They take in strays and unwanted puppies,dogs,cats and kittens. Jackie Stanley is amazing with animals. So sad they will be closing down on December 31,2023. It's a NO KILL SHELTER. They will try and make sure all the fur babies there are well taking care of and try and find them a good home.

We adopted 2 dogs through this rescue. We met with 2 different volunteers, one who came to our house for a home check & one who was there when we did the adoption. Both ladies were very nice and helped us find a dog for my son to call his own, and another for my daughter (we ended up with 2 sibling pups). The ladies at this rescue work really hard and don't seem to have enough help. I filled out an application online, Instead of just calling them to ask about a certain dog. Keep in mind this is run by volunteers, and they are doing the best they can. I would definitely use them again and recommend them to others.

Been trying to adopt, but, no answers or anything from these people.Update: They finally got back to us and we were able to get one of the animals we wanted within 3 days. The process takes much longer than when you used to be able to go to the pound and just get anything you wanted right then. They screen the pets and people interested in them to make sure the animal goes to a good place for them.

We adopted our wonderful dog from there. Process was very simple, professional and kept us well informed. Very courteous and accomadating. We drove from out of state to meet and bring our dog home. Highly recommend and if we ever adopt again, we will surely return.

I called looking to adopt a dog whoever answered the phone was super rude they hung up on me and didn't really seem like they were looking to adopt out any dogs. At one point I was going to volunteer to help them after that encounter I will be looking for other rescue centers outside of the community that I live in which sucks because we have a lot of animals that could use love and attention and affection right here at my county but because of that experience it has deterred me to not do it.

This is a no kill shelter that carefully screens potential adopters prior to letting one of their precious fold go to the home. They also work with other shelters to move certain breeds to areas where they are more likely to find a home. They are compassionate, caring individuals.

For several months i have been in search of a small dog for my mother. Because i live here in halifax this one keeps coming up and i have found a dog or two i wanted from here. The problem is nobody ever answers the phone or replies to emails. Kinda hard to adopt a dog if the people dont answer. Also pretty hard to do what they promised to do fornthe dogs and cats with as little interest as they seem to have in doing so.

Wonderful people who truly care about the animals in their care. The adoption process may seem long, but it’s because they want the animals to go to good homes. I recommend getting in contact with them if you are interested in adopting.

These volunteers put their heart and soul into this and sacrifice their time every day to back it up. 365 days a year they clean kennels and work with abandoned animals. They make every dollar given stretch to help more animals. Amazing!!

Truly hard to get in touch with them about their animals. I put in an application for a dog on their site 2 weeks after my first inquiry about the pooch and didn't hear anything for several weeks. After sending more emails I get a response saying I was denied because the dog needed to have an experienced handler, for which I am and that the dog could be the only dog, which went against everything they had listed about this dog. I seriously question if they are sincerely looking for home for animals in their care. It took weeks and weeks to get them to respond, and once they did they denied the adoption based on things that basically are incorrect by their own statements about the dog and also didn't check my experience with the breed. Something very strange when it pretty much takes an act of Congress to get them to even talk to a potential adopter. Not sure of what is going on but something isn't right. I certainly hope that I am an isolated incident. There are too many animals needing loving homes for it to be this way.
