We recently relocated from Upstate NY to the Hillsborough area and have been looking to establish our ‘fur crew’ with a practice that is local. Ironically, over the last 4.5 weeks, several of our colleagues and new neighbors highly recommended HP’s and now we know why. The care truly is phenomenal and everyone is so pleasant. And added ‘Bonus Points’: The office was very clean and the various artwork throughout is just perfect! We were in the office yesterday w/ both of our dogs (our 2.5 year old male yellow lab named ‘DUKE’ and his 4 month old little sister who is a Golden Doodle named Maple-Mae! Our appointment went very well; we saw Dr Kat for both dogs’ appointments (which was great because I love the idea of trying to keep the same provider for routine visits just for ‘continuity of care’. I was so impressed that Dr Kat started the visit by taking the first few minutes of the appointment time to not only introduce herself to me, but she then literally got on the floor and she played with both pups for a bit before doing their full assessments and required vaccines etc. I think her ‘method’ clearly worked well as both dogs seemed to trust her and Duke didn’t display any s/s of being anxious or anything which was great to see! After she took time to play with both pups, we discussed our goals of care and she also answered some questions for me. Needless to say, we absolutely loved our initial visit to Healing Paws and we will definitely be returning! Thanks again for everything! You truly have established such a wonderful practice that is ‘the full package deal’ and a ‘one stop shop’ which will work perfectly with our hectic schedules. Thanks again for treating our babies as if they are/were your own.

I have not had the best experience with Healing Paws Veterinary Hospital. The communication isn’t good and the prices seem to be high. My last bad experience was when I tried to have my dog’s teeth cleaned. I took my 3 year old poodle to Healing Paws at the end of December for her yearly check up. I was told that she would need to get her teeth cleaned. I called the first week of January to schedule this. When I called, the receptionist told me that she doesn’t schedule these types of appointments and someone from the OR team would call me back. She said it may take up to 2 weeks for them to call me because they were backed up. After 3 weeks went by and I hadn’t heard from them, I called them back. They told me that they didn’t have any record of me calling. They finally got that straight and got me scheduled to come in for the cleaning. On the day of the procedure, I took my dog in, signed some papers and headed to work. About 30 minutes later, I got a call from Healing Paws to let me know that they couldn’t do my dog’s procedure because one of their OR techs called out. I totally understand that other surgeries were more important than a routine dental cleaning, but it was still a big inconvenience for me and my dog. I had to rearrange my work schedule which is nearly impossible and go into work late and leave early to pick her up before they closed. They told me they wouldn’t charge me to keep her for the day since I couldn’t come pick her back up (Gee, thanks!🤣) And they also told me they would offer a slight discount of 20% off of the dental cleaning portion of the procedure. The dental portion of the procedure is $98, so 20 % of $98 is $18. I was quoted close to $1000 for her procedure so offering me an $18 discount is insulting. I haven’t been impressed with Healing Paws since taking my then puppy there 3 years ago. I only stayed because it was close to my house and luckily my dogs are young and healthy so they don’t have to go to the vet very often. This last incident was the icing on the cake. I will take my $1000 and go elsewhere to a vet that cares about their clients and not money.

Had a great experience with the folks over at Healing Paws. We truly appreciated Dr. Brewer and all the time she spent helping us understand what was going on with our sweet Maple. She was extremely communicative and thorough, and I felt confident following her advice to get our pet back to full health. We’re thankful for the Healing Paws team!

Dr McLean is amazing. Best vet we ever had!! Our dogs love her. She is so gentle and explains everything. When our puppy got pneumonia she contacted us personally to make sure he was doing better. Highly recommend!

Really great experience! My baby Prince is not a patient here at Healing Paws.. my regular vet could not get us in in a timely manner yet Healing Paws was more than happy to fit us in same day for an emergency! Dr. Brewer was excellent in diagnosing and treating my dog Prince while also taking into consideration I had 3 small children with me and giving me cost estimates along the way. We were in and out quickly but yet did not feel rushed. I’m very pleased and will definitely recommend Dr. Brewer and her staff to friends searching for a caring vet family!! Also would like to add, my baby Prince is on the mend and doing well, could not ask for more!

Staff is considerate, caring and professional. I've brought my newest rescue to this hospital and have consistently had a great experience from routine visits to elective surgery. I highly recommend you check them out.

Doctor seemed cool. Gave me his email so I can contact him about my pet. I emailed multiple times and never got a response. Then I called the office, the doctor was out until the 12/27th. The office was suppose to call me back. It’s now 1/1/2024 and they still haven’t called. Being a vet technician myself and dealing with this, it’s not good client communication. Especially when it’s a pet dealing with respiratory issues.

Healing Paws is a fantastic veterinary practice - with caring and competent Veterinarians and technicians. I have been coming for many years and have always had great experiences. There are other Vets closer to me but the extra drive time is worth it. My dog, Roxy, and I highly recommend taking your pets here.

In all the years I’ve owned pets and all the vets I’ve visited , this is top notch! So incredibly professional from the moment you walk in the door ,such a kind and caring staff. My dog Vinny recently had surgery there, I was so overwhelmed with it and they made it so easy on me , their caring surgical team were so kind with all my questions and phone calls. I thank you from the bottom of my heart the care you gave to my boy,I would definitely recommend Healing Paws to anyone 🐾💙🐾

They helped us with the end of life of our beloved 13 year old English mastiff Princess. They exercised compassion and their knowledge was very comforting to my family at a very difficult time. When we decided to get another mastiff puppy. We choose to bring Daisy there as well. Our experience there made it a no brainer.

I went here in January 2021 and I believe I saw Dr. Robin Scott for an emergency visit with my cat who has stopped eating. I had such a poor experience I still think about it, because it delayed appropriate treatment for my cat. I requested bloodwork because he wasn't eating and it seemed like she didn't want to even order the blood work, so I insisted. She seemed more concerned that my cat was overweight. There was snow that week and I got the impression they didn't want to see clients but just wanted to close. She gave my cat subcutaneous fluids and sent him home over the weekend. The next week she called back to say my cat was having kidney failure based on the blood work I had insisted on. Then she said there wasn't much that could be done. She did not offer hospitalization with IV fluid treatment, which is a typical treatment. She did not offer prescription diet. I asked for them to at least prescribe some subcutaneous fluids I could give at home, but it was at my request that was done. I called back and insisted on a kidney food prescription for my cat which she said wouldn't be that helpful against everything I had read about this. They eventually agreed and sent me the prescription. I took the cat to another vet I knew from when I was a vet tech, and she was surprised that they had under dosed the necessary subcutaneous fluid amount for the size of my cat. The other vet did hospitalization with IV fluids and she said that was a basic treatment that should have been offered. My cat has been on kidney diet for two years now and I intermittently give subcutaneous fluids to him. Healing Paws basically had no interest in offering any aggressive treatment when he was diagnosed which was the key time to do that. I asked how he could have gotten kidney injury and proposed maybe he chewed on some of my house plants and instead of her explaining the many ways a cat could get that which is very common and can sometimes be congenital she just said "I don't have house plants in my house" in an unfeeling and judgemental way exhibiting no signs of empathy for the distress I was in about my cat that I love. He is still doing ok now but I would never go back here especially after the ridiculous size of the bill for the inadequate treatment.

Until recently, I would have rated them much higher. Today I needed to get my dog in to them—she has had diarrhea that started when they prescribed new medication and today it was bloody. Too bad they could not get me in. Their telephone ‘hold’ message states how much they care about your pet— I guess that is true unless there is an emergency that very well may be a result of their actions.

I have had a positive experience with every vet and tech I have seen. They seem to genuinely enjoy my pets, and my pets act much less anxious going here than some other offices I have visited in the past.

I highly recommend. I had an urgency with my beautiful boxer and Dr.McLean was able to squeeze her in same day after my usual vet at another location refused to see my girl. Thank you so much. I appreciate them for going above & beyond.❤

The exam fee is comparable to other local facilities. The care is not. Th energy is more positive walking in the doors, the exam room larger so when getting bad news the whole family can gather & grieve in privacy. Even BEFORE seeing Dr. Hodinka & learning our dog was dying I found Michaela/Mikayla more kind/ compassionate/receptive than we ever anticipated. I think we found our new vet for ALL our care.***My new cranky old man pup is handled with love & they never make me feel less than with my animals. My cat Titan recieved surgery with Dr. Hodinka, and she was a special case. When other vets gave her a month to live she's thriving under his care nearly 4 years later!!!! I'm grateful for him.

We love Healing Paws. All the staff is super helpful & kind. They have taken great care of our dog and cat for the past 3 years. They are very patient and knowledgeable, and always take the time to answer our questions. We’ve had our dog seen by a few different vets there, all of which have been great! Thank you!

It was a sad experience. I was having my dog put down because he had an enormous tumor that he was really too old too get treatment for. The staff was fantastic. They have us a room and plenty of time to say our goodbyes. They brought Charlie some fancy dog food to calm him, then held my hand and gave hugs during and after the procedure. They even walked me out the back entrance so I wouldn't have to lik at all the happy, healthy dogs waiting in the lobby. And they made me a memorial paw print.

This is the best Vet I have ever dealt with. They have always taken good care of our dogs. When my grandma dog got an ingrown toenail. They helped out right away. They also managed to get rid of the cancer that my grandmother's dog has had for years. Every place we went quoted us a price that we could not afford. Healing Paws took care of the problem for an affordable price. I have not seen this dog so happy and all my life. It's like she's a puppy again.Thank you for always being reliable.Apple,🐾 Minnie mouse🐾🐾, and Daisy 🐾♥️

Can't recommend Healing Paws enough! Not only are the doctors and staff fantastic, but they're invested in each patient. They provide top notch care, and are very reasonably priced! My fur baby Hazel, enjoys seeing Dr. Brewer and Dr. Hodinka, but the ENTIRE staff is AMAZING! If you need to establish care for your pets, Healing Paws is the place to go ❤️

All of the staff are awesome at HPVH! We just recently moved both of our frenchies here from another vet. The providers and technicians are very professional as well as caring. Shout out to both Dr. Hodinka and Dr. Brewer. Dr. Hodinka really helped our problem child, Cash, with a chronic skin condition. He took a lot of time explaining the "ins and outs" of causes and treatments and how we could best manage Cash moving forward.Dr. Brewer made herself available for what could have been a life threatening situation for our Otis. We ended up admitting Otis to the ICU at TVRH but Dr. Brewer made it a point to call and check on us as well as follow our care during our inpatient stay. I highly recommend this group hands down!

After my first visit to Healing Paws I have to say I could not be more impressed. The facility is clean and welcoming. Staff are professional, courteous and efficient. And the attending vet was quite focused on answering our questions and giving us options rather than pushing the most expensive interventions. Wonderful!

Honestly, there are not enough words or hours in the day to convey how amazing Dr.Taylor and staff are at Wake Vet, from the time you walk in until you are able to take your fur baby home. I brought my13 week old lab with a broke leg 10 days out, (different vet said they had set it) and suffering. The compassion and kindness they showed Raven and I came directly from their hearts! In regards to Dr. Taylor, TALENTED, doesn't begin to describe how gifted Dr. Taylor is and how she wants the best outcome for each pet and their human!Awesome! Fantastic! Wonderful!Beautiful!People!Forever we will be thankful and grateful to you.Tina and Raven

My dog had a cut on her leg they charged me $787 for stitching it up and in less than a week she was good enough to have the stitches out... you tell me if that isn't an overcharge... I was in the area because I evacuated South Georgia due to the hurricane and my dog cut her leg it didn't even bleed how could it be so terrible that she needed to be put under anesthesia when she was VERY pregnant she had puppies 4 days later rather than risk the dog being pregnant why didn't they just do local anesthesia and Stitcher up everybody I showed the pictures to said oh my God they charge you that much for that. but it wasn't bad the dog didn't even limp she didn't cry she didn't bleed it was just her skin cut they tried to say her tendons were all cut and everything. If her tendons were cut she would be limping and it would have taken more than 5 days to heal I took her back to get her bandage changed two days after their quote surgery a$29 chg...follow up care not included in $787...and they said she can have her stitches out Monday that makes it like 6 days total she had stitches if it was such a severe cut she wouldn't get her stitches out in 6 days she wouldn't be perfectly normal running jumping 5 foot fences with that leg if tendons were really cut... had I not been at the mercy of other people at that time for a place to live a place to put my pregnant Injured Dog I would not have gotten that vet to do that work cuz that was excessive charge for a non severe injury her skin was cut open I thought for sure they could just super glue it that's how non-severe it looked...but they put her under anesthesia being pregnant to the point that she had her babies four days later seven puppies.I would have never suggested to put that dog under anesthesia to stitch up that leg why they couldn't do it locally and just stitch it up I don't know..claimed deep tendon cut...again dog not limping...BULL....Nice smiling people charging EXCESSIVELY...seriously dogs puke under anesthesia doesn't require week of 2 types anti stomach acid meds.,#rip off...that is just a blatant rip off...pics of HER LEG BEFORE WE TOOK HER TO THIS VET.,.DIDNT EVEN BLEED. (Talking into my phone pardon grammatical errors)

Many, many thanks for the kindness and compassion shown to our family by Dr. Hodinka and your wonderful staff, while we were dealing with the terminal illness of our beloved dog, Brody..We were not even a client of Healing Paws, but our regular vets in Mebane was closed for the weekend. Brody’s condition declined rapidly. We realized it was time to end his suffering.Your staff graciously fit Brody into their busy schedule and handled Brody’s end of life respectfully and provided unhurried time for us to grieve and say our goodbyes to our loving pet. Thanks again for being flexible in our time of need and for being sensitive to the deep sorrow we were experiencing. Healing Paws deserves a 10 star rating in compassion.

Do not take you pet to Non-Healing Paws. They charged my family $300 for nothing . Gave our Delilah some type of medication to that did not treat her itching . They also recommend put bleach on our pets paws because she was allergic to something outside. The bleach helped bring back the color her paws but did nothing to stop the itch. My daughter said they were very busy the day her and Dad went. They waited a very long time. I called and they would not check our Delilah out again without paying more money out of pocket. I’m only asking for treatment of the issues you did not treat to be looked over again. Not any new issues, I went off reviews for this vet . Be advised to look at the bad reviews to too. They could be a good place for pets , but charging over for the same unresolved issue is not .
