Do not get your dog groomed here especially if you are looking for the shed release.I have gotten the Chevrolet release done at Petco’s in Baltimore and it has always been fantastic.I got my dog back today and chunks of hair are still coming off of him. There is absolutely no way they did the shed release on him and blow him and brush him out.

Petco had everything I needed. One of the floor associates helped me find something I needed. The cashier must've been having a bad day as I tried to be helpful and tell her the treats were 2 for 3.50 and she snapped at me that she is well aware of the price of the treats. So I don't recommend trying to be helpful. Hope things get better for her.

My daughter's dad has tried again to help get the fish tank where it needs to be as we all have come to love it. Subsequently, he sought out a fish expert of whom specified a certain filter and now the fish tank has white fuzz which after some research says that it comes from water mold or bacteria in the water well that can't be as IT uses aquarium water and has had the tank tested and it's good so now once again we are having issues that they said we wouldn't have and have two filters because it should do a better job to filter the water as they suggested ( thus proving they are there to sell products not information ) also they do more playing with the animals than helping customers on numerous occasions it was like being at a petting zoo. Also they suggested we buy a bigger tank, and filter that seem to both have been for nothing as soon as the filter was put in the water next day we had to buy more filters and weeks later it started to get white fuzz subsequently the little filter we had originally works fine on its own as we didn't have these problems before THUS IN THE END I HAD TO DO MY OWN RESEARCH WHEN THE EXPERTS AND INDIVIDUALS AT A PET SHOP CANT EVEN KEEP FISH WATER CLEAN OR HAVE ANY IDEA ABOUT THEIR PRODUCTS THAT DO SO.

This is a chain type pet store. Always well stocked. The staff are always friendly and happy to share their own pet experiences and knowledge. Once I find a store I like and have a good experience every time, I'll always go back. Good job guys

Worst service ever, I wanted at the register for what seemed like 10 minutes before I went walking to try and find someone. It took forefor Paula to come out of the back. Then she would not even acknowledge that I was there. Is this the best you can do really. I will never retto this location again!

Had a very poor experience today with the grooming department. Amber, in the grooming departmen, has the worst attitude and energy you could imagine. I arrived 15-20 minutes late for our grooming appointment (scheduled for the first appointment of the day at 0830). I acknowledged my being late and did not ask for any special treatment. Amber proceeds to tell me that any other time she would have not seen us and turned us around (with such a bad attitude). She then goes right up to my pup, no greeting - doesn't call his name or anything - not friendly at all, and puts her leash around his neck. My pup cowers down and growls. Amber then says 'if he bites me or attempts to bite me or the table, you're coming to pick him up!' What??!! My pup is not aggressive, hasn't bitten anyone EVER and has always had positive grooming experiences. I shared this with Amber and she says, 'well that's what an owner told me yesterday!' Did I mention that Amber is supposedly the grooming manager? I decided to take a look at reviews for this Petco location - Amber's name and unfriendly, poor attitude is consistently in quite a few reviews. What is this store doing to prevent others and their pets from having such bad experiences with Amber. I most certainly will not be returning!

The people are awesome and the store always smells so good...like new house/car. Selection of fish is limited but most pet stores seem to have problems getting fish at all. Near empty tanks every where, unless you want goldfish etc.

Today, I visited Petco for the first time. I picked out my items and placed my order online as they were running a promo for in-store pickup orders. I placed my order while shopping a nearby store and headed back to Petco about 15-20 minutes later. When I arrived, I notified one of the employees that I had placed an order and I was going to shop for some other items while I waited for my pickup order to be prepared. She told me that she was going to gather my items right away and it would be ready before I left. Within a few minutes, she and another employee prepared my order for pickup and it was ready to go.While shopping, I came across some kitten food that was listed at a cheaper price on their website. I asked an employee about a price match and she promptly confirmed that they would honor it.As I was checking out, one of the employees that prepared my pickup order recognized me and immediately started placing the appropriate items in my cart. Everyone was very friendly and helpful right from the start.When I reached my vehicle and loaded my items, I checked my receipt for accuracy and realized that there was an error. It was a simple mistake, partially my fault. I brought my receipt back into the store, explained the mistake, and the cashier immediately recognized the error and corrected it. She apologized for the error, I apologized for creating the confusion, and the problem was resolved.My experience at this location was exceptional. The store was well kept, the employees were super friendly/helpful, and I will definitely be a repeat customer.Thanks for an awesome experience!

We came in today to purchase a dog toy. Walked past the fish tanks and was greeted by a very friendly associate named Alan. We ended up being educated on how to improve our fish tank at home and bought 2 new fish. Alan is professional, friendly, personable and an absolute wealth of knowledge. I've never had a better experience with an associate at a pet store then I did today and I hope his managment recognizes how beneficial he is to your team. At the end of our conversation Alan told us that today was his first day working at Petco. I was baffled, I would have thought he was the manager with his professionalism and expertise that he demonstrated. Alan you will be the reason we return to this petco, thanks for all your help and knowledge.

Had a bad experience with this store. Took my puppy Rocko there several times. Received a call from grooming manager Amber who is not friendly at all. She said Rocko was vicious and violent and if it happened again he could not come back. Rocko goes to the nursing home 3 times a week and he is not vicious or violent. He is honestly a loveable pup. When I picked him up he was traumatized. I will never take him back to Petco. I spoke with store manager also and got nowhere. I wrote a review on Petco page they took it off. Please don't be fooled. They only post the good reviews.

Came to purchase a new fish but left immediately after seeing the conditions this location had its fish in.Please take better care of the animals and take pride of your store. It is very upsetting seeing the conditions the poor fish are living in.. dead fish in ALL of the tanks..Betta fish barely alive in its container.. Tanks looked liked they haven’t been cleaned in weeks. Etc. I will not be returning and wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone.

I returned a bag of dog food. I didn’t have my receipt but the cashier was courteous and told me pick another bag to exchange it. Was really impressed there was no hassle and I got the food my dog wanted!

Recently purchased over $ 100.00 in Saltwater fish and 2 died at $ 25.00 each. I called the store and they advised that there was a no return or replacement policy. I will drive to Matthews to Nemos Reef were they warranty their fish.

Absolutely disgusting fish tanks. Piles of dead fish, you can smell the ammonia walking by; fish have black ammonia burns all over them. I used to come here alot for my live plants but whoever takes care of the fish now clearly don't care at all about their health. I don't mean to be a Karen but this is unacceptable..

We went to this pet store basically for ferret food and a fish tank for a beta glowfish. First off they had two ferrets that were trashing their environment lol.There was a large selection of saltwater fish along with tanks and plants to place in their environment. There wasn't much of a selection of ferret food, don't like Marshall ferret food. They actually had reptiles and such there were tarantula's, snakes and even some blind gheckos.The associate that helped us out with fish food and talked us into and aquarium with a heater for our beta lol she checked us out and even found us some discounts.The only reason I kept a star was all the stock still on carts all over.

Messy store, with some things unorganized and dirty. Today was my first time at this location to pick up an online order in store. Out of the two items, one needed to immediately be returned because it was already broken in the petco plastic bag AND it didn’t have the oxbow animal health label on it, by which what I received looked nothing like the way it was supposed to look in the photos online. Utterly dissatisfying to see that employees here can’t even choose a more acceptable looking item than the BROKEN one that was put in my order. It was supposed to be a gift, but I will not accept being given a product that is already broken and without the label. I complained to the people at the front and there was no apology. As for the other item in my order, it came extremely dusty and dirty. It’s a new food bowl that is also supposed to be a gift, but it’s so dusty that it’s obvious when first opening the bag and it’s ridiculous that I have to clean it myself as soon as I had arrived home. Very disappointing that neither of the two items I received were in acceptable condition. I’ve never had these troubles at another petco location but here, I wouldn’t trust the employees. It’s clear that there needs to be some improvement in their training and education on customer service. Not only did I have these issues with my pick up order, but I also spent a while looking at the guinea pigs available for adoption, one of which I was interested in adopting, but each employee just kept walking past to do their own thing and never approached me to ask if I needed help or had questions. This is by far the most disgusting, unprofessional petco location I’ve ever been to.

This was our first time at this store. We weren't asked if we needed any help then when we get to the counter there wasn't anyone there the first, second and third time we headed that way. We continued browsing but then another customer came up behind us looking for someone to check us out so I went to find someone and they were all talking in the back. One associate apologized but then when I said to my daughters that they were talking in the back the woman says she was "talking about work." I wasn't even talking to her but was talking to my children but then when I said to her that didn't matter and we shouldn't have had to come look for her, she rudely said "well I looked and didn't see you." Again not an appropriate reply to a concern. Then she continues to say "well you weren't there." We were clearly there if I had to come look. Not sure who this young lady is but she's very rude, unprofessional and definitely should not be working with customers. And to do this in front of children AND another customer was even more UNPROFESSIONAL.

Took my very difficult older dog to get groomed and nails trimmed. Normally a nail trim requires and exorcism and holy water but they got it done. I HIGHLY recommend them.

My family recently adopted a dog from a local foster home and we wanted to get training right away to make sure that we were doing what was best for our new family member. So we looked around at various classes and decided on the Petco classes. We attended a 6 week class with our dog and it was great. The classes are kept small, the trainer, Jack, is amazing! He was so patient with our attention lacking pup. Jack gave us so many helpful tips, was very patient with us, and then gave us appropriate homework that was doable. Roscoe, our dog, learned so much and while we still have things to work on, I had a great time and would HIGHLY recommend the classes here. If you can get Jack for your classes then do it! He is a natural with animals.Due to the classes, we also began taking Roscoe to their grooming area. The groomers are patient there and welcoming. He was nervous the first time but they helped ease his worries and the next time he went back he was much more at ease. Chelsea is great with Roscoe and we appreciate all her efforts to keep him handsome.

Typically nice people and great service. Yesterday on the other hand we brought our dog to be groomed and the groomer never pet my dog, said his name or made him feel welcomed or at ease. He does have some anxiety but has been groomed for 10 years no issues. He was so stressed when he left it was awful- the worker made me stressed. The manager said he was going to watch the cameras but no idea of he did. Can’t say I will be back.

I shop at this store all the time and the past year or so service has really gone downhill; Cant get fresh/live worms for geckos, most times over half the containers are dead or they don't have any available at all; My recent & LAST visit was last week. i waited a significant amount of time to be checked out although there were numerous employees standing around chatting among themselves. I was charged full price for items clearly marked 50% off. After paying i asked for a bag for my items and was told if i wanted a bag it would be .10. When I got home and realized I had been over charged i called back to the store and was told they couldn't give me a refund but next time I was in to have the receipt and they would give me 50% off an item. i DO NOT want 50% off, i want my money refunded due to i have no intentions of shopping here again after this last experience topping off the past year or so

It's been about 8 months since I took my dog there to be groomed, but really feel that I should share my experience. I own a mini sheepadoodle with a super sweet temperament. When I initially began bringing my dog there, I selected a groomer that was known for being good with puppies. Over a couple of grooms, I noticed that my puppy started showing signs of anxiety and didn't want to go to the back. When I'd pick my puppy up, the groomer that I selected was not there. Another person would have groomed my dog without my knowledge or okay. The last experience that I had with them was the last straw. I dropped off my well-cared for doodle to be groomed, and she returned to me, butchered. When I picked her up, I was told that she was extremely matted and had "hematomas". I was completely shocked and without words! My dog returned to me with scorched red skin marks and blood stains all over her body. I called back and spoke to a male manager who apologized to me for my experience and told me that my next groom would be at no cost. By the time I went back to claim the free grooming, there was a new manager who stated that she had no knowledge of my experience. She was also unapologetic and rude. I did receive the grooming at no cost, but the experience was poor and I was afraid to let them cut her. I haven't been back since. No amount of rewards points or free grooming is worth what my animal went through. I've showed the pictures to our vet and her new groomer, both of which stated that it looks like my dog had been knicked and experienced razorburn. Based on my experience, I would caution anyone against bringing their animal there to be groomed. I only wish I could upload the pictures here.

I went in for my daughter's birthday to get fish and had explained I was setting up everything when I got home. I proceeded to get home and do everything it said to do on the packaging for the tank temp was good etc. So I acclimated the fish to the tank before I put them in. 30 min go by 1 of 4 fish had died. Another two hours go by and I check on them.. 2 more had died. So I took a trip up there with my receipt to try to get a refund or replacement fish. Well the manager at night told me she needs a water sample and bodies. Okay. So I go back home and put the fish and water in a container. But when I get there she proceeds to tell me she can't test the water because it's contaminated now... It's the same water from the tank and It was less than 10 minutes nor did she specify how to bring them in. With that being said they did nothing for me and told me I shouldn't have done it the same day.. In my opinion I feel like someone at the beginning should have warned me before purchasing 30 dollars worth of fish.

Kelly Ann for one is very knowledgeable and knows about slot of the different fish and cats dogs reptiles and Petco prices are less than Pet Smart . Live aquarium plants living in aquariums are here when not found else where .

I am new to the area and I have a curly haired mini schnauzer puppy. They offered a styling suggestion and will tweak the cut as we go. They also have a great discount program, so the groom was really affordable. I'm back for a third groom and my baby looks so cute! Thank you for helping me find the perfect cut for her!

I’ve been waiting almost 30 mins at the saltwater fish. I haven’t been greeted. The young guy collecting the fish for customers has made eye contact with me at least ten times but has yet to help me. I have been skipped by three other customers. And now he’s on to the next. I have never felt so ignored in a retail store in my life. I’m trying to buy over a 100 bucks in fish and being treated like I’m buying gold fish. Shame on the kannapolis petco. Worse customer service experience I’ve ever had. Sad I will not be coming back!!
