I'll give them points for creative concept but had issues. It's similar to rolled ice cream except everything is mixed in using an auger to press the mixed ice cream into a soft serve look. It's lacking taste and flavor. While the gentleman advertised real fruit, they used frozen fruit which not only lacks flavor we are left eating icy fruit chunks which is unappetizing. I would be more forgiving in review if I didn't see the worker handle our ice cream with his bare hands, clearly a health food violation and unsanitary for uncooked foods. The nuts I had mixed in were bitter and burnt and I spent close to $9 for it

Great ice cream and friendly staff! I love places where you can customize your ice cream to your exact taste like here! Choose your base and any add-ins or flavors you want. Personally, my choice for Highland's best ice cream. Stop in!

We stopped in yesterday for the first time and it is quite different from what we expected. There are only two choices of flavors; chocolate or vanilla, and a large selection of toppings that can be added which was quite good but certainly not as generous as most of the photos by other reviewers. The 6 ounce cup was exactly level with the top of the cup and not rounded as was my waffle cone. It was still an adequate amount but just not what one usually expects and certainly not what is depicted in past photos. Very refreshing on a warm July summer day!

For 15 years visiting North Carolina we looked up ice cream near me! This is our go to when we are in the area and part of the reason we now visit!We used to go to Cashiers but have been hgoing to higlands location. Sweettreats is simply the best Ice cream! I love how the make it with the machines! We look forward to going again! Please comeback to Cashiers!

My favorite type of ice cream! They actually blend the toppings with the ice cream as you wish. Creamy and on point 🍦🤪 probably one of the best ice creams I’ve ever had!!

Ice cream was good!However! They had no toppings/flavoring when we went. My wife and I tried to order 5 different toppings/flavors and were told they were out of everything we asked for. While sitting eating our “6th choice” ice cream we heard others walk in and order and were also told a few times that they didn’t have the customers choice.The employees were friendly enough but management needs to step up the inventory game.

The best of the "mix in the things you want and we make an ice cream out of that" style of ice cream place. They use these very serious industrial looking mixing machines, it's really cool to watch the process.I like to get vanilla ice cream, strawberries, raspberries, and milk chocolate. But really every combination I've tried has been great. This is one of my favorite ice cream places that I've ever been to.

Don't waste your time or money! Overpriced and terrible food and service! Waited 20 minutes for a muffaleta sandwich that comes with homemade chips. Sat in a booth and noticed it was covered in ants and so were you stool seating areas. Got my "sandwich" that was 2 pieces of deli meat on a cut hotdog bun and 6 cheetos puffs. Requested a refund and gave the food back to the cashier. They said they would refund the money but after looking at my account, I was still charged. I could not recommend staying away from this place more.

We drive 2 hours EACH way just to get ice cream at SweeTreats! We’ve been going there for years and love it! Liked their other location better. Could sit outside under the trees, or watch the fish in their stream.Today they were JAMMED with people, but they handled it like champs! No problems, no mix-ups, etc. Everything went great. Well worth the drive - or to us it is!!

Not very good. Save your money. I am pretty sure that they are serving soft serve ice cream. Don’t let the “custom” ice cream wording fool you. It doesn’t taste like homemade or real ice cream. The custom means that they will put as many different flavors together as you want and then they blend them together. It was expensive too. We threw ours away after a few bites.

Great ice cream, but don’t plan to go anywhere near the closing time. Our 2 nights in Highlands we attempted to squeeze in a visit after dinner, and the staff closed 15 minutes earlier than the closing time posted on the door - chairs on tables and ice cream put away. The staff proceeded to purposefully ignore us and our attempts to get their attention. We love the ice cream, so we’ll adjust when we come back next year. Disappointed!

I used to come here all the time and get the torta de carnitas and loved it but they were out of pork so I went with the French dip and my mom got the “hot” muffuletta. We looked at each other and just laughed. There was about 2 thin slices of meat on them and they were both cold! I never write bad reviews but these were the worst 2 sandwiches I’ve ever seen or ate. Hopefully they will step it up.

I used to love this place, but for the past year it has gone down hill! It's never opened, they offer online orders but it's always unavailable, you call to place an order and they never answer. After months of not eating there (because they are never opened) I was finally able to order and I was so excited but I was quickly disappointed!!! I ordered the Highlands Hill, I got TRASH, and I say trash because nothing was ediable. The picture on the left is what they advertise on their FB the picture on the right is what they gave me. I called and spoke to the manager, he acted like he didn't care, and said "yeah that's what we work with now", referring to the nasty ham.I will NEVER be ordering from there.Don't waste your money!!

Been coming here for the amazing Very Berry ice cream since my daughter was a child. She just got married in Highlands, NC and we asked if they could make a large batch to serve with the wedding cake and they agreed! Best wedding dessert ever! Thank you, Josh!! It meant so much to Hannah to have the Very Berry at her reception!

LOVE the ice cream here. My family’s all time favorite ice cream shop. Would much rather go to the old location by the stream than the downtown location. Should not have changed their hours, closing at 5 is costing them a lot of customers.

Ice cream was good but service was very slow. Staff was young and seemed very distracted talking to each other. Ordering process was a bit confusing because you order away from the ice cream counter where there are signs explaining the process.

Delicious frozen yogurt. However, the staff was young, impatient, and unkind. No matter how popular your shop is, good customer service goes a long way. Maybe we caught you on a bad day. Hopefully our next visit comes with fewer eyerolls.

It was a hot day and we were ready for a rest. Food was good. Nothing spectacular. Clean bathrooms and a semi-air conidition deli. So many people coming in and out that it was hard to keep the doors shut to let the air conditioner work. Food was served quickly with no issues. Restaurant was clean and well stocked with napkins, utensils and such.

Very good ice cream at a reasonable price for this town. You select either a vanilla or a chocolate base, then " build" your creation. The process behind the counter is inefficient, resulting in lines and long waits, but it's worth the wait.

What is not to love about SweeTreats?! I was first introduced to this place by my wife and her family 4 years ago when I came up to Highlands to stay the weekend with them at their mountain house. They have been coming to Highlands for the past 50+ years. Since the first location opened up in the late 80’s it has been their go to place for ice cream in Highlands! My wife has always got the vanilla ice cream with Mint Chocolate Chip. I’ve tried a variety of concoctions! LolThis past weekend we came up for Labor Day weekend and made two stops into StweeTreats! One day I got the vanilla ice cream with Green Mint Oreo in a waffle cone... SOOOO DELICIOUS!!!!!!! the next time I got a chocolate ice cream with Oreos! My wife stuck with her classic; Mint Chocolate Chip haha but I have to say, it is just as delicious as any other ones I have tried!The new building is smaller inside than the last location and seating is very limited, HOWEVER, it is a prime location, because it’s located on the main strip where all the foot traffic is; great business decision you guys.The new renovation is also superb! I do not feel like I’m walking into a hole in the wall ice cream shop anymore! Not that I minded the hole in the wall feel, but the new layout is much more welcoming and inviting! Another great business decision you guys.I hope that you guys continue to exceed and grow, so that when my wife and I have kids they can make this place a tradition of their own as well when we get old! Keep up the excellent work SweeTreats!

They make some mean frozen yogurt, and you get to add everything that your heart contents: fruit, sweets, and nuts to it. There sandwiches are really good too! Yes, there is regular ice cream too.

lovely little shop, nothing fancy when you see it at first, just a nice little store. but their product is delicious, just pick a base and add whatever you want, made to order. I love the yogurt the most personally.
