Great Dollar General store. There is a self checkout, but also a cashier available. Most items you need are available in the store. They also have seasonal products such as Potting soil during planting season, Christmas Decorations, Easter Items, back to school items, and beach items. If you are visiting here and forgot something, they probably have a replacement. They also have food items for your meals.

This Dollar General has the most beautiful view from the parking lot to the Cape Lookout Lighthouse. There is a magnificent old tree along the sight line to the lighthouse as well. It's worth it to go just for that some days 😃. The folks at this DG are always kind and helpful. I almost always find what I need here. Way to go, y'all, keep up the good work!

Went to the one that's on Harkers island nc. Staff are always so friendly and helpful and if you meet the head manager then you know why. He makes a point to greet his customers and the place is always so clean and organized. It's a joy to shop in that type of atmosphere and organization.

A great experience! We love our local Dollar General stores! This one, on Harkers island is our new favorite! The employees are friendly, and great to help when we cant find something. Going out of their way to help. The parking lot entrance has a long open view before you pull out into traffic. And the view from the parking lot😮 wow! You can see Cape Lookout lighthouse and Shackleford island... Home to the wild ponies! Its perfect!

Wow!! So much variety for little Harkers Island. Great one-stop-shop for pretty much anything random you need. Lots of food and drinks and home items. No fresh meats or fruits and veggies, but it's a dollar general, not a grocery store!

This Dollar General is one of the cleanest, well stocked, I've shopped at!! The staff are AWESOME!! They say hello when you go in, and make sure you found everything you need!

The dollar general on highway 70 is the worst dollar general ever I've see roaches in their coolers... They told me not to come back to the store about a year ago.. found out the manager was talking about me to customers and other businesses bosses... She has no business talking about me to any one unless I put dollar general down as a reference on an application for a job... I've never worked for the corporation of dollar general so she was completely worng for her to talk to a boss at another job I was going to put an application in for. Only way she had the right to do that was if I put DG down as a reference for the job I was putting in for.. dollar general anywhere else besides on highway 70 is the place to go... The on in harkers island is clean and the people there are very respectful.. should not step foot in the one in Otway.. the manager is known for selling drugs...
