Until today I hadn't been to Griffins to eat since 2017 and I didn't write a review then so I'll do it now. Back then there were booths. Those are gone now. Back then the food was surprisingly good for an out of the way "greasy spoon." I didn't get to try anything from the menu this time because I left almost as soon as I came in the door. There were two old ladies chain smoking on the porch which was turn-off #1, turn off #2 was the grubby mid-lifer working the grill in a dirty shirt two sizes too small for him. And turn-off #3 was that I actually took time to park and walk into this place ready to spend some of my money until I got inside and realized it was just the back end of a gas station. A partition, an enclosed kitchen, some better seating and clean clothes for the employees would do wonders for this place..oh yeah, a cook who doesn't look like he could double as a mechanic and a waitress who actually notices when a customer walks through the door might be helpful also.

Just a few suggestions, 1: Try answering your business phone in a professional manner. "Hello" or "Yes?" is not acceptable and confusing to the caller. Am I calling Griffin's or am I calling my neighbor...who knows! 2: If you choose to advertise your cafe hours, stick to them. If you post a notice stating you'll be closing early due to a holiday or something of that nature in advance, understandable. Closing because you're short staffed or "not busy" causes you to miss out on business you could of made if you were open the full hours listed...which are already limiting. Will I get food today...who knows! 3: Consider a more budget friendly menu because Y'all are killing me with your prices. I know you're trying to make money but I'm not trying to go broke being a patron of your establishment. I'm giving y'all 3 stars because I enjoy the food (when I can get it 😉) and when in the store, the staff is pretty friendly but maybe I'm asking for too much...who knows! You've got some work to do. Best of luck.

I was skeptical when ownership changed but the man that runs it now has done a great job with the place.Every morning every customer he has a friendly smile on his face and his staff usually do too. The cafe is definitely worth eating from. Good prices and everything I've had has been great taste texture and quality.

Just stumbled upon this accidentally at lunch.I like these types of places. Experiencs are good for life.There Are booths for the review below this states not.It's a gas station burger and food joint. Don't expect what it is not................

This place is usually good, but this morning we ended up going somewhere else. I’m not going to mention names, because this person is usually awesome and usually smiling, but try to refrain from saying you’re about to throw up in front of customers. Also, I heard a man wanted scrambled eggs and you told him you weren’t going to scramble them. I’m not sure if you were being serious or not, but I hope you weren’t. You sure did sound like it though. If you’re feeling that bad, then go home. Doesn’t matter how behind you are. Trust me... we don’t want you cooking our food if you’re sick. On that note, I hope your day gets better and you feel better. I’ll just refrain from eating here for a while.

Zero personality. No "Good Morning". Nothing. Two of the new owners walked right past me. Nothing. After sitting and looking at the menu i was asked if i wanted breakfast. Yes please. Then told to come up to the counter to order. Everyone was either plain rude or disrespectful. Wont be back. And its a shame. They used to be great when American owned AND OPERATED.

One of my favorite places. Griffin's is part of a western NC delicacy, which is gas stations that serve draft beer and food. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is very nice. Get the prime rib sandwich with mushroom and swiss.

This place is awful!!!!! Went to get propane tank exchanges. Got one with cap on it. Drove home about 5 min away. It's empty go back to store and guy behind counter cops an attitude. I am not trying to steal from anyone. I am in a walking cast up to my knee guy never once offered to help me either time just accused me of trying to steal from him. I will never go back here again.

This gas station has a poor image of appear and they always give you a excuse the restroom is broke I guess because the owner look at my appearance and say it was clogged why this only happens at gas stations own by Hindus..
