I can only speak on the restaurant, I can't speak on the rooms due to the fact that I never stayed there. My husband and I had lunch at the Iron Horse yesterday, and I have a few thoughts.The Spinach Dip is not worth it. It comes served in a tiny bowl, with cold pita bread. If the presentation was different, I would recommend it. If it were served in a small cast iron skillet, and the cheese was melted and the pita was warm... I would recommend it!The main entrees were DELCIOUS! The sides.. not so much. My husband got the BBQ burger, and WOW! What a great sandwich. It was over cooked, but the bbq sauce was out of this world!I got the trout, and the seasoning was fantastic! The sides were all terrible. We didn't eat them. We felt like this meal could have been a lot better if the kitchen stepped it up a bit. The fries were over cooked, the greens were too vinegary (if that's a word) and just get rid of the cole slaw. It was rancid.Other than that, it was good. Great service, cute spot, and again... I can't speak on the rooms, but seems like a great place to stay.

Not a hotel patron. Myself and 2 friends took my lady there for her birthday dinner. It was very good, but closes relatively early this time of year or we'd have gone earlier. All in all it was good.Food & drinks: Didn't stay there...we're locals who went to the restaurant.

This was the best experience I've had since I don't know when. We ate downstairs at the restaurant and the food was delicious. Sweet waitress. And we stayed at the inn upstairs. Rich in history and style and super clean. Highly recommendedRooms: Working transoms over the doors, really cool

We LOOOVVVEEE Iron Horse!!! We were just there for Monday thru Thursday and forgot they were closed!! We knew the winter hours were different and should've went on Monday but wanted to go Tuesday and we screwed up. Still got to eat in town but wanted this so bad. We live and hour n half away so we will be driving over one weekend soon!!! We love and missed seeing you iron horse!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Buffalo chicken sammich was awesome. Great servers. Love thw local beer selection. Order your burger rare if you want it medium. Fried green tomatoes are perfect except they serve it with honey must.

Heard good things so decided to go check it out… the restaurant was just okay, they ran out of the weekend Alfredo pasta around 7:30. That was literally the reason we came. Some very disappointed to say the least. Service was also okay. Idk the servers name the never introduced themselves.Food & drinks: Meh.

Was recommended to stop in and eat here before our soak in the mineral hot tubs. The service was great. The atmosphere was nice. Not to busy. We started with the spring rolls. So good. Dip is spicier than I thought it would be but it was good. My partner ordered the ribeye and sides and really enjoyed it. I ordered the grilled chicken and sides and it was sub-par. Not really any flavor besides a grilled/seared chicken breast. Would of been really good with some type of marinade or maybe even topped off with some kind of pineapple or mango salsa or something. If we ever go back I’ll order the chicken Alfredo. I saw it being served and looked amazing!!!

Our stay at the Iron Horse Station was great! It is a family-run business & they go above & beyond to ensure you have a positive experience. The first night was at the inn and the 2nd night was in their wagons...so fun & a totally different experience! The food at the restaurant was very good and I would strongly recommend anyone passing through Hot Springs, NC to stop and eat there...wonderful!

This restaurant is pretty and rustic. The server wasn't too friendly to be honest. That's okay. But my husband's salmon was tasteless. They didn't clean the grill before putting it on so it tasted more like the steak I ordered. Other than that the rest of the food was really great. I would recommend the ribeye. And I would NOT recommend the salmon.

Looked for somewhere for my birthday dinner not too far from my kids in Del Rio, TN. It was about a half hour drive and the menu looked interesting. Food was delicious. I had the rainbow trout blackened, others at the table had theirs fried and grilled with lemon pepper marinade, also fried catfish and a strip steak. We also had fried green tomatoes. Everyone thought the food was very good. Nice selection of craft beer (some local). Would definitely come back. Ony negative was no daily specials.

We visited the restaurant and had a great time. The food was excellent and the service was great. We went on a Saturday afternoon around 2:30 and there are not many dining options in Hot Springs that are open at that time. I was afraid that they would be crowded and that we wouldn't be able to get a table but we were immediately able to sit down.

For a dog friendly town, this restaurant is not. The service is good. The food is hit or miss. The mashed potatoes and artichoke dip are excellent. The trout is flavorless. I had it lightly floured and fried and my husband had the cornmeal batter and fried. No flavor. Our friends had the penne and alfredo sauce and loved it. The have wine, beer and ciders. No full bar.

Best Ribeye I have had in a long time, even better than some steak specialty houses such as Ruth Kriss. Thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and service. They were more than welcoming despite our arrival being only 40 minutes before close. Food arrived in a timely manner and they even provided complimentary tasting of their cider before we committed to the drink. Overall one of the best restaurant experiences I’ve had in a while. Bravo to the staff, and especially the chef. Makes me wonder if the hotel portion lives up to the standards set by the restaurant!

We have eaten here numerous times! It is certainly a hidden gem! Must try apps are spring rolls and the fried green tomatoes!!!! Last night I had the grilled trout and lemon pepper seasoning and it was the best I have ever eaten! My husband had the rib eye. If you are stopping in town or traveling through it’s a must do!

Oh my goodness!!!!! If you do anything.. GO HUNGRY!!!! The portions are crazy huge and the food is amazing!! I got the catfish, mac n cheese and a side salad. My fiance got the fried chicken, fries and pasta salad. Ya'll like it is the best food, soo flavorful, great atmosphere and wait staff were fantastic. We were so full we had to take our desserts to go i got the mixed berry cobler with ice cream and my fiance got the peanut butter pie. Again... holy macaroni!!! Delicious!!!! I can't wait to go back here.

This place is the BEST! We were in the area for a soak in the hot springs and decided to stop in Iron Horse Station to look at the rooms for a future visit. The guy that helped us was the chef who just happened to be on his break upstairs, but still didn't hesitate to help us! I wish I had gotten his name because he was so helpful! He was taller with glasses and has lived in the area his whole life. He gave us some good ideas on visiting the Stackhouse locally. The accommodations looked beautiful, updated and clean....we can't wait to stay! We came back for lunch after our hot springs experience (which was amazing) and that was ALSO amazing! Our server ZARA was one of the BEST servers we've ever had. She was super sweet, knowledgeable, happy and made our experience perfect. The catfish that she suggested was the best my husband and myself have ever had. so was the potato salad and fries! I had the spring rolls (loved the sauces also) and a delicious Royal Peach Cider on tap. She even let me try some muscadine wine that I had inquired about, so hats off to the bartender as well! He was also a fantastic singer and loved singing to every song that came on, I was too! Wonderful playlist whoever picked that out! Everyone just seemed so happy to be there, ya'll seem to have a great team! I can't wait to go back to experience all of this again! Everyone was amazing.
