The staff at Duplin County Animal Services does an excellent job. They have been understaffed and overwhelmed with a constant influx of animals. I know cases where they have gone over and beyond the call of duty.Our main problem is DC has a ton of irresponsible and cruel pet owners and breeders. Our county commissioners also hold some blame in this situation! Everyone should have to register their animals and pay taxes on them. Breeders should have to be certified, and they should have their kennels inspected every 6 months.Fix these problems and the staff at DCAS will have to look for other jobs. Put the blame where it belongs and not on the animal shelter!

If your dog is ever taken or stolen they will make you pay for YOUR own dog AND try selling them unless they are a service animal! this place is a joke never go here and pray no one ever takes your babies here! I would give 0 starts if I could.

I have no choice but give a feed back on the duplin county animal control services . as a former animal service agent and certfied animal control protection certications i for one understand the issues with overloaded work load all the animal shelters are facing in 2023 but that said i moved here a year ago for last 6 months i leave my home in willard nc and go into dupin city i would see some where around 1 3 dogs per day runing at large crossing are standing on road eating something i have to get out and hope the crazy drivers don't hit us.and chase it off i would follow it be sure it moves to safe place. but when i can dupin county so called animal control no answerleave massage no return if i call the emergeny # tell the dispather what gonning on she not so friendly and saids i reley it. we must do something to correct this issue its not safe for drivers are the dog's if you have a ordinnce they should in force it. picking up the dogs want resolve nothing the owner must be cited for allowing his dog out of his control. called at large. i hope we can come together and make dupin county animal services a better sitration.

Tried calling animal control from 12 to 5pm no response. I have a dog situation which needs to be addressed. Since no one has not made an attempt to contact me this hunting dog that was in the area was attacked yesterday by a neighbor's pitbull hurting him. He is hiding out at my house. The pitbull came back this morning but I was there to send him on his way. The hunting dog will be dead soon if he is not picked up and the neighbor's spoken to. All Good, dog has been picked up. Thank you.

Horrible customer service!! Tried for several days to adopt a dog listed as URGENT. I called repeatedly and was given the run around, faxed and emailed them, left messages that all went unanswered. None of my references that I provided in my application were contacted, either. Even the lady from Rescue Me was less than pleasant. I don't understand how people who are charged with protecting these animals and preach "adopt don't shop" are so heartless and make the process so difficult. I guess this is why the shelter is full... no one involved seems to care at all.

Poor service. I have called and left messages for a call back. No response from them. The reason I called them was a Male cat has been hanging around my home. Needed them to come get him because he was sick, today I sat with that poor cat while he died. So just want to thank them for nothing there service is more than poor.

I put in an application for a dog, that they said had no takers. Never got a call. They had gave her to the humane center an hour after i left. I will never do business with them again. First and last.

They allowed 3 week old puppies to go to a rescue and leave the mama behind. I honestly think they gave the puppies to a dog flipper. Than claimed the puppies were weaned. They NEEDED 5 more weeks with their mama.Get out of working with animals if you can’t even do that right!!!

not happy that they dont seem to have a chip reader, or know a near by vet that does to check for the chips! Our 3 yr old cat had been stolen, they had him up for adoption and 2 months went by with him gone to find he's been sent to SC for adoption where they checked for a chip, and we got him back after we had to adopt him! USE YOUR FUNDING AND GET WITH THE TIMES< its 2017.

They are a small facility trying to keep up with a large population of uncared for pets. They do a fabulous job of getting dogs out the front door and they care about the animals welfare. Unless you have been in their shoes on the other side of the counter you have no idea so you cannot judge.
