a little higher than that of Walmart however it is worth it to avoid the headache that is Walmart. The store is organized very well and has some beach items for families vacationing there. There is a household section that is helpful if your rental is missing that blender or coffee maker you need for a relaxing stay. The cold products are absolutely fresh as are produce items. The staff are nice and the flow of the location is conducive to a speedy shopping experience.
