Lots of great casual and sports clothes. They have their own brands as well as the well-known ones, and the prices are reasonably cheaper than other big box stores. Checkout was speedy.

I came here to find a basket for a girls bicycle. After walking around for a bit I realized how much they increased their inventory. Anything you'd need from sports, hunting, outdoor activities or casual/outdoor clothing is available. I will be shopping here more often. I only didn't give it 5 stars because the price of free weights are ridiculous, and they don't offer military discount.

For the firearm section and workers:They are wonderful and very helpful. Knowledgeable to help you pick your poison and to educate you. 10/10 recommend. As well as their gun prices are good.

I dont shop at Academy very often so this was a pleasant trip. Found everything I needed to get my son started in baseball and it was all conveniently located together for the most part. My biggest complaints are a very small selection of baseball cleats, especially when compared to the other sports; it was difficult to find a cup for him and the selection in sizes was even more disappointing than the selection for baseball cleats. There also were limited staff so it was hard to ask questions as it was difficult to track anyone down, but I attribute that to the fact I went there at 6 PM instead of during the day. They were running a discount and it was easy to verify getting it and the customer service and prices were really good. Overall a good trip and I will definitely be coming back.

Found my 4 items and went to check out. There were three people in line,the one at the register had a box of ammo, the lady behind him had three, the main in front of me also had a box of ammo, I had four items and it took me TWENTY minutes to check out. The manager was behind a counter and I told him that he needed to open a register and he looked at me like I had just peed in his cornflakes, but never opened a register . Won't be going back, I'll order on line.

The first thing I saw when entering Academy yesterday was a nasty cart area. You would think with everything going on right now that someone would clean the things that everyone touches. Although, being dirty doesn’t bother me as much as knowing that an employee knowingly gathered these from the parking lot and put them back in that condition. It provides evidence to support the possibility of a lack of leadership (values) at this location. Who knows, maybe just a bad day.I went there looking for two items. Neither were stocked, although they carry the item in Academy’s inventory.Again, maybe just a bad day on a Friday afternoon.I hope next visit is a better day. I really want to like academy.

Horrible customer checkouts. Everytime you go in there they only have 1 checkout running with a line of people waiting. You can plan to be in line there 10 minutes or more. No call for open a register up. Horrible!!!!!

This is a really specific store, with a really reliable stock. Last summer I remembered the plastic pools they had, so this summer I was able to go in and get one. Except that they were over by the fishing equipment which was weird because all the rest of the pools were at the back of the store. And then I had some issues at the checkout counter, because I paid with a split payment, and something happened so it had to be refunded and then redone. I don't know I don't really come to this store very often, but it's a pretty okay store. This is definitely where I would go to get guns and ammo though.

Best prices for most sporting event items including ammunition in eastern North Carolina. Ammo selection is somewhat limited but certainly sufficient for most requirements. Also after buying a bicycle I would like to add that whoever assembles their bicycles does know what she or he is doing. I was worried initially but my bike was well assembled. I go here for a number of things and will continue to do so. Very pleased and prices are the highlight.

The biggest problem with this store is that the checkout process takes forever. Long lines!! If it wasn't for the long checkout lines, this would be my go-to place for all sporting goods. Cheers 😎

Inventory and selection was good in most areas, weak in saltwater lures (during a peak fishing season: fall). Shooting and firearm department is weak, but atleast they have one.

Great Prices!! They have a great selection and we like the Academy Sports brand. It's nice to have a sports store in town that can cater to low and high end shoppers. We recently purchased a pair of track shoes. No other store in Jacksonville sells them.

It was so hard for me to pick out what I wanted to get because everything that I saw I wanted to get LOL but finally I saw a pair of leggings that my boyfriend had previously got me last year that I absolutely love they were Gray and white just like the red and black ones I have posted they fit me perfectly, so small with a great side fitting bra that I absolutely love, I spent about $45 total and I absolutely love my purchase so happy I stopped in here I will definitely be getting more in the future to add to my workout collection!

Attempted return of gift without receipt (yep I misplaced it); gift had tags; value $19.99, customer service offered $5.00 refund for gift (my definition of theft in plain sight); Found electronic receipt, reattempted return; customer service representative presented rudeness; inability to handle return without manager and another employee intervening (Manager and other employee were polite and had grasp of the process).I did receive a full refund. The take-away, employees should learn manners (guess that’s not taught on social media); thank you to the Manager; and, most importantly, Academy has a horrible return policy for honest customers. I have spent $thousands in this store for personal use and my business; however, I will find a more pleasant shopping experience somewhere else. We DO get to vote with our money and my vote is not for ACADEMY in Jacksonville, NC!

Academy had some really great Christmas sales. The store was neat and clean. Asked about socks and was pointed in the right direction. The cashier checked each pair of shoes to make sure I had the correct sizes. Overall an easy shopping experience.
