I highly recommend asking for Finn, he's super friendly and has never steered me wrong.

My wife and I absolutely LOVE this pet store. They have such a wide variety of high quality food, treats, toys, and so much more! I could spend hours in this store looking at all of the products. The staff is also so friendly, welcoming, and very knowledgeable about all of their products. We drive 30 minutes to this pet store at least every two weeks and it is so worth it!

The staff is warm and welcoming. I stopped by Sunday about 10 minutes before they opened and they opened up... They didn't have to do that... I was fine with waiting outside till it was time to open. One if my boyz has digestive issues severe and one time they were short on the canned food that he can eat and they order a case to have on hand... Just great employees and I love all the little extras the store carries.. I go there to gift shop and its not the boyz!!!

I love natural pet stores as I love what they carry. I stopped in for a certain medical treat for my elderly cat, and it’s all I needed. However, when I went to checkout, the girl checking us out kept putting our $10 bill through the counterfeit machine and when we politely asked if they have to do that for every bill, (we asked in a joking manner because we were like “Oh that would take forever!”) she got nervous and admitted she doesn’t do that for everyone, and “because it’s the holidays”, she specifically thought we had counterfeit bills. So, not sure if it was my tote bag and she thought I was stealing, or me and my boyfriends clothes weren’t fancy enough, but it was incredibly rude. I won’t return since I don’t seem to be welcome, it’s just super disappointing. I would’ve loved to have been a regular customer here. She should’ve just said they do it for every bill and I would’ve been ignorant to the assumption that I was being targeted specifically, but she admitted to it and It was just rude.

Natural Dog-Hickory Location is the place to go for all your fur baby needs! The store is always clean, neat, stocked and well organized. Most important we are always greeted by super friendly, helpful & knowledgeable staff! Our most recent trip Jen & Julia were very helpful with our goal of finding something new to try for both our fur babies —our cat and boxer. Our boxer now loves the Grandma Lucy’s Organic Oven baked treats (especially the apple). In short management has to be doing something right at this location. Keep up the good work. We will continue to be customers here and will recommend Natural Dog-Hickory location to everyone as well!

I cannot begin to day enough GREAT things about this location! Super knowledgeable, very friendly, willing to help do research - coming from retail myself, I am highly impressed! Not to mention, they donate to rescues. Win win if you ask me! They have the store merchandised well, it is very clean and easy to navigate and find what you are looking for. The Store Manager, Assistant Manger and associates are incredible people! If you haven’t been to this location - GO!!!

I cannot say enough great things about the customer service. I have walked by the Natural Dog several times on my way to Target, but yesterday I decided to go inside. I was blown away by how much they knew about their products. I shared my concerns with my fur baby's allergies and paw licking and they were so helpful. They gave multiple recommendations and then let me decide with no pressure or pushy sales pitch. They truly care about their customers.

Went in there to browse and see if I could find something for my dog who chews to destroy (lucky for me she only cares about balls and not stuffed toys, furniture, etc) and the girl, whose name I wish I'd caught, was so helpful and knowledgeable about the products. She explained her own experience with toys for her dog and gave me other great options. I took her referrals and so far so good because it's been a few hours and the balls are still well in tact after going through dozens of tennis balls destroyed within 5 minutes. Will definitely continue shopping at Natural Dog - amazing customer service!

About a month ago back me and my husband we're going to visit Target. We pulled up to see there was a new pet store in the shopping complex. Immediately I got excited to see something new in the area. We went in and everything looks clean well-organized and super-fantastic layout I was automatically greeted when I walked in the door and asked multiple times if I needed help. I was also informed about the program they have and I also was helped with new nutrition information on the different kinds of varieties of food they offer I did end up getting my dog something new to try while I was there and when I was at the front counter they gave me a coupon which made it isn't cheaper I really enjoyed my visit and highly recommend it to anyone.

These ladies know their stuff when it comes to pets. Great food knowledge if you have a pet with allergies, yes, pets have them too. Great policy on finding a perfect food for them and will let you return unused portion if they don't like the food. They take their time with you and listen then offer suggestions on what your per may like. Great people!

So I was driving 90 miles to Banner Elk to purchase Raw Dog Food "Answers Detailed Dog Food" . I was originally introduced to the food product in a Raleigh Pet store by a NC State Vet Graduate. The closest place to my home 'Hickory' -2 years ago was a boutique pet store in Banner Elk NC. Since 2018 I made the trip to Banner Elk to make all of my purchases. Thank goodness 'The Natural Dog' opened beside of the Hickory Target. I was elated to find they carry the Answers Pet Food. I have been shopping there ever since. Addie - Store Manager is incredibly helpful. She is extremely knowledgeable of their pet food brands and can answer questions about pet allergies, reflux, special vet diets, skin care, issues w/taurine, grain free diets, amino acids, etc. One of her staff members Tapanga is the scientist. She really is a chemist/science major and can break down the details of food and explain the science behind so many things. This store is like your mom and pop pharmacy. This is not like your big box retails stores. The bottomline: If you have the time to spend, they will give your their undivided attention. I highly encourage you to go see these ladies!

It was pretty cool to visit with the blankets and pillows and stuff to look at but I dont use all natural stuff often just treats sometimes do realistically I wont be there often but I have found some good gifts there for animal lovers
