I am challenged and cannot walk all over a store without a motorized cart. I had a list of items I needed for my dog. Coco Bear accompanied me to the store. I asked for help and Mitchell, did his best to get me everything on my list. This included trying on different harnesses and collars to match. I also purchased training treats and got to choose from several packages. The next thing was a food dish lift to give Coco Bear easier access. This associate went beyond being kind. He helped me in my decision making. I'm over 70 so I was pleasantly surprised. Thank you Mitchell.

I made a grooming appointment here, I called ahead to make sure the vaccination form I had would be valid to use. A woman answered and said yes, it only needed the Vet office name on it and the vaccination status, which includes her rabies vaccine number (which is also located on her tag with the same identifiable number.). I try to come in for my vet appointment and got turned away by Danielle because my dog’s picture wasn't on the form. They will not tell you that the picture must be on the form, but they want a picture of the animal on the records. They do not care for a description, the vet name, or anything as such. They want a picture. I argued that the picture means nothing since many dogs do look similar. The way it appeared is they care more about a picture of the dog than the actual vet records. If you are really that concerned about a picture, update the requirements on your site.

Please don’t send your poodle there! My poodle was shaved horribly and Danielle didn’t know what a poodle cut was. That’s ok not to know but at least don’t shave the top of his head. Mamamia!

I made an appointment for my 6 month old golden retriever on 2/13/2024 at noon in kernersville NC. I was greeted by a rude associate who clearly didn’t want to have my pet groomed from the beginning. She explained he was too large and his puppy behavior was unacceptable. He needed to not move at all, meanwhile there was a small dog barking his lungs off in the back while being groomed. She proceeded to put a rope around his neck ( something that would be used to guide a small dog). She proceeded to choke him. I asked her to please stop as he was gasping for air, she said, I know what I am doing! I then was able to get my dog and pull the rope off his neck, it was so tight it took two hands to loosen. She then said she prefers I don’t come back and have my dog groomed there. I have spent hundreds of dollars there for veterinary services. I will never spend a dime there again. I am very upset and disturbed how my 6 month old was treated.

Cashier was wonderful and went above and beyond to put me in touch with someone in the grooming department. The person on the grooming department, however, was very standoffish and wants to "evaluate" my puppy before agreeing to a grooming appointment. My puppy has been groomed before but is still learning about the process and sometimes wants to go at her speed versus the speed of the groomer. A little patience goes a long way and she acted as if she didn't want to be bothered.

We went for a first visit at the vet for our new kitten. The vet was very nice and took time to answer all of my questions. I would highly recommend using their services! Adding a pic of our baby for attention!

The prices displayed on the shelves are different than what you are charged at checkout. There is at least a $1 or more mark up on several items. If you notice after they ring you up, they are happy to refund you, and only you the money in cash, but they don't do anything to update thus information to make sure customers are charged accurately.... odd how they aren't repeatedly making the mistake of charging customers too little, but often in "error" over charge. Having different prices displayed and then actually being charged for higher prices is super annoying and it is time consuming to go through the process to have your money returned to you.They have a wide selection of pet items, and all the live pets in the store seem happy with clean environments to live. All of the staff are knowledgeable and friendly, except when it comes to pricing of items ringing up higher than they are displayed. This is something to be aware of when shopping here.

I was very frustrated yesterday for waisting an hour of my life driving back and forth to your store and being unable to have our dog groomed. The woman at the desk was hostile and told me that there has been a policy change that I was not made aware prior to the appointment. I was having trouble getting a flea and tick collar off of our dog and was told that there was no way for her to go back with it on. I did eventually get the small collar off but it felt like every step of the intake she was looking for any excuse to NOT groom our dog.

Went in store to purchase a new collar for my dog. The store did not have a large selection of small collars. The clerk was super nice at check out. Overall, it was a pleasant experience with my pet.

I am really thankful for the satisfaction guarantee because I was able to return purina proplan sensitive skin and stomach adult dog food, that none of my dogs would eat without putting broth on, for Natural Balance Limited Ingredient Lamb and also Beef. All 7 of them loved it right away and so far so good with everyone adapting well to it too. Thank you Petco for allowing me to do this. You have earned my confidence in your business with my dogs pet food needs for future purchases. You made choosing their food risk free and that is such a relief!

The worst experiences. They wasted my time three times. First time they said it was because I did not schedule a trim and bath cause they said he need a trim.The second time the groomer said she had the flu and couldn't groom him. & rescheduled. I rescheduled in Kernersville and the groomers said that she disnt feel comfortable because he is an older dog. I asked could they clip his nails she said no. But could not give me a good reason not to clip his nails.. they are awful. I should be reimbursed for my time lost. & a talk with the manager

Wasted pur time driving all the way over there to be told our puppy couldn't be seen because she didn't have a 2nd rabies shot done by them the doctor wouldn't like @ her since it was a visting physician not who was normally there. We wanted several other services done ie microchiping and further care. We've found a vet,/ groomer elsewhere closer to home

The groomer at this location is unprofessional. My dog was going here for the very first time at this location. As soon as we arrived she felt my dog and immediately said that he was too matted and she would not be able to groom him. He is a teddy bear breed and has curly hair. He was matted on his chest a little but nothing to that extent. I took him elsewhere and they had no issues and gave him a beautiful cut. The reason I give this place a 1 star is because I recently found out she recorded in my dogs profile that he bites. My dog is shy and will run away but has never bitten. I was right there the entire time. My dog never left my side. So now I am kicked out of all the Petco systems for grooming and this is on his record. This groomer should be ashamed. I personally think she is scared of dogs. Wrong profession!

I recently purchased an all in one betta fish kit that was comprised of multiple items. I was told it would included everything needed for a betta fish at a reduced price for reward members. After grabbing a few more things including the betta I went to check out and was told a much higher cost, and didn’t realize that the rewards discount wasn’t even applied.I would’ve been fine if I had just been taken advantage of and lost some money. But when setting up the tank at home things became worse. The tank which is marketed as a complete five gallon kit came with a filter only usable for tanks up to three gallons, no form of lighting, and a lid that doesn’t event fit due it being a folding piece of glass with no openings.Unfortunately I found out about most of this after already having the main tank set up under the assumption I was sold “all I needed”. I’m not going to force the betta fish purchased from this location to stay in the tiny plastic container and possibly die due to not being able to go back out to petco late at night to argue this and will attempt to salvage this extremely disappointing “deal”. The deal which was confirmed by two different employees, ended up being around 25% higher.In short if you want to be taken advantage of and lied to as well as being ripped off this is the place to be. I was hesitant to go to a chain pet store in the first place but will never step foot in one again. I was lied to, taken advantage of, and hope this will help someone avoid this chain, hopefully many people.

Petco in kernersville is the best. I walk in the store waited quickly by a friendly employee. I asked him for a teddy bear hamster. He brought me to this cutest blond hair teddy bear. The hamster is so sweet and cute i am so happy with my petThank you so much petco for your excellent service and wonderful animal

My customer experience at Petco is always perfect. The managers and staff members are there to assist me with my shopping needs. They are knowledgeable of their products and they knows what’s best for my dog. The Team is Awesome! If my hands are too full they will free my hands so I can continue shopping.I’m been shopping at Petco for 3 years and they’ve continued to provide excellent customer service in all departments.

They had boxes and boxes of dead crickets on the shelves. Their worms were all dead still on shelves. Their store was nasty and they should not be allowed to have chameleons. They always put them together never mist them hardly feed them.

Phenomenal. There was obviously a store set / planogram taking place. As busy as they all were EVERY single employee spoke to me and checked on me while I was shopping. Not in a “you’re still good right”? Way; but with a big smile willing and ready to help. I was pleased. The store was clean and well organized, it was honestly a breathe of fresh air. My one and only complaint is check out time; not due to employees but the equipment they have. On multiple occasions I’ve been to this location and the check out system continuously freezes up on them mid ringing out. It would be great to see corporate fix that and give them what they need to thrive 😁

Our fur babie, Chanel, a 12yr old shitzu/poodle mix, favorite place to go! We take her in at least once a week to look at the birds. It's her jam for some reason! The staff is very nice and the store always looks great. We love the grooming and Vet on site, so convenient.
