Been coming here for a couple years now and almost every time has been great. The wait can be long sometimes. It can range from 30 mins to an hour so beware of the busy hours! But the food always comes out fresh and tasty. Never had to complain about it. The only reason for 4 stars on service is because the last time my mom and I went which was around 12am on a Wednesday night, the waiter we had started off nice but then started to get a little rude as time passed by. We don’t know what triggered him because he took down our order just fine but then after that he only brought out one of our dishes and made someone else bring the rest out. So he didn’t even come back to check on us anymore. We were thinking maybe he’s new to the community since we’ve never seen him before but it was just weird on his part. The rest of the staff were respectful though.

This is an absolute hidden gem in North Carolina! Incredible atmosphere with an amazing building and the food is some of the best in the area. I recommend it to all of my friends who come in to visit and always take my family here when they are in town. It's a pretty simple menu, but the quality of their products is unsurpassed. It's always seems like a special occasion when I am in the area and get to stop by to eat. It's such a pleasant experience, the food is always excellent, and the staff is fantastic.

Food was great, service was stupendous, staff was very friendly, kind and courteous. We went for the food. Everybody eats. No matter where you eat every person has a story. Everybody that prepares your food has a story. Go eat and stop worrying about the naysayers. Your going to eat not be converted to some cult. That’s just plain silly and petty. Bakery was the greatest store with tons of things to look at! If your going - go for the food! Simple!

I really enjoy the folksy charm this restaurant had. It truly feels like you are walking into another place and time. Watching the mini elevator deliver food to the upstairs part of the restaurant was fascinating. The food smelled and tasted amazing. I don’t think I have ever had a sandwich taste so good! The wait staff are super friendly, but you might have to wait a little. Overall, this is must stop place if you are passing through Alexander county.

The food and employees were both amazing. Everything is so fresh and homemade. Had a great strawberry smoothie, side salad, amd a roast beef and turkey with Swiss on a heritage roll. The roll was so soft and fresh and the meats were outstanding. Will be back 100%. They have a little market next door also were they bake fresh bread everyday.

Delicious food,cozy atmosphere, friendly staff and the are open 24 hours certain nights! I ordered the root beer to drink it was the best I’ve have ever had! The chili and jalapeño cornbread for appetizer,the chicken Alexander and the deli rosé sandwiches both were delicious with the homemade chips and bread is so fresh! Last but not least we got the carrot cake! Everything was so good and our waiter Tuckeif was amazing we will definitely be back!

Perfect dining experience. Their bread is so fresh, we had a Chicken Alexander Sandwich and a Reuben. So delicious!!! Their Hibiscus drink is wonderful, very light and refreshing. The staff is so polite, it was wonderful to watch the food being prepared. The architecture of the building is so aesthetically pleasing. I’ve dined here many times, and if I lived closer, I’d be there several times a week. We also took home several DELICIOUS deserts for our family. 10/10!!!

Great place to hop off I-40 and go visit. Food and service were great! Desserts were awesome and draft root beer very good. The sweet potato pound cake with walnuts and maple glaze was best. Really nice restaurant and organic food market out in middle of nowhere. Run by the 12 Tribes, very nice group of folks.

I love this place. The decor is wonderful. Food is high quality and always consistent. They have gluten free rice bread. I wish they had gluten free desserts. The Mango Mate is so good. I would have given five stars for service, however, the last waiter I had was not very nice and I had a waitress that gave me a hard time when I asked for the rice loaf bread. Too bad they are not open on Saturday.Dietary restrictions: They have gluten free bread options.

The food is great. The menu is limited but the options they have are high quality. The bread for the sandwiches is made fresh daily, yum.The place is unique on the inside and allows you to relax and appreciate craftsmanship. The dumb waiter actually works.The staff was pleasant, attentive and respectful.This was my second time going and it was as positive of an experience as the first time. I will go back and bring more friends with me to experience the flavors and atmosphere.Another bonus is there store that is attached. You can go get fresh bread and pastries to take home or get some Maple syrup, honey or peanut butter and much more.Great overall experience. Can't wait to go again.

This was a must visit while I was in Hickory visiting my brother. He has raved about this place forever and he was finally able to take me. Love the fresh options and the care they took in greeting us. Wet comfortable atmosphere. Loved the rustic design and multi-level floors. Food was delicious with lots of options to choose from. We all ate something different although the presentation was amazing for each item.Stop by if you get a chance!We also stopped in the grocery store/gift shop. I bought several of the bees wax hand creams for my wife and I. They are amazing. Highly recommend taking g the time to shop all the natural products they have. Don’t forget the sale on day old bread!Thanks Yellow Deli!

It's an attractive building. There is a cool water wheel off the left. Inside are some cool seating areas, which I would've preferred to sit in. The upstairs area to the left side leaves much to be desired. We were disappointed in the depressing green color on the walls. But the service was very good, and the workers were very friendly and although we did have to wait a long time for our food, I understood it was very busy. They have great sandwiches, and the minestrone soup was good, too.I don't know if it was something I ate or from the smells in their neato gift shop because I kept sneezing, and by the time I was done eating, my face was all broken out, which required getting benadryl on the way home.5 stars for the good food and service, though.

I'm going to start off by saying this place is absolutely beautiful. The employees are so friendly. As soon as you walk in the air is just light. No negative energy at all. There is also a store right beside it you can shop atThe food is wonderful and oh so yummy. Once I figure out how to add pictures I will add some. If you're ever in Taylorsville NC it's worth the little drive to try this place.

This place is amazing. Everyone who work here is amazing, respectful and calm. The environment pf this place is so especial is a must to stop and live the experience.The food taste like real home made food. I love the chicken Alexander sandwich and the chili, I can tell is my favorito. The market where they sell their own products is also a great thing.

This place is phenomenal, outstanding and the food and tea are delicious and the service is awesome our waitress was very accommodating and knowledgeable about their meals. We had the beef pastrami, Reuben sandwiches and the tomato basil soup was extraordinary very tasty. The atmosphere is so unique. Then we walked the trio store which had variety of things essential oils and all kinds of things homemade ice cream and the people are very nice can't wait to have one in Texas. Can't say anything negative because they made our trip here so pleasant we will definitely come back before we leave to Florida.

Today was the first time my fiancé and I came here to eat. We absolutely loved it! From the vibe, to the staff, to the tea they served while you wait. We even sat in a booth that over looked the rest of the dining floor, it was too cute! They also had a health rating score of 100! Looking around I can definitely see why. The place was super clean, the environment was inviting, and the food was excellent. We’ll definitely be coming back!

This place is awesome! It is very peaceful and relaxing. The food is exceptional. The menu is small but almost everything is made from scratch, bread, soup, chili. Made daily. The chili is tha bomb. The inside is decorated very nice. Very clean. Great service. The manager spoke with us when we were seated and gave us the rundown about the menu. That was nice too. I honestly can’t say a bad thing about Yellow Deli. I highly, highly, recommend this place for sure. Come check it out. You will see. Can’t wait to go back. Awesome!!

We made a quick pitstop here after a day at Emerald Hollow Mine. They were about ready to close down for the day, but were gracious enough to offer us a table. Since it was closing so soon, we went ahead and grabbed a few things from the shop and spoke with the owner about some other restaurant recommendations he may have.Before we left, he came back out with a handful of baked goods for us since we “didn’t get to try any today.”Such wonderful people, such a beautiful little spot. The Yellow deli in Hiddenite NC is definitely a place to check out if you are looking for a great meal. I had the tomato basil soup and chicken Alexander for lunch. The soup was delicious and served at the perfect temperature. The sandwich was fantastic with fresh roll and lettuce and tomato. Everything thing about this place is awesome and delicious. Definitely stop by if you are in the area.

Yellow deli is a place you have to go if you're in North Carolina. It's such a unique spot. Its such a unique experience from everything from the interior to the serving to the staff.We were a pretty big crowd and I tried lots of things. One of my favorites was the chicken Alexander for sure.It's a place I will definitely go again!Wheelchair accessibility: It has wheelchair access to the second level but also great wheelchair access through the store. We did not go with the wheelchair but I did go with strollers.
