The staff was super helpful and very kind! An employee helped me find the perfect toy for my 18month old, a color with water book to keep in the diaper bag an he LOVES it! They were also very tolerant of my son playing with a ball in the store an squealing like toddlers do. I will definitely be back to shop again for my daughter as well!

A great little hidden treasure in Highlands. Our daughter loves little glass figures and it was the only place we've been able to find that had an abundance of these! The best part it didn't cost an arm and a leg considering where this store is located. We went back there two different and the staff is friendly and very knowledgeable. I'll be going back soon get one of those live frogs for our little boy

SUCH a cute shop!! Great for kids or adults alike. My husband, brother, and I, all over the age 25, found ourselves mesmerized by all the cute little trinkets and book nook. The shop worker was FANTASTIC and really paid attention to what we wanted and answered all of our questions. Would love to visit again! Thanks for the frogs! 🐸💚

We stopped in to this delightful shop to look for a souvenir for the kids. The owner was very friendly and helpful. There was a game out on the table to try, and she showed us how to play. Well, it was so much fun we bought it on the spot, took it back to our hotel room and played for quite some time! We are looking forward to having a family game night soon. Excellent service, thank you very much.

Really great toy store but please please please ditch the live animals! The frogs are in an extremely small tank and its really sad to see. I also don't see how selling animals in a toy store is a good idea. If people really wanted pets they would educate themselves first then go to the pet store to get proper tanks etc.

Great toy store without a doubt. But I go because of the excellent Adult Book Nook - there are always at least 3 no five books 📚I want to take home with me! And read right away!! Impressive selection for all novel lovers - consider coming here before ordering on-line. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable.

Great stop in town during our visit to the Highlands. Awesome gifts for kids and more! My wife and I even bought our own game for the cottage to play near the fire place. Staff was very friendly and accommodating even offering to wrap gifts upon purchase. If we are in town again we will be back !

I was in here with my wife over valentines weekend and the lady with blonde hair was helping us (i think her name was Anne). She showed us around and then had us play a quick board game called Genius Square. We are now hooked! I bought one for my mom the next day and the whole family loves it. We had a great experience and will definitely stop by anytime we’re in town. Makes me want to drive the hour just for another copy of the game and to support them. Thank you!

Love The Book Nook! If they don't have a book, they'll order it and notify you when it's in. They have a lot of local authors as well as national best sellers.The Toy Store is a fun place to pick up gifts or items for kids of all ages- they're very competitive in their pricing too.

We go to this toy store every year to get my son a birthday present since his birthday falls during our North Carolina trip each summer. We have never had a bad experience, only positive, until this year. I have a medical condition where I cannot wear a mask. I politely stated that as I entered the store and asked if that was ok with them for me to come in and shop - the staff member said yes. We went about our business looking at various toys for my son (my other 2 kids were with me as well) and after about 15 minutes a woman, I presume the owner, came over and very heatedly told me that they had locked the door to the store so no other people could come in while we shopped since we weren't wearing masks. I told her I didn't realize she had done that and started to make my way to the register to pay for the items I was holding. She started to become very heated and told me that I was ignorant for not wearing a mask and for not putting them on my children (who are all age 7 and under - the mask mandate requires children over 11 to wear a mask). I told her that my children were under 11 and that they are not required to wear a mask and she continued to berate me for this saying I was putting her employees at risk as well as her business. I understand that businesses may feel this way which is why I asked if they were ok with me not wearing a mask due to my condition upon entering the store. They very easily could have said no and we would not have come in. Instead, we were yelled at, called names, and treated very poorly. My 5 year old son, whose birthday we were trying to celebrate, left in tears after this aggressive accosting by the store owner. In the future, I would suggest letting their patrons know that 1.) They do not accept medical conditions as a reason for not wearing a mask, and 2.) Every patron needs to know if they are locked within a store. We had no idea. Unfortunately we will not be returning to shop at this store again.

We always enjoy stopping at this store when we come up to visit the area. This is not your everyday run of the mill toy store. It has very unique items. We always bring back a souvenir or two for our four grandchildren.
