Holy moo the ice cream was delicious. So many wicked flavors to pick it was almost impossible to choose. You can obviously taste them too which is great. Literally so many choices I don’t think I was even able to read them all on the board. I wish they had an option to just try every flavor…I would so pay for that too!!!! But def one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had. The berry Lavender was so scrumptious. Must stop. Must eat ice cream here.

We have been going to Holy Cow for 3 years now and it feels like each experience is better than the one before! I am not a big ice cream person but their banana pudding flavor is the best around! It was our dog’s first time on the beach and we decided to end the day at none other than Holy Cow! When the owner found out the cup of ice cream was for our dog, he went above and beyond to make him feel special! Thank for continuing to be our favorite ice cream place on the beach!

HOLY COW is right! This creamery is awesome! They have a ton of flavors, customer service was fantastic, and overall a great ice cream shop.I’ve actually never been to an ice cream shop that was absolutely packed and was served within 5 minutes, had my ice cream a minute later, and checked out in 2 minutes (we had 8 people within our order). We were greeted by who I think was the owner and he told us the ice cream was homemade and then we were asked our order and we’re on our merry way.The parking lot is small, the inside is small (no tables) but there are some seats outside. If you’re within walking distance we’d highly recommend taking the trip.All 8 of us enjoyed our ice cream - they have tons of flavors for everyone and supporting local is always nice. We will definitely be back while on vacation!

So delicious!! I want to try every flavor here! I got a cookie monster in a waffle cone. The ice cream is made with 14% heavy cream so if you have a sensitive stomach, do be cautious. They do have other options as well. I love their theme and can't wait to come back again soon and try an ice cream panini!

Holy Cow Creamy is a homemade ice cream shop with delicious flavors. While it may be a bit pricey, it's fair compared to others in the area. The ice cream is of good quality and tastes great. The busy parking lot can be a slight inconvenience, but overall, it offers a good experience with excellent customer service. 🐄🍦

Pretty good homemade ice cream. You got to try their Donut Panini, a warm donut with your choice of ice cream inside! Yum. Everything is a bit pricey, but it's on the beach and it's homemade so I guess it's understandable. They have some seating in front.

Came in after dinner for some dessert. Everyone wanted some ice cream. I was pretty full from dinner and did not want anything. As I was looking at the menu I noticed the donut panini. I asked about it and the lady behind the counter said it was a warmed-up panini stuffed with ice cream. They recommended stuffed with lemon ice cream. What can I say, I ordered and it was scrumptious. I also ordered a chocolate cone in a waffle cone. The place is laid back and folks are friendly. I will be back for more.

I love the atmosphere, I love the staff, and I love the wacky and creative flavor combinations they come up with. I just wish I loved the ice cream itself the same amount. Holy Cow Creamery -IS- the sort of place you want to get your ice cream from here in OBX. It's got a great location, the staff is friendly, the portion sizes are generous and everything is FUN FUN FUN. From someone who is a touch picky, though, I really wish I could taste the ice cream itself more. Instead, I found it to be a vehicle for sugary sweetness and the interesting creations they make here. That's perfect for a hot summer treat in the afternoon, but as desert after a delicious dinner (especially on a colder night) I want to taste the quality of the milk and the flavour of the ice cream itself.

Yummy homemade creations! We enjoyed the Holy Cow with salted caramel, pretzels and Oreos! My husband had vanilla and he said it has great creamy flavor! The waffle cones were fresh and crunchy! A great place to walk across the street to the public access beach spot too!

Donut panini was delicious! I had mine stuffed with the Irish cream ice cream. Customer service was good. Will definitely return and highly recommend! If anything, parking can be a little tricky because there appears to be limited parking lots.

Excellent home made ice cream! New batches made every 2 to 3 days. Lots of seating under porch roof. Vegan/non dairy choices. Try the donut panini—they warm up the donut then add your choice of ice cream. Why not?!

Holy Cow Creamery is a great OBX ice cream option. They have a wide selection of unique and yummy flavors that you won’t find at other ice cream shops in the area. The price is comparable with other places (this is not Dairy Queen) and the servings are generous! There is no indoor seating but chairs, benches and a picnic table on a covered deck out front making it a good option even if it’s raining. The parking lot is small so parking is limited if it’s busy. The service was fast and staff were friendly. Very cute shop. We will add this to our list of regular stops while visiting.

This place was so good! Have you ever had a donut panini? ME EITHER and let me tell you YUM! I had the donut panini with the West Third ice cream flavor and it was heaven. They also have ice cream flights to try 6 flavors and that was so worth it our kids loved it!!!

The first time I went, they ran out of their donut paninis so I got their tiramisu ice cream. I went the next day and finally got their donut panini! It was very good but I'd recommend a different flavor than chocolate for me, it tasted a little weird with the donut. Maybe something like vanilla would be better.

We were hoping to find a premiere source for creamy homemade ice cream after finding the beach to be loaded with custard stands. The reviews we read were ALL positive, and we had high expectations. But we were disappointed. The texture and flavor of the two recipes we sampled were way below great. The icy texture hinted of inadequate cream in the mixture. The added pretzels, cookie crumbs, and caramel chunks were not embraced by the hoped-for luxurious cream, but rather the additions remained isolated from the ice milk. Maybe we had a bad batch, but we will not return to pay $5.49 for one scoop of ice milk. Others found this creamery to be the best on the OBX, but I hope to find a better one.

We visited here while on vacation in the obx. They make the ice-cream on-site. The flavors are unique and delicious! They do an ice cream flight where there are 6 flavors you can get at once. I was like a little kid going here!

We stopped by and had icecream. I had Monster Cookie(Oreo cookie and chocolate chip cookie dough) in a Waffle cone, my husband had Butter Pecan, and my daughter had the Holy Cow, which is Caramel Icecream in a doughnut. You can get any flavor put in the doughnut. I recommend getting the icecream in a waffle cone because it let's the icecream flavor shine through! Their icecream is delicious! Whatever you get you won't be disappointed!!

The store front was clean and the staff attentive. Scribbling your order on a notepad seam's a little archaic but it works for them and it's a bit expensive. Salted caramel in a waffle cone and scoop in a cup for the wife. The ice cream was very good and the cone was fresh & crunchy. Definitely stop here again.*Note this review was completed without using ridiculous un-discriptive terms like out-of-bounds, OMG, on point, awesome, the bomb, yummy, delish, to die for, do your self a favor, trust me, etc.. Describe the food, service (or lack of) and provide details on the cost/copy of check and include pictures! Is the place clean? No one cares about the waiter/waitress names, their abilities, or if they look like they fell face first into a tackle box. They get changed like underwear and you don't get to pick one. No we don't care about your allergies or the need for gluten free food.

So many interesting flavors! The ice cream tasting flight was a clever way for us all to try a bunch of different things; almost like wine tasting for the kids; which they think is super cool. They got to chat about which flavors are their favorites and why... We've never done that with ice cream before but it made eating ice cream more of an adventure; even more of an adventure than walking along the beach to get there, but that is pretty cool too .
