I wish the owners would sell this place to someone who would stock the shelves. This place is super close to my house and would be much more convenient than traveling to Lowe’s in High Point or Greensboro, but unfortunately this place never has anything I need. The shelves are practically bare in many parts of the store.

I want to take this time to personally thank the owner and employees of my True Value Hardware store in Jamestown NC! I called because I knew I wouldn't make it before closing to get propane for my Motorcoach! They said don't rush we will be waiting and ready for you when you get here! There's a cold front coming this week thanks to them and there great customer service I'm good to go!

I do not understand the positive reviews for this place. My husband went there two months ago to fill propane tank. No one working including several men knew how to fill the tank! He ended up buying a new tank of propane somewhere else. He called yesterday to make sure someone would be there before going to get tank filled. He was told someone would be there after 3 pm. Drove there and was told the one person that knows how to fill tank wasn’t there! Called again today and was told the same thing. Also told they closed at 5. Arrived at 4 pm and they’re closed. What a useless bunch of so called employees!

The owner refuses to restock the store. Ever since the new ownership it has continually gone down hill. Extremely disappointed, thanks for ruining my local hardware store.

Well stocked, organized, friendly staff. Rather go here than Lowes or Home depot, but they have the things you need without the chaos. That home town hardware store environment is nostalgia producing, and their location is perfect when you are between the major cities on a jobsite and need something now. Clean floors, well staffed, and the staff KNOWS exactly where things are when you ask them! Yeah that's word in my book. Nice place you got there folks. Look forward to my next visit.

Service and employees are great. However, you have to be picky about what you buy out of there. Went there to get some Gorilla Glue for my daughter. When we got it home, it was clearly old product and it wouldn't even come out of the container. It wasn't worth the 5$ to drive back and get it rectified since I bought the last one.

No offer to assist with removing lawn mower from car, hold the door open or assist with finding wretched wrench extender to change spark plug in riding mower, even though I told him that I have never done it before. Last time I used this store location, I went in to pick up my lawn mower,, that I had dropped off for servicing and they brought out the wrong one, that was much smaller and cheaper looking, even though I gave them the ticket check handed out at the time of drop off. The customer service sucks and they always appear to be understaffed. Maybe, that's why they don't extend themselves to help customers or assume everyone that comes in are pros and know what they are doing.

The owner/management shouldn't allow people to work in the store when they don't have very much knowledge (much less a working knowledge) of hardware/equipment etc. The associates (3 young people) are PITIFUL. Had I not been able to eventually locate what I needed, I would've been out of luck. They were even LESS knowledgeable than big box store associates, and that's saying something! You would think a local hardware store could at least hire a retiree or two with hardware store knowledge/knowledge of product location. Sad. VERY sad.

This is a really good hardware store, haven't been in one in several years that has this good of a selection of items you need for most things around the house. Beats going to lowes hands down.

Service is great. selection of basic DYI home improvements such as small repair including plumbing, fence repair, lawn care & maintenance as well products such as dog, cow, chicken, horse feeds are available. Prices are moderate but store is clean, employees are pleasant & knowledgeable. Shop is easy to locate , parking is available for everyone including trucks, cars, wheelchair accessable or handicap accessible as well as entrances. Clean well kept establishment. Over all a nice experience. Thanks

The owner was refilling my propane tank and let the gas spill out while doing so!! Not a little, ALOT !!! That whole area was fogged up like an Ozzy concert !!!!! Then he said" it was my tank had too many vapors in it." He (The Owner) proceeded to charge me $30.00 (More than Double) for his own terrible service !!!

Would definitely not recommend them for fixing parts on machinery. Dropped a chainsaw off 6 weeks ago and was originally told they were 2 weeks behind. Only thing that we needed was a bar nut put on our chainsaw and then 6 weeks they couldn't get that done. Went to pick it up and they didn't even have our parts that belong to our chainsaw. Guy had to rob parts off of another piece of equipment to get it back to us in the same condition it was when we left. I'm not really sure the guy knows what he's doing!

Huge improvement over the other hardware store that was on this spot previously. Physically, it has the feel of a much bigger store. I've found hardware here that I've not found in the super-stores. Very helpful staff, including the owner. Prices might be a little higher but gas prices make this store a convenient treasure for hardware and such.

This store offers a service to come to your home, pick up your propane tanks, fill them, and return them to your home. I called and spoke to their manager Caleb who promised to pick my tanks up 2 weeks before Christmas 2020. After many calls and a face-to-face talk with the owner when they never picked up the tanks, they finally showed up on January 13 of THIS year. I went to this store again on March 6 this year and asked for the service again. I personally spoke to Caleb who wrote my name and phone number in his notepad. After AGAIN not hearing from them after 5 weeks, I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. They finally filled the tanks on April 9 after they received the complaint from the BBB. I never received an answer from the owner or from Caleb what the problem is, and the BBB has just informed me the business never responded to them either. Obviously the business feels if they don't respond to a problem, the problem doesn't exist. Caveat emptor!

True Value, Jamestown, NC, should be everyone's GO-TO spot for hardware needs !! I needed VERY specific screws for fancy, Italian cabinet knobs and (mistakenly) ventured to Home Depot. After looking for an employee for 10 minutes the response to my pleas for help were, " you're on your OWN".Thankfully, I thought to go to True Value. Caleb and his entire staff immediately found EXACTLY what I needed. How these employees could possibly find the EXACT right screw in a row of thousands was jaw-dropping !! They were completely focused on providing incredible customer service !I will honestly make True Value Jamestown my FIRST STOP for hardware needs and save myself the anxiety of roaming the aisles of the competitors, checking MYSELF out and being ignored by a staff that's overworked, underpaid and generally unappreciated ( just like their customers !)

I was there this weekend. The employees were not mask and they are price gouging on some items. I bought a bail of seeding straw and they charged me $8.65, normally 4 bucks. I also bought pine straw and it was old and molded and also overpriced.I live in Jamestown and try to buy local and I have had good experiences there in the past. Just a heads up.

I drove from North High Point because I wanted a hardware store with a good selection. But they didn't have a single can of gloss black spray paint with the primer in the can. Finally settled on a different approach. A little disappointed but I will come back.

I went into this store to try and a couple replacement screws. The entire time I was in the store not a single employee even acknowledged I was there. Numerous employees walked passed me during the 15 minutes I was wandering around the section where the screws and bolts are. You would think that if you see a customer wandering around trying to find something, they would ask if they could help you. I finally asked an employee if he knew if there was a difference in thread spacing on a certain screw. All I got for an answer was "nope", and he walked away. I always try to support local smaller businesses but with terrible customer service like that, I will just take my money to Home Depot.

Helpful staff and close to Penny Road. Costs a little more than the big stores but with it for the convenience. They will also repair small engines of you want to give your yard equipment a tune-up.

I suppose covid-19 doesn’t shop here because the employees do not wear masks or ask customers to wear masks either. No social distancing procedures in place. Just a bottle of hand sanitizer at check out, which is nice considering they probably went out of their way to provide it. To the owner: please take covid seriously, ask your employees to wear masks, as well as your customers.

For a hardware store doing business inside of a moderately small space they are very well stocked and likely have what you're going to need. The staff are "small town" friendly.
