If you decide to shop here, BE AWARE that you may not be able to return or exchange. My Husband and I have been very dedicated customers to Dunham's. Last year half of the gifts under our Christmas tree came from Dunham's. As I shopped there yesterday, I thought this year would be the same. That changed today when I went to exchange (not return) two items I bought yesterday. One was a Clemson Sweatshirt I bought for my dad for Christmas. I got home and realized the embroidery was "picked" and thread was pulling out. I explained this to the cashier and her response was " yeah they are all like that, that's what these sweaters do"....with a nasty attitude, she allowed the exchange. The second item was a pair of slippers I also bought yesterday. I put them on when I got home and within five minutes they fell of my feet 3x. So I wanted to exchange them for a smaller size. With tags and the original hanger, she refused the exchange stating "We don't return items with dust or dirt on the bottoms". There were 5 specs of lint (see pictures) on them from our laundry room floor. She basically called me a liar when I told her they had never been worn outside. Let's assume, for argument sake, that they couldn't be returned to the sales floor and had to be thrown out.... You just lost hundreds of dollars from my family for the sake of $12 slippers. Not to mention you have no problem selling sweaters that are falling apart! Customer service would have gone a long way. We were planning on buying a thousand dollar mini dirt bike from y'all. But this horrid lady MADE SURE I won't spend another dime here.

Visited the Hendersonville.NC store on Sunday 2/18/24. I purchased a jacket and when leaving the store I noticed a sale sign on the rack I had picked up the jacket from, along with several jackets just like the one I purchased. I took a pic and went back to the register as it was the brand listed on the sign and showed the cashier. She agreed it was in fact on sale. A manager was called for a price change He stated it was not on sale and they were on the wrong rack. Having every intention of still leaving with the jacket at the price I paid, I stated the. You need to remove the other jackets. He looked at me and told me to “ get over it” I said excuse me? My husband looked at him and said what was that again? He made another smart comment and I put the jacket on the counter and said I want my money back. I then asked him for his name, three times. He flat out said NO. I said I would be calling corporate , he said whatever. Most unprofessional and rude manager ever. Will never purchase from this store again.

The first experience was AWFUL! I went in to buy an exercise bike around 6:30 PM on Sunday, and they close at 7 PM. The nice lady at the register asked for some assistance and another female got on the radio and said “ she had to wait until 630 to get an exercise bike”. She said it with enough attitude that it upset me and I walked out of the store that day. Mind you, the bike was in a box already packed up and ready to go.Before I left I asked if they priced matched items from Academy or Dick’s Sporting Goods and they said they did. I also asked them if coupons can stack with a price match and they said yes. Again, I was upset by the comment made over the radio so I left.I went back this evening to get an exercise bike and was immediately helped by Steven! He is the only reason I am giving this a 4/5 stars. He informed me that they did not actually price match unless the item was available in store, and by that time, four days after I originally tried to purchase the bike, the item was sold out in stores.He deeply apologize for the behavior of the other employee and honored the price match. He even helped me load the bike into my truck. He is the only reason I would ever consider shopping there again.Thank you Steven for the wonderful customer service!

This store has everything for you and your active family's needs. I believe they are better stocked than Capellas and Bass Pro. They have something for everyone in your active family's lifestyle. Great sales and a great variety of materials. Thank you !

Not good place work for not enough hours or pay, when close early employees are told pick up trash straighten clothes till manager counts safe which takes over an hour when shouldn't take that long to do think this place go out business soon can't get stock like ammo or employees to stay.

So far I have no complaints other than their boots being so expensive. Only my 2nd time going here but I bought a hoodie this time & it only cost $16 flat after taxes. Not a cheaply made one either. It has a fluffy liner and nice design.

Low or nonexistent stock on ammo. Lots of target ammo but very little defensive. Employees are impossible to find. The few that are there are too busy cutting up with each other. Customer service is 0 stars.

Return policy for tents. Bought a pop up tent. Opened it up seen it was bent. Tried to use it anyways. It didn't hold up. Tried to Return it. They said I had to go through the manufacturer. I contacted the vendor. The vendor said they have a contract with Dunhams, and Dunhams is responsible for refunds. Tried back with Dunhams showed them the email. The manager was rude, and still refused my refund. Needless to say I will drive however far I have to, and buy from anywhere, but Dunhams due to this experience. I have spent hundreds of dollars, and have growing kids who play sports. Dunhams has lost thousands of my future dollars. Over poor management.

You’d think a store that big would have people around in case you had a question or needed help. But no… there’s always only 1. A single cashier and that’s pretty much it. Wanna buy a gun? Hope you don’t mind waiting 2 hours to get someone back there to help. 🤣

The employees that we encountered were friendly, although very sparse for such a large store. Given the state of the store, you'd expect more discounts, but prices were fairly average for a sporting goods store. I am just a little surprised this store can stay open given the size of the store, lack of customers, lack of luster and pricing. However, if you need sporting goods and are close by, I would suggest paying Durhams a visit.

Firearms and ammunition prices are outrageously over pricedAmmunition is easily 30% to 40% more than any other store. Firearms are full MSRP or even MSRP+10%. There is no reason to buy anything from this store at their price-gouging rates.

The store and staff were very nice. The only reason I gave 4 stars is because the website said they had a product in stock that was not on the shelves. The employee told me they probably did have it but it was on one of the 6 trailers they had to unload. They are backed up because they can't find help. I wish people wanted to work instead of collecting an unemployment check. Those of us including their employees who do work would like to buy products if they are stocked. It's a sad state of affairs that our country is in because of the Democrats when people won't even come in and stock shelves. In any case the store and their staff are very nice.

I only give a two star because the location is close to the house. 9 miles. The store is ill staffed and some of the staff is downright disprespectful. Reminds me of a pre-teen rolling eyes when you ask them a question. Unwilling to help at all. Went back twice for the same rude behaviour. It is a challenging world today. People want paid they just don't want to work. Inventory is all over the place. I would think you would want your ammo and weapons closely monitored. Not monitored from the front of the store. Wait 10 minutes and have to go all over the vast square footage to find someone that might work there. Customers are so desperate to find an employee to help them that they ask everyone who walks past them "do you work here" I understand being understaffed. This store is so understaffed the doors should not have been unlocked today. Came home and told my husband I would never walk in that store again.

The staff was undertrained and uncommunicative, it took literally ten minutes to check out due to one employee not understanding how to use the computer while another surly older lady closed her drawer and just walked away. The man who ended up checking me out took a phone call and ignored the transaction almost entirely. This poor service combined with overpriced and limited stock convinced me to never go back. I’ll make the longer drive to find a better sporting goods store in the future.

Terribly rude management and would not honor return policy. Will never be returning.Meat grinder ruined all our jerky with aluminum that ground off the meat grinder due to poor casting. Not to mention the pits in the aluminum that made it completely unsafe for food.

Typically very difficult to get service without having to hunt someone down. Went in to make a firearm purchase and out of the 4 employees that were actually in that particular department, only 1 was working. He was assisting another customer with a purchase. 2 employees, one of which was the manager, were doing something on the computer(?) but didn't even acknowledge me. I'm a pretty big guy so I know they didn't miss me. The fourth guy was just standing behind the counter eating something. He saw me too but apparently was too busy with his snack. I'll go elsewhere for my purchases from now on. Only gave 2 stars because they usually have some of the ammo that I need.

Amber, ( she’s the one with blond hair it had streaks of pink highlights) she was awesome she helped being decisive on a firearm purchase and was patient I mean I was there two days being indecisive… finally got the one I wanted process was quicker than expected, I am satisfied with my purchase and wife and I enjoyed her attitude and willingness to help, I can agree the store seemed understaffed but you walk up to the front and ask for assistance they haven’t forgot about you…overall my experience every-time I shop here is great I have purchased clothes and shoes, toys for kids, and now a firearm and prices usually seem good I will be returning

Bad management.Could not make a purchase because I used a 100$ bill and “they had just opened”.They had been open 45 minutes and if you can’t take a 100$ bill when you open on Memorial Day weekend, you should just close the doors.

Store is in shambles. I as well as 20-35 other customers were walking around the store trying to find an associate but to no avail. I went in for 3-5 items, left with 0 as the line (10-15 people) was only being served by 1 cashier. 2 other employees were seen beyond the "no entry" signs, but never showed face.The manager, no where to be found. Apparently in an interview. Great, but couldn't she wait till after the rush.......?I'll still hold back, only because I can't get the items I need anywhere else really inside hendo.

I had received a pair of Underarmor sweat pants from my son for Christmas. He had gotten me a size too big so I went in to exchange them for a smaller size. It was a heavy set man who was the cashier and one woman checking out . It took ten minutes for this guy to ring up like two items and then take her payment all the while she had a kid who was yelling and screaming the entire time.Then when I walked up, I wasn’t even greeted with a simple “hello or May I help you”So I asked the man if I could exchange the sweatpants for another size and got a hard no.I asked him why not? The tags where still intact and nothing was wrong with them.He then goes on to say , “ No refunds or exchanges without a receipt !” Short and couldn’t even make eye contact with me.I then said but these tags are still on them and that my son had gotten them for me for Christmas. It was just the wrong size.Again he said “NO!! , without a receipt.I then said to him that was ridiculous because I wanted a smaller size not money back !!That was the second time I’ve been there and that was the last. I went there several years ago only to find overly priced items and hardly saw any customers there both times.How is this store still in business?

I've always loved sporting goods stores like this. Prices are usually good and they always have sales.My only gripe is having to fill out 2 to 3 more packs of paperwork in order to buy firearms of ANY KIND. I get it, better safe then sorry, but I got my CWP so I can bypass all the dumb paperwork. A store that sells ONLY GUNS only makes you fill out the same initial paperwork that you always do. In order to get the background check.Smells like FREEDOM to me lol.
