Overall our family enjoyed our stay at Creek Ridge. Pros: The staff at check-in was very friendly and helpful. It was a nice hike down to the site. The campsite it self was well maintained and spacious. Our family really enjoyed relaxing in the creek on a hot summer's day. Cons: The campsite is fairly close to the main road and it can be seen and heard, we were awoken multiple times throughout the night by drivers honking their horn as they were driving by. That is the only reason why I would give Creek Ridge 4 out of 5 stars.

My husband, the puppy, and I camped here in October 2018 and it was amazing! The owners were very kind, accommodating, and informative. We had accidentally booked a hammock site and they kindly moved us to the best site for our tent. We've camped many places from the east to west, and this was one of our favorites ever! It's a very unique campground nestled in beautiful scenery. We plan to come back with some family and friends as soon as we can:)

Awesome hand built cabins and super cool river front campsite. Everything is custom built and has a really cool feel to it. The family was super nice and accommodating. All around a very neat place- we had checked out a few other nearby spots and were underwhelmed. Then we drove up the road to this place and everything was exactly what we were looking for- unique sites and nice people. We ended up staying in one of the cabins. Highly recommended. The river front campsites also looked amazing. If you're going to stay in hot springs I wouldn't stay anywhere else.

Owners/staff are as friendly as it gets. Had a great stay at one of the tent sites. The facilities are in great shape and are spotless. The water is HOT which was much appreciated. Note to motorcycle riders: I had minimal issue getting up the hill to the parking lot in my V-Strom, but cruisers and other dirt road unfriendly bikes, or riders who are inexperienced climbing steep gravel hills should probably get off at the base of the hill and walk it first to get your approach figured out. I really enjoyed my stay and will be back next time I'm in the area.

Nestled on a mountainside near Hot Springs NC, this excellent campground feels integrated with its beautiful natural surroundings. The sites are all unique - various elevations, sizes views, layouts...some are “pads”, flat areas with a fire pit, but there are also sites with a roofed area, attractive cabins, and sites with a tent-like waterproof structure and comfortable furniture (including a bed) inside. No two sites are the same - which is much more interesting and inviting than a typical campground. Approximately 8 sites are riverfront - which is where I hope to stay next time we visit. And there WILL be a next time. There are bathrooms, showers, and a camp store - all well equipped and clean. The owner was very attentive and friendly, and a great source of info about the town of Hot Springs. If you like being close to nature, hiking, exploration, yet still being close to shops and restaurants, you will have a wonderful, memorable experience here.

We stayed here Friday and Saturday night in one of the tent pad sites, site #5. The staff was friendly and helpful. There was a short, steep walk down to the site from our parking at the camp store but we were able to haul quite a bit of gear to the site easily with the wagon provided by the campground. We loved our tent site, it appeared to be the most private of the tent pad sites and easily able to accommodate our 13' X 9' screen shelter that we place over our 3 person tent. The site had a nice fire ring and a wooden picnic table. The gravel road access to reach the campground is steep for a short distance and may not be easily accessible by some sedans. During our stay we did hike down to the creek-side sites and it was steep. If we ever choose to stay at one of those sites in the future, we would take our backpacking gear. We loved tent pad site 5 because it was a very secluded site yet still close to the parking and bathroom and the campground is conveniently located right at the edge of the town. The negative is there are only two bathrooms and only one has a shower located behind the camp store. The site for the price was worth it to be in such a beautiful and serene location right in Hot Springs. We will definitely come back!

We loved staying at this campsite. All the reviews are correct, it's quite a hike to the creek side campsites, but well worth it. It's a camping experience like no other. Just pack as light as possible because you have to carry all your belongings down the trail. You can see other campsites, but they are still very private. The sounds of the creek lulled us to sleep every night. While there were only two showers/toilets, we never encountered a line to use them and they were always clean. The camp store has many items that you may have forgotten, just in case, as well as ice, fire wood and other essentials. We stayed in Beaver Cut and it was perfect! Great little spot to start a campfire and enjoy the outdoors.

Our family visited Hot Springs recently, and Creek Ridge Camping was recommended by a friend. We loved this place! The location is just far enough out of town so you feel like you're in another world, but close enough so everything you want is a quick drive. There are a lot of really nice walks and hikes nearby, and the peaceful setting makes for a very relaxing time. We will be back, and we will recommend this campground to our friends.

We stopped here for one night on a road trip down from New York. We originally booked a riverside campsite but after numerous days of hiking and camping the rustic cabin was way too nice to pass up so we changed our reservation. Julie was so accommodating and helpful and the rustic cabin was awesome. The grounds are beautiful, and the proximity to Hot Springs is extremely convenient. We had lovely stay!

My husband took me here for a birthday getaway. We loved it! The people who work there are so welcoming and friendly! They have some awesome choices to book. We camped at the creek down the spirit trail and it is beautiful down there. We will definitely come back!

I was nervous about some of the bad reviews, but it seems like they were just submitted by people better suited for cruises, not camping. It is a campground, not the Ritz. My husband and I stayed here for two nights at a tailgate campsite. Our site was a little noisy, but I didn't realize that I booked one right by the main entrance so it is my fault. The bath house and showers seemed new and were very clean, and I never had to wait to use any of the facilities. The camp host was friendly and helpful and added to the fun and relaxed atmosphere of the place. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

We rented the Chalet and loved it. I will definitely come again. Tip if your going to be cooking on the grill the dishes provided are for eating not cooking come prepared. We did except a can opener. It's a perfect spot. Very happy and impressed. Jason the camp host is very service oriented and helpful. I just love the chalet. You will want a radio for music if you don't want complete quiet. Morning view off the deck was awesome. We did walk down to the creek campsite....wow for those up for an adventure and a little or a lot of work to get your stuff down there. It would be an awesome camping experience but it's a haul on your back...lol. I liked my glamping option.

My son and I visited Creek Ridge several months ago and had a wonderful experience. He still talks about this camping trip compared to all of the others we have taken, and there have been many. The hike to the creek is steep so be prepared. Once you reach your site, you will love the tranquility of the river. We will be back again and again. Actually, we are going back in a few weeks.

Had a great time camping at Creek Ridge this past weekend. Its definitely a nice change of pace from the jam packed Hot Springs Campground in town. If you're camping by the river...DO NOT underestimate the 1,000 foot hike down to the sites. Make sure you pack accordingly. If you bring too much and youre not in decent shape be prepared to be exhausted. Also, once you're down there (this is no fault of the campground) a road runs right across the creek from the sites and both nights we had locals in their trucks screaming at us and throwing empty cans our way in a drunken stupor...kinda lame considering the effort it takes to get all your gear down there to have to put up with that. Like I said though, that's not the campgrounds fault at all. The staff were all incredibly kind and I would for sure come back to camp again at Creek Ridge. A 4 wheel drive is def preferred as the road is not paved at the top and in rain could cause some real problems for sedans or any 2 wheel drive vehicles. The new owners are really making an effort to carve a niche for themselves in the hot springs community and they wholeheartedly deserve the support of the public.

Been back to this place a few times. We stay at the creek side sites. Sure it's a steep walk down but adds to the experience, my 3 year old could do it. Just don't plan on bringing a ton of stuff. Think more backpacking less car camping if you stay at the primitive sites. They updated the showers and bathroom and they are great. The creek is fun to play in as well.

I cannot say enough good things about the campsite or its owners. The entire experience was magical. Creek Ridge Camping is a place unlike any other- the accommodations are wonderful and the facility is meticulously maintained. Each campsite has its own personality- it is obvious that the various shelters were built with creativity, love and extreme attention to detail. The views are unparalleled. I will definitely be back very soon- this is NC's best kept secret!

Not only are the campsites ridiculously small and difficult to maneuver through, there is absolutely no privacy. We were driving through the area and made reservations less than 24 hours before arriving not knowing that the entire campground is on the side of a mountain. Once there, my daughter was having major anxiety attacks due to the narrow roads and paths so we had to leave.....and we were NOT able to get a refund! We were there less than 10 minutes! The most inconsiderate person ever said "Ya, I used to get them too, but you'll be alright" Seriously?!? My daughter was suffering so bad, that we had to walk back down to the main road because she couldn't get back in the car to drive down the narrow roads. All and all very poor description of the facilities and uncaring management. More like a -5 review for us.

I could never recommend this "campground"... Pros: Nice people Cons: Terrible driveway that climbs a steep badly maintained dirt road. Few camping spots that are not well maintained and super hard to get to. The guy at checkin said you need a tight turning radius to make it to site 5 and 6? 35.00 per night for no baths realistically close to sites. I moved on the very average Hot Springs Campgrounds for the night.

This is a hidden gem in the Hot Springs area. There are creekside hike-in camp sites down the hill and drive up sites at the top. All the sites are excellent and semi-private (unlike most other private campgrounds we've stayed at). It was a quiet and relaxing spot a stone's throw from Hot Springs and the staff was extremely helpful and accommodating. If camping isn't your thing they also have treetop cabins. We will definitely be back here again...and again...

The owners at Creek Ridge are very kind and accommodating. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained. We really enjoyed our stay at the Rustic Cabin and plan on returning to stay at one of the tent sites.

We originally we going to stay down by the creek, it was beautiful, but be prepared to hike. We were celebrating and upgraded to glamping. It was amazing!!! We never have been glamping, and it was a treat!!! The people who run this place are so kind! They really made this trip 100 times better! Highly recommend this place!!

We have stayed here a few times over the years and absolutely love it!!! They have done so much to the campground in the last year by updating their camp store and bathhouse and by adding GLAMPING SITES!! It’s like staying in a hotel but you walk out your door into the woods! You just need the pack your food and they have a box full of your cooking essentials ready to go along with park style charcoal grills at the Glamping sites! The owners are so welcoming and friendly! They were very helpful with suggesting local trails and waterfalls! The hike down the spirit trail to the creekside shelters is a little rocky but pack as if you are backpacking! It’s nice to have some privacy and access to spring creek and not be right on top your neighbor like most campgrounds!I would highly recommend this campground to anyone as they are always growing and expanding with new site options!! We will definitely be back to check out their other Glamping sites which are on Airbnb!!

We stayed at the Boho Glamping tent to celebrate my daughters birthday. We live in Hot Springs so it was a fun but close to home get away. We went swimming in the creek and cooked out over the fire. Julie and her staff made sure we had everything we needed to make this a memory my daughter will never forget! All we had to bring was our food. EVERYTHING else from pillows and blankets, everything for cooking and to wash the dishes, and even towels and toiletry products were included! Thanks guys! If anyone is looking for a fun or romantic getaway I highly recommend Creek Ridge.

Camped for an overnight stay at one of the tent sites along the river. Perfect location, near a cool little town, Hot Springs. Definitely a great place to practice camping while not being too far from your car. Great, down to earth people running the place too!

First off, the website/pictures are really misleading about the privacy and size of the campsites. Ours said it fit 5 people... we could barely fit our two, two-person tents. Additionally, you can see every other campsite from your tent. AND the cute stream next to the campsites that is featured in all the website photos is directly next to a road. Secondly, this place should be reported to the health department because they have ZERO toilets at the camp ground. You have to walk up a mountain, about 10 minutes of huffing, to reach 2 toilets that service the entire campground. People were clambering around looking for a bush or tree to take a dump behind but remember, the layout of the campground is not private at all so everyone could see you. And people driving down the road could as well. Finally, this all was made worse by the attitude of the horrible woman who ran the grounds. She was condescending, passive aggressive, and dismissive of our problems/complains. Kept saying about how it was listed in the contract or on the website blah blah blah. I work in travel planning for a living, I know how to read a website carefully. And I called them twice in advanced to ask detailed questions about the site. Hot springs is an awesome cute town but don't waste your money at this place. Go to the big camp site and make some friends.

We drove all the way to lake douglas trying to find somewhere to camp on the water, and were greeted with "booked up." or just sites on top of each other with no privacy of any kind. We made our way back toward hotsprings and creekridge came up on our GPS. It sounded like what we were after. We arrived and met the owner and chose a site with a hike down to the river. We stayed at Tiki Hut just over the cascades and had peaceful "music" all night long that helped lull our 2 year old to sleep. This place has so many options- cabins, tailgate camping, or tent camping with a hike to your spot! The bathrooms were clean too!!! Owner was nice and professional! Spaced out spots, privacy. Our toddler loved playing in the water and hiking. We will definitely be back! So glad we finally found what we were looking for!!!

Beautiful campground and nice owners. We showed up after the season closed but they were able to accommodate us and we had the place all to ourselves. Very quiet and relaxing but still conveniently located to town.

Customer service with this campground is a joke.In the Fall of 2016, the majority of WNC and the south east were suffering from devastating wildfires. We had reservations, and were going to visit many places in WNC, but decided to cancel due to our health concerns and air quality due to the fires. We were having difficulty being outside with the air quality in TN, so I knew it would be worse in the mountains where the fires actually were. Every where else we had reservations with totally understood, canceled, and refunded our money. Creek Ridge Camping would not refund, but gave us a 6 month credit. Fine. No worries. A few weeks later we had to drive through Hot Springs for Thanksgiving travels, and we could barely breathe just driving through in the car!A few months later, we scheduled a visit in the Spring of 2017 to use the credit, plus 1 more night to be paid once we arrive. Only a few days before we were ready to go, we get an e-mail from the campsite that they didn't have working bathrooms, only a Port-A-Potty, and no shower house. I'm not looking for luxury, but for $60/night to stay in a plywood box "cabin" and then have to share a port-a-potty with the campground? No thanks. The e-mail said "If you wish you cancel, we understand". So, we did. However, the e-mail we get in response to the cancelation, where I asked if we could get another extension on our original credit, to use when they have working bathrooms, or a refund from the original credit, was so rude that we refuse to visit this camp ground.Julie responded back that they will cancel the additional day, but will not extend or refund our credit from the Fall. She stated, "It was our courtesy to give your that in the first place when we didn't have to. You canceled because you wanted a fire and there was a fire ban." SO untrue, and so much unneeded attitude. We canceled because there were air quality and health concerns because of the wild fires.... NOT because we were some spoiled brats wanting a fire during a fire ban.Hot Springs is so small, they have a monopoly on the camping/tourism of the area. That doesn't make it ok to take advantage of people--- or to be so rude to people trying to stay there. I was happy to still try to make a visit, and don't feel like it was unreasonable to request an extended credit considering the circumstances for reach cancelation.Rude people don't go far in my books. Save your money and go somewhere else. Unfortunately, they got away with stealing $60 of mine.

We needed a site on short notice. Julie helped us find a spot that best met our needs, and she and the other staff were especially sweet to our 5-year-old. It was quiet and pleasant, and we'd definitely stay there again.
