Complete waste of money. Staff was nice enough but doctor was supposed to look at my cats bottom lip and examined her top. Also kept calling her a he. Did get a rabies vaccine she needed so that's the 2 stars. Won't be going back.

To begin with I was very happy with their care. They took my cat in who was unwell the same day we called. They thought it was dehydration and a possible herpes flare up and UTI after doing some tests. So they gave her an IV, antibiotic shot and gave us some medicine for her eyes and to help her appetite. They told us to bring her back in on Friday if she still wasn't eating. We ended up having to bring her back in. After looking at her he thought maybe it was her pancreas so sent us to see the ultrasound specialist at their sister hospital Bethlehem the following week. They gave us morphine to help her with the pain and had given her another IV and had us continue the other medications. They told us they would call us after the ultrasound to tell us what is causing the issues with her. After we got her back we called the next day. The first time we called the receptionist stated that the office that had done the procedure hadn't provided adequate information and they were trying to get it. The second time we called that day we were told the doctor wasn't available and would call back. Third time we called that day we were told the doctor would call after his last patient. The second day we called twice and each time they told us the doctor would call us back. Third day we called the first time they said the doctor had called and left a message. We hadn't received anything. When she checked she had realized she wasn't looking at the wrong client and he hadn't contacted us. Second time called and was told the doctor would contact us after his last patient. So feel like it was $1000 with no clear answers or how to prevent a future occurrence. Would have loved to have follow through like promised and expected. Perhaps they will after this review. One can only hope.

Dr. Furtado is the the absolute greatest! He has always been informative, compassionate, and most importantly my dogs trust him. I will always take my pets to see him as long as he is available and able to see me.Quick story:My miniature pinscher, Tula, was on the "watch" list for nipping at vet techs in her younger more spunky days. The day she met Dr. Furtado, he with no hesitation gently scooped her from my arms and took her away for a closer look. My jaw was on the floor! There my min pin was unphased by a complete stranger picking her up and carrying her away!!! Tula has always been comfortable with Dr. Furtado and that is with noting!

The staff was helpful when calling about a dog patient reference for people wanting to adopt a dog drop our rescue. They were nice and pleasant on the phone and quickly checked the files for us. If I lived nearby I would be a client based on the phone presence. Very please with the staff. Thank you for the help!

I would not recommend this vet to anyone! I took my little dog there today to have a mass removed, I also wanted it to be biopsied. First of all I dropped him off at 7:30 am, per their request. The lady that checked us in was not very interested in speaking with us. More interested in me signing paperwork. I did not hear a word from them until 2 pm. They tell me on the phone he was good and that I didn't want the biopsy correct? I said no I want the biopsy because I would rather know than not know. I get there to pick him up and they inform me that they accidentally threw away the mass. They had searched through the trash and couldn't locate it. I was also informed that the vet was on break, but they could call him to speak with me. He then calls me to inform me on how things went and how they tossed the mass and that he was sure it was just a wart. Ok...moving on then. I was very upset but what can I do? I trusted a job to be performed and they failed miserably. As if things couldn't get worse...my son takes my dog to the car while I pay for this fiasco....he video chats me and says "mom is this suppose to still be in his arm". There in my dogs arm is the IV catheter!!! I tell the lady at the front desk and she says that is not suppose to be in his arm! So my son brings him back in for them to remove it! There is absolutely no reason for this to have happened. Now I worry about what my dog actually went through while he was there. I don't think they realize that pets are our family and we certainly want them to be treated with compassion. I will take him back to get his sutures out....and will not let him out of my sight while this happens! They do not allow you in the exam room while they exam your pet also. I understand that some animals misbehave with their owners present, but I after my experience today, I do not trust them at all.

I am so very disappointed in the decline of service and lack of caring I have been experiencing at Mt. View Animal Hospital. I have been taking my 5 to 6 animals here for many years.The is never a problem getting an appointment for a well visit or vaccinations, but for the past 3 years when my pets get sick or injured I am ALWAYS literally every time told there are no appointments available until a week or more.This week when I needed to get my cat seen because her eye was swollen shut I was told the exact same thing!! There is nothing available!! Am I supposed to let my pet be sick for an extended time?? Why can I get an appointment to bring 4 animals in at once for well visits and spend $600 but my cat can’t be seen when she is sick? YOU ARE SUPPOSED TO BE MY ANIMAL’S VETERINARIAN WHEN THEY ARE SICK!!! Do you have some kind of arrangement with an emergency vet that prevents you from seeing sick animals in a timely manner? Unbelievable how this clinic has changed from caring greatly about my pets to not giving a second thought about them when they need help the most!!

This Vet is unbelievable. I have been going to this hospital for 9 years! I called for an apt for a shot, a shot! They were 2 weeks out, ok fine. Asked for meds for itching, which he gets a shot for every year , since they couldn't see him. Can't do that without seeing him. This is just unbelievable. My dog is miserable with these allergies, again which he gets treated for every year. Needless to say I will not be back!If I could give less than 1 star I sure would.

TL;DR: When attempting to schedule a life saving surgery for our cat, the person on the phone was extremely condescending and had absolutely zero interest in saving my cat.Unfortunately, yesterday my cat was shot by an unknown person in our neighborhood. At first appearances, she seemed to have just broken her arm, and we didn’t even realize she had been shot. We called Mountain View Animal Hospital and they told us to take her to the emergency vet. Fair enough, maybe the ER vet is better equipped to help her.Well after waiting for a couple of hours they finally told us that she had been shot. Her upper arm bone was completely shattered, and the bullet is still in her arm. Because the bone is so damaged they cannot repair it and recommended amputation. The ER vet told us to take her home and call her regular vet to schedule the procedure.We called Mountain View Animal Hospital this morning as soon as they opened to schedule the appointment, and I can confidently say we will never take Kitty back here. The receptionist didn’t even seem to want to hear what happened. They had no interest in helping us or Kitty. She cut my wife off in mid story to tell her that they were booked until the end of the month, and that even that would just be a consultation.Animal Hospital is a lie. This is a checkup facility. If you have an animal that needs any sort of life saving intervention do not call here, as no help will be found.Shame on you all.

Love, love, love Dr. Furtado! He will leave no stone unturned when it comes to your fur baby and their health, especially when they are suffering from illness. The ladies up front are always kind, caring and professional. I wouldn't go any where else for the health maintenance of my 4 fur babes.

Good vet hospital. Staff treated my dog super nice and they all are extremely polite. Dr. Derek Lindstrom took time to answer my questions and I have complete confidence the my dog is getting quality care. No waiting a week to get an appointment if you need one. That is important to me. If I feel my animal needs vet care, why would I want to wait a week to 10 days to see someone. Always have been able to get in within 24 hours at this hospital. I highly recommend them.

We just moved here from Ft. Lauderdale Saturday and needed to take one of our cats to see a doctor. We were able to get into Mountain View and "What A Find!" "They were great!"We have signed up our dogs for their annual checkups in August and are so grateful we were able to find a facility that has our total trust.

They are always so kind with my dog Baxter. The vet makes him so anxious, and they go above and beyond to make him comfortable. Also, the veterinarian is very knowledgeable about Baxter's issues. I would highly recommend Mountain View for your pet.

I am new to the Hickory area and experienced an emergency with one of my dogs. Mountain View Animal Hospital stepped up and took amazing care of my baby! They are extremely professional and caring and go the extra mile to make sure that all bases are covered with their patients. I just moved to the area, this is the nicest cleanest and best vet office I have ever worked with in my 32 years. The level of care they put into my Ollie was beyond what I could have asked for. There are no hidden costs, they tell you up front. They explain things, and even were courteous to my two children who were getting rambunctious with the wait. I would and will recommend this vet to everyone.

Was told I’d have to pay $75 for a checkup including rabies shot. Paid over $200. Was told to get my cat spayed it wouldn’t be over $200. Paid over $400. That’s just for one cat. I will not be going back.

Very thorough/detail with my dogs. I’m always forgetting the vet dr name but she is amazing. If I was at home and have some concerns about my dog I called them and buddy let me tell ya they can help you over the phone if it not needed to be seen at the vet. There price is very reasonable. I recommend to all my friends’ dogs or cats to go Mt View Animal Hospital I definitely give them 5star*****

Very friendly staff. I came in on a Saturday, without an appointment and was seen right away. My little old dog was very sick and they gave him exactly what he needed. The price wasn't too bad (for a vet) 🙄. And best of all, my old man is back to his happy self! ❤️

My ex-wife took both of our dogs there and everyone became attached to our pups. They were amazing when my Hut could no longer go on and was in pain. We allowed the staff to say their goodbyes to Hut before having him put down. They were so wonderful!
