Asked for a heartworm medication and was told I had to have a prescription. Obtained a prescription and presented it and was told you do not sell heartworm meds. Brought my dog in for a bath (which was adequate and grossly overpriced). I presented a history of vaccinations as requested and your staff could not interpret it which caused unnecessary delay. After the dog's bath I requested a low ph shampoo. I received a vague and uninformative response. Overall, I believe i can fair much better with another pet care provider.

Scheduled a grooming appt for my dog online, answered all of the pre-check-in questions and was told that I would be reached out to for further information if they felt there were any questions about my dogs health.No one reached out so we continued onto our scheduled appointment time and was turned away due to certain health concerns that no longer affect our pup.We rearranged our entire day to make this appointment, the same questions they asked at check in is what I answered on the online pre-check form so why did they not reach out like they stated they would? If they had concerns, they should have held up their end by reaching out as I could have had the vet send an "all ok" note but they waited until we arrived, wasting our gas and time and waiting until the vets office was closed for the day so that I could not get my note.My pup has only had their nails trimmed here so they have seen her before with no questions or concerns.Bad business practice and will not be back as I don't have the time or money to waste and the only reason I was scheduling a wash was because I have been swamped and couldn't wash her myself.While I understand you looking out for the pats health, reach out if you have concerns like you said you would but did not.

We come to PetCo Huntersville for one reason--Alana and the grooming staff! Alana is my dog's stylist and she's awesome!!! My dog likes her and she just has a way that makes our dog feel safe and happy. Alana is able to trim her nails without any problem. (our dog can put up a fuss over nail trimmings.) Every time I pick her up, she is happy and smells wonderful.

I had the appointment scheduled for almost two weeks. My normal groomer was sick. The groomer who came to check me in was extremely short with me. When I didn't answer right away about how long I wanted my pet's hair she asked me if I wanted to reschedule. I said no and she showed me a board with lengths. The board was helpful. I picked half an inch. She also said she would have to shave half of my dogs tale because it was matted. I insisted it was not matted and used a fine tooth brush to show her it was not matted. I told her I didn't mind it short at base of tale (near butt) but wanted the rest fluffy. When I pickup up my dog he was cut to a quarter of inch all over. His tale was pretty much shaved except the very end. While he looked good, his cut was a little too short for his breed (Cavapoo) and not at all what I requested. He was pretty much shaved all over. Also there were many additional charges for shampoo and materials which drove the price from $58 to $92. I normally pay between $65 - $75. Now I have to wait for my dogs hair to grow out and get someone who know what they are doing to repair the damage. Last time the groomer at Petco was great. After this experience I wont be back and would not recommend anyone that cares about their dog to take them elsewhere. I should have complained at the time and refused to pay but I was in shock! The groomer needs serious training in treated customers properly, listening to their customers wants, and also how to properly groom dogs! Worst experience ever!! I wont be back.

Drop off was easy and so was pick up. He was clean and smelled good when I picked him up. However, I was told that my dog was anxious while in the kennel. I was disappointed to see that when we got home one of his toenails was bleeding because the groomer cut it too short. (maybe that's why he was anxious?) They should have told me that they cut it too short, there was dried blood in his fur and around the nail. Later that afternoon it started bleeding after a walk. Disappointed at the price for the service received.

We bring our dog Gracie for baths at Petco and everyone there takes good care of her. Laurie is our stylist and she is so sweet to Gracie! She will do her best to fit us into her schedule too if needed.

Laurie Ricardo at the Huntersville, NC location always does an amazing job! She is so sweet with my elderly poodle, especially as other groomers throughout my dogs' life have labeled her "difficult" or hard to groom. Not Laurie, she must have a way with Layla! I have recommended her to friends in the area!

Impressed with how well they did my Chloe’s nails . She has some nails that give her problems because they sit on top of the pad so it is important to keep those short. The girl who did her nails clearly knew what she was doing.

Tucker was very anxious but the young lady who checked us in and Amber were very calming and helpful. Tuckers grooming was 100% what we asked for! He looked great..We will be coming back.

Cody and Bre did an amazing job in our babies. They were able to squeeze us in on a Sunday and our pups are so happy and so are we. Always the best!!!

Laila was very knowledgeable and so sweet with my dog. I got there early and watched as she was finishing up. She didn't know I was there and she was wonderful with my Ellie, giving her lots of love while she was trimming the fur around her paws. I will definitely ask for her every time I have my dog groomed!

Turned me away for a simple nail trim for my dog because I need a “doctors note” for something over a year ago & that has NEVER been an issue when going to the other Petco across town. I was literally at another Petco less than a month ago. NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN!!! Poor customer service.If it was that big an issue my Vet would’ve told me or given me a note over a year ago. But they didn’t because they told me it was nothing to worry about. NEVER coming to this petco again!! This has not been my first issue with them. Last time I was there to pick up my dog I was ignored for a good 10mins while they helped others and talked among themselves before assisting me.My dog has been going to petco for the 5years that I’ve had her since she was born. She will no longer be going to a Petco unless it’s the one in the Arboretum shopping center which I unfortunately no longer live near.

It was a little weird waiting for the store to open as the hours were posted 10am -6pm. My appointment was a 9:30 so I was a little confused. Better communication would have been great. The groomers were awesome and my dog looks great. Thank you for a job well done.

I have been taking Layla there for a while to file her nails down with no problems. This woman had her choker leash too tight and her legs bent at weird angles and she was hollering the whole time. I made a comment to the gentleman up front and he just disregarded me. Horrible experience.

Probably the best experience I have had with Petco grooming. Cody checks out each dog before he trimmed nail and buffed. He seemed a natural with my 3 dogs.

Our Simba is a 15 year old Shih Tzu with physical problems due to a healed broken back. He is a rescue and was abused by his previous owner. Stacy is so patient and understanding with him. Her recommendations for his cut and what she does for him is spot on. She also informed us of a possible problem with his ears. We were told he was deaf but in reality his ears were impacted. A visit to our vet has corrected the problem. We wouldn't trust him with anyone else.

I have a unsocialized 8 month min pin. Laila at Petco in Huntersville was very good with her. She just needed nail trim. Tia trusted her very well. Will request Laila in future.

After I postponed a work commitment to make time for our grooming appointment, our appointment was canceled via text message 2 hours before its time. We did not receive the courtesy of a call to cancel nor to reschedule. Very unprofessional.
