My one year old dog has “Happy Tail Syndrome”. Essentially he wags his tail so hard it bangs in to things until he bleeds.And by bleeds, I mean slippers the walls, doors, floor - everything.I called for an appointment - explained that my breeder and trainer both felt the only solution may be a procedure to amputate it - so I asked if they did these procedures.They said yes, but they’d have to see him first.After a couple hours at their facility, I was charged $234 for:A consult, Rabies shot, fecalyzer, three meds and some shampoo.And was told no on the procedure because his issue was a skin irritation.I explained that he has banged his tail 5-6 times over the past few months (the 6th or 7th time happened in the office - he splattered blood on the walls where he met the Vet as well as in the waiting room.)So I paid and left. I immediately went to another Vet in town that had walk ins and as soon as I walked in they knew he had “Happy Tail Syndrome”.End result - he has an appointment for the procedure in a week and a half - (they offered to do it tomorrow!!)I went back to College View to ask for a refund for the things we were going to be needing and I was told they didn’t offer refunds.And the statement was made that they didn’t remove body parts from pets unnecessarily.Understood.But you certainly charge a lot of money for unnecessarily things!

Even if you have an appointment be prepared to wait. On average, I wait around 45 minutes to an hour after my scheduled appointment time to be seen. They could at least let people know that it’s taking longer and why, instead of leaving them in waiting rooms well past their appointment time. I’ve experienced better waits at people doctors.In addition to long waits without apology, be prepared to pay $45 every time the vet looks at your dog for 20 seconds. Even for routine shots, there’s a $45 charge.Today was the last straw, I've since moved on from this overpriced vet. There are far cheaper solutions in the surrounding area.

They were very good to my dog and made sure he was taken care of. The vet tech was great and went over all the different options for care. The vet though was kind of rude, when I would ask a question she would interrupt me to answer the question but she would answer a question I didn't ask I just stopped asking her questions and waited for the vet tech to come back.

I highly recommend this practice. I normally take my pets to Jacksonville Vet Hospital which is their sister facility. They weren’t able to get my sick dog in for a same day appt but managed to get me scheduled here instead. They warned me that a work in appt might take extra time but I was in and out relatively quickly. All the staff I’ve worked with are super friendly and seem to genuinely like working here. Dr. Thomas is also very knowledgeable and easy to talk to and will make sure you leave with the best care and information possible. I’ve already had some bad vet experiences in the area so I cannot stress enough that this is the place to take your pets. Thank you Dr. Thomas and the rest of the team!

I will NEVER understand why the receptionist insist that my grand pup needed a heartworm test when the dog was 3 days past due for his simparica Trio . First off it takes six months after a dog is bit by an infected mosquito for microfilaria to develop into heartworms there is no reason to want a heartworm test a dog that's 3 days late other than trying to rip somebody off and make more money. Then call my daughters dog bad because he didn't want his nails trimmed. I definitely wouldn't recommend this money-hungry vet it seems they care more about money than they do your pets

I brought my Senior dog to this clinic for the second time today, I wasn’t one of those dog owners “ expecting miracles “ on my 17 year old best friend so to say I was more than pleased with the basic exam, and realistic plan of treatment. Everyone and I mean everyone from check in to checkout was great, the Dr is not part of the routine team Big shout out to her she was an English rose( if I’m correct by her accent) the office was quiet, professional, they handled the dog and me ( with my endless talking and questions) with patience! I will return here again and recommend it highly

Very thankful for this place as the receptionist responded quickly and doctor came out quickly to check on a cat I found twitching in the middle of the road. I tried to go to Academy but I was placed on hold and then when I got there I was ignored. Unfortunately the cat had passed but the doctor was very empathetic and sweet. I didn’t catch her name because I was crying but definitely going to start taking my 4 animals here or at the Jacksonville office. They made a great first impression as my friend Heather told me to go here after Academy disappointed.

We just had our first visit at College View today for our dog and cat to be examined and get up to date on shots. Dr. Thomas and the rest of staff were very friendly and informative. My cat, who doesn't care for anyone but myself, liked the staff just fine! The office was very clean and even smelled clean. Prices were very reasonable as well. We will continue to use this vet and I highly reccomend them!

We had a lot of miscommunication with this vet, relied on the office managers advice of our dog being okay for one more week without his medication, which ended in near-death and a $700+ vet bill that they would not take any responsibility for.AS A FOLLOW UP:I will rephrase $536.32 on 1.27.22 and $199.13 on 1.28.22 are in excess of $700Again, my comment was about your office manager saying my pet would be fine for another week and your company not taking responsibility for her comments/actions. He was not anywhere near death on that Monday when I called and spoke with Tammy. I gave your company ample time to rectify the situation and take some sort of responsibility and you have failed to do so. I do acknowledge and have not denied that our pet was late for the medication - again please re-read the review and emails if needed. My complaint is on your manager, again I haven't ever heard back about any formal training she has to make the calls, saying that my pet was fine for another week "Honestly, if he's gone this long he will be fine another week." Making it seem the late administration of his medication was not a big deal. Clearly, that was not accurate. This has been and will always be my complaint. Nothing has changed.

We called to get our new pup in to see the vet, and were given a same day appointment! The staff was super friendly, and made sure they addressed all of our questions and concerns. Our fur baby has serious separation anxiety and we liked that they wanted to experiment with more natural remedies before going straight to medication. We also just had him neutered at their sister site, Jacksonville Veterinary Hospital, and couldn’t be happier! They took great care of our little guy and called the following day to check up on him. We were also very pleased with the transparency of their pricing. They let us know how much everything would be upfront, and made us aware that some things were “extra” but not always necessary. We really liked knowing exactly what we were paying for, and not being pressured into unnecessary services. We will return here again and again for all our pet’s needs!

My dog Jake loves going here. He doesn't mind the shots because the vet is so nice to him. Every vet we see, they're nice and so good to him. You can tell they love their job. Jake has even gotten into some prescription medication by accident and they took great care of him and calmed me and him very easily. They call us to check on him after visits and remind us when he needs his shots again. I'm grateful we found such a loving environment for my canine!

very disappointed. my girlfriend has been asking for simple records of her cat for weeks with no response. her other cat was sick and in need of testing. This office took weeks to respond to her plea. The result was fatal. The kitten died and we don't even know what it died from because we couldn't get an appointment in a reasonable amount of time for an ultrasound. I would NOT recommend going here for your petm the customer service is poor. I've never been to a Veterinarian office where they don't even get back to you in 2 weeks. so sad.

Wonderful caring staff, always friendly and attentive. They take the time to make sure your pet is comfortable and explain what steps are being taken to get them well again. They are very accommodating and managed to see my pet today without an appointment because he had been sick over the weekend. Great vet.

I absolutely love this place. Our prior vet clinic was very inconsiderate when it came to letting us know ahead of time what was going to be done during the checkup, and giving us a rough estimate of the total price. This clinic has been an absolute dream come true, they are very kind and take the time to explain to you everything that you need to know before your procedure/exam begins. They send you home with free samples, and do everything in their favor to make sure you’re not breaking your bank, while still making sure your pet is being taken care of. They also offer “pet of the week” where they offer little gift bags to those who come visit if your pet is selected. It’s the little things that really make this place so wonderful. If i could give more than 5 stars I absolutely would. Thank you college view staff!!

Our beautiful Husky needed emergency care. I was so impressed with the Veterinary tech and Dr. Brinson. They were calm and attentive and treated us like family. Prices were beyond reasonable. We will definitely continue care with this Veterinary Clinic and are so grateful for our care today.

I have recently moved to the area and chose to take my dogs to College View Vet Clinic based on the location and reviews. I am very pleased with the way my dogs have been treated. The receptionist is extremely helpful even contacted my old vets office to get previous records. The vet techs are very friendly and the veterinarian has been kind enough to answer all 20 plus questions I have each visit. I have never felt rushed or as though I'm an inconvenience. I strongly recommend this office to anyone that is looking for a friendly and helpful vet office.

College View is the best Veterinary Clinic I have ever been to since I've owned pets (and that's a long time, with lots of pets and from coast to coast)! The Staff are kind, gentle and caring with my pets, they remember my pets, they answer all of my questions, making appointments is never a problem; what more can I say? We took our 4 year old German Shepherd there today because of a wound we found on her the night before. They were able to get us in with an appointment the same day we called and took great care of our girl. We felt very welcomed by the two women who checked on us in the room and Dr. Brinson was great! This will be our go to vet from now on 😊 thank you to all of the staff for helping us make sure Jessie was okay!

I called to get my cat seen for what I thought was something simple and turned out to be a very serious health issue. I was devastated when I heard the news, and yet I felt like I had so much support from both offices. The entire staff was simply amazing!!! I felt like the doctors did a wonderful job calling me throughout the day to give me a status when I hospitalized my cat. While I wished they had An ultrasound machine to get faster results than having to wait on another hospital, I understand medical equipment is extremely expensive (especially if not consistently used). This has been a Great experience (aside from my cat being sick) and I would certainly recommend this vet hospital to anyone looking for quality medical care!!!!

Went here years ago, and loved it. Brought my new puppies in last month and still love it. I called yesterday, I was worried and upset about one of the puppies. The girl on the phone asked me questions and gave me good info. 🤗 Will be seeing them again for check ups.

I had a sick pup with a UTI. I walked in around 9 AM, they checked us in, we waited for about 45 minutes and saw a wonderful vet tech and veterinarian. They tested her urine, got the results, gave us an antibiotic and we were out the door. Great staff, clean areas, and very knowledgeable. Also, reasonably priced for a walk in visit. Highly recommend!

Love this vet office. Everyone is so sweet, caring and wonderful. But I have to say Tammy is incredibly!! She is always there for me, it doesn't matter if it's an appointment for my dog or if I call the last minute with an emergency for my cat's. Or maybe I have to stop by to pick up meds. She is just absolutely wonderful. When I needed a hug she was there. She is always there!!! I will never take my babies any where else. Love this place

It was my first time going here to get my puppy his second set of shots and as soon as we walked in the door they greeted us and told us the staff was waiting. The whole staff was very friendly with smiles and they’re compassionate about their job! They explained everything in a timely and professional manner. Family friendly place and I would recommend this place to anyone who is looking for a great vet!

Was not happy with my visit. The help seemed very judgmental that I wanted to get my puppies vaccines done else where more affordable and was just there because of a separate concern (worms). The doctor seemed to be rushing, would turn her back to leave when I would ask her a question. Didn't explain to me what my puppy had. Gave me a $200 bill and made me wait an hour for the meds. I was a vet tech.. It doesn't take an hour to make up two liquid medications. After the visit seems like my puppy has gotten worse, taking her somewhere else. Would not recommend.

Best place in Jacksonville, Nc, if you want a place that treats your pet as family this place is it and they always make sure that answer all your questions and more to make sure you know your in good hands! We have 2 Boston terriers and 1 English bulldog this is only place I trust because I know they are in good hands. They treated my Boston terriers for mites and also help in getting ready for our overseas package for our dogs!

Had to take my baby girl, Skye to vet this morning, after a night of upset stomach and stool. Thank God it was nothing serious, but since she is 13, I had to make sure. While waiting for the vet, Skye had accidents in the room and on my jeans. A BIG THANK YOU goes out to Sherri Jim SIdes for her comforting words, going with me and helping clean not only the room, but my jeans. You're truly a very special person and great best friend.Thank you to Dr. Thomas and her staff at College View Veterinary in Jacksonville, NC for giving Skye such wonderful treatment. Skye is resting at home comfortably now in her bed.A week has passed by and Skye is still taking her prescription, but no longer on special diet. She is feeling 100% better. I would highly recommend.

My furbaby loves the vet and especially Tammy. He is a 17 yo grumpy (sometimes) old man but when he comes for his check ups he loves them! I have been going to College View since 2005 and would never trust anyone else! Very compassionate and loving!
