We love this place-great ice cream with a wide selection of flavors, tasty smoothies with potential healthy additions, and a really nice atmosphere. What’s more, the place offers convenient parking right in front, which is great when you’re rushing with a bunch of children :-)

Very good ice cream. They have your usual flavors, but also a bunch of unique flavors that my family and I tried. Both times we went, there was a line. But the line moved fairly quickly. The employees are all very friendly.

My first visit to Happy Belly ice cream shop and my belly was definitely HAPPY!!I had the Brownie Bomb! It was delicious. I had it with mint chocolate chip ice cream instead of the chocolate. It was good till the last drop. The young staff of ladies were pleasant, friendly and efficient. I recommend this place and will definitely visit again.

This is a great place to stop for something cold whether it's ice cream, milkshakes or smoothies. The choices are numerous and they have the counter where they have the food separated well from the customers. They do sell t-shirts and also have quite a candy selection as well as drinks in the fridge by the door for purchase. We had smoothies and they were delicious! They have screened in seating outdoors which has a nice breeze. Great place to stop on a hot day and will be back!

I love when an establishment can hold true to its name. Happy Belly Ice Cream did exactly that. I now have a happy belly after trying the 'Gooman' smoothie with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Yum yum! I look forward to going back several more times throughout our stay on Hatteras. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The facility was very clean. In addition to the ice cream there was a lot of other options and candy to choose from. Saw some packs of Big League Chew which took me back to some great baseball days as a kid. Highly recommended you stop here. Well done. 5 stars.

Staying in Hatteras for spring break after dinner one night the family wanted to go get some ice cream. Driving around town we saw this little ice cream shop so we decided that we would go give it a try. We rolled up around 8 p.m. on a Thursday night and there were two young ladies working inside. We rolled in with a crew of seven and kind of filled up the joint since there were no other people there. They had about 14 or 16 flavors you could choose from and with some unique flavors. They let all of us try a couple of different ones with those little tiny spoons so we can find something that we liked. We got a number of different waffle cones, one of my niece's got a shake and then my wife got a banana split. Everything we're great portions the Banana Split was humongous they put a cherry on top but when our kids tried to swipe it we ask them if we could get a few more and they gave us four or five extra cherries so we all can have one, which was very sweet of the girl. Really dig the logo of the place. Inside they have quite a large of selection of merchandise you can purchase from stickers two hoodies and t-shirts. They also have a small candy store with all kinds of different Willy Wonka type goodies you could get. They have an outdoor seating area kind of enclosed Deck with some stools and tables and they're also the peered to be a number of picnic tables outside. We're only in town for another day or so but I'm sure we'll go back and get some more ice cream from them it was very delicious!

This place has dairy free options. Today they had mango sorbet and amaretto almond. I tried both and they were very good! I was pleased to see that someone had an actual dairy free sorbet. They had three kinds of cones to pick from: cake, sugar, and waffle. They had several flavors of ice cream and a nice little shop for candy, drinks, and souvenirs.Update: Dairy-free option over Memorial Day weekend. Yay for wild berry sorbet!

The crazy coconut sundae was amazing, fresh coconut, chocolate, vanilla wafers and the coconut ice-cream with nuts worked really well together. The strawberry delight smoothie was like your average smoothie, but tasted fresh.

Yum! Awesome local icecream shop. The line was super long and it was packed both inside and out. The icecream was pretty good, but I’m giving it 4 stars because there were not that many fillings (only a few pieces of cookie dough in my scoop). Increase your icecream to toppings ratio please!:)

Great local place with some really cool art work and cool designs for a tatoo. It's not the artsy weird stuff either. They have good all around ice cream choices ya want. The sundaes are real sundaes too.

This was our first visit to Happy Belly, and we loved it. Line was out the door but moved quickly. Their sundaes are delicious! We visited again later in the week for milkshakes and smoothies, which were also delicious.

Really enjoyed my shake from Happy Belly Ice Cream. My daughter also really enjoyed her ice cream cone! The staff was quite efficient and moved a large line in no time! Visited during the COVID outbreak, but it was good to see everyone in masks!! They had only 10 people in the store at any given time. Glad we stopped! Highly recommended if you are in the Hatteras or Frisco area!

After several years of vacationing to the Hatteras village area and supporting this business I will no longer be supporting it after my most recent visit.I am a K9 Handler handling a 5 month old German shepherd Service dog in training, we decided to take him to Happy Belly so we could work on leash training, socialization, and commands, while indulging into some ice cream. We decided to have him wear his trainer collar and leave his vest at home.Upon arrival the line was out the door, however we waited patiently and made small talk with other friendly customers whom commended us on his excellent behavior and temperament at such a young age.Once we entered the building the self closing door closed on my dogs tail causing him to Yelp from pain. Once the women serving ice cream heard the Yelp, me and my fiancé were singled in front of the 20 or so other people in the store.We were scolded for having a pet in their establishment, then asked what the service dog was for, and if he was certified. We answered stating that he was not yet certified however I that I am a handler working to get the dog to his certification. Despite the response we were told to go outside, which I did because after all there was no reason to make a scene.Update:I understand your policy, however the way we were treated was not appropriate. Their is not excuse for the way I was talked to and treated.

Checked out this popular place while visiting Hatteras Island. Fun vibe with helpful friendly staff.Lots of good places to sit (especially the wrap around covered porch) and watch the sunset while eating an ice cream cone! I had blueberry crumble, which was very creamy with lots of blueberries and chunks of "crumble." My daughter had yummy moose tracks in a waffle cone.Sorry I couldn't add any photos of ice cream ... we were too busy enjoying it to remember to take a photo!

OMG this ice cream is the bomb! Lol really this place is good. The line was out the door but well worth the wait to get it. Their prices are normal to me for what you get. My husband and son had the mint chocolate ice cream and both have said how good it was. We will definitely be back on our next visit. Highly recommend Happy Belly Ice Cream!

My family and I have been coming down to Hatteras for more than 10 years and we make a stop, if not multiple stops to the Happy Belly every year. Ice cream is SO GOOD. Scoops are usually gigantic too. It’s pretty busy when we go but all the workers are always on their game. We always have a happy belly when we leave!!! (:

Every year when we come to Hatteras, we come get Ice cream at Happy Belly. So far, the Ice cream has been the best. Even though we came in a large group,we all we able to sit in the outdoor seating and would definitely recommend this place to anyone who wants good Ice cream.

This place does not have ample outside lighting. I was very concerned for the number of children milling about in the parking lot. The line was out the door and at one time over thirty people were waiting! The darkness made the line confusing, and some folks almost fought about where the line ended. The porch where patrons sit to enjoy their ice cream is also very dark, so dark that it's difficult to see the trash receptacle. The ice cream is delicious, but improvement in the facility is needed.

I'm not happy with the rushed service I received this evening. The girls were very busy and seemed overwhelmed. I ordered the brownie 3 scoop sundae.I meant to say no walnuts but planned on eating around them. There were SO many walnuts that I couldn't. The ice cream seemed to be so melted that it turned to melted soup in no time. When I went to ask for something else, the girl was going to charge me again. I had already paid $8. I THEN noticed that the chocolate ice cream used for my sundae is left out in a chair. So I ended up leaving with a unhappy belly 🙁Reading other reviews for this place and it seems as if the owner always has some sort of excuse to dismiss the complaints when responding to the customer reviews. Stop making excuses and make things right.
