Love this place! I have been wanting to visit for many years now after reading about the connection with one of my heroes, Charlie Daniels. Took the bike down and, after taking a few pictures, wandered inside. Upon opening the door, I was instantly taken back to the old country hardware and general stores in the small mountain towns where I grew up in my beloved mountains of western North Carolina. The mixed smell of feed and grains along with other long forgotten "hardware fragrances" took me back to Yancey Builders Supply in Burnsville, where my grandmother and I would go to pick up essentials that were needed in the garden and for the house and barn. This store is perfect. Shelves were crammed full but orderly. A thin layer of dust in some areas. Men's suspenders, cast iron cook ware, bird feed, electrical conduit, chicken wire. It's all here. If you can't find it here, you don't need it. Great selection of boots, jeans, and bib overalls, and my most favorite, the pocket knife display. There were so many trips growing up to the old hardware store where I'd have my eye on a new knife. I didn't have the money to buy one. My grandmother didn't see the need when I had a good sharp one in my pocket and a couple more at the house. I enjoyed my knives and still do. On this trip, though, since I'm the adult, I slipped a brand new Case XX Trapper in my pocket. I will be back!

This is the place to go for boots, hats, winter coats, feed or deer corn. Not to mention hardware, a cold drink, pocket knife or cheese & crackers! They also have the best barbecue sauce on the shelf!

Fantastic country store for whatever you may need or didn't know you needed! Variety at it's finest & if you need work boots, Carhartt gear, or work attire, look no further! Stop on in for it's a General Store on steroids! Gem of Gulf, NC!

This is an amazing county store with a little bit of everything! If you're anywhere near by it is worth a visit just to wander around and soak it all in. ... It's worth a visit even if you're no where near by. :) Also if you're looking for some solid work clothes they have a huge selection of Carhartt jackets, pants, overalls, etc.

They had some pretty cool stuff in this place and it's like a very nostalgic look and feel. I really like them having Carhartt brand stuff and also they had a good selection of knives. They have basic hardware for just about anything. Been a little bit of everything. It's a good general store.

Good selection of Carhartt stuff. Little high on prices. Not very friendly like you would expect from a country store. They take the $5 minimum very serious on credt/debit purchases even if you've already spent hundreds with them. Could definitely use some improving on the Old Country store feel.

Nice little country store, the staff was more than friendly but one of employees particularly stand out to me. She went above and beyond answering my questions. She was extremely polite and very professional during my visit. Can't remember her name, heavy set lady older age, she definitely should be used as an example of professional courtesy .

This place has a little bit of everything you need if you live a way from the city, from home repairs to cowboy boots they have it, if you need something to fix the light in the closet, or something to fix the sink, or if you need a pair of pants or a new pair of justin boots they got it, this place is amazing.

Great place. Great people. I have been going there for years. They have a little bit of everything. One of the best places to find you a good pair of boots and a good knife and much more. Just a good ol country store. I left my debit card on the counter, Kevin made sure I got it back. Very trustworthy folks!!!!!!!

Great place to visit! I go here for boots but end up looking and buying other stuff. They carry many different brands of boots and have wide sizes. Everything thing from pocket knives, hoop cheese to Carhartt coveralls. Great place!

From the front of the store it would not look like they would have much to offer. But they have a bigger selection of Carhartt apparel them anywhere else I know and a bigger selection of work boots then any shoe store in a big city. And lots of other stuff. I am currently in Greensboro and riding an hour out of my way down to this place to get me some new work boots.

Love all the variety..tripped down the step I side the store...I mentioned it to clerk .didn't seem concerned. Hurt my back as I missed the step..but clerk didn't seem concerned...mentioned someone should @least make concrete ramp..said it'd take a lot if concrete

Love this place, it's a old country store, it's a hardware store and it's a place to find Carhartt apparel and boots , seeds , outdoorcooking supply's like Blackstone grills, turkey fryers, LARGE aluminum pots, canning supply's.Pocket knives of all major brands.I could go on but, it's making me want to go back and take another look around.

This place is AWESOME for country attire. Boots, carhart, etc..down home friendly atmosphere. They even sell hoop cheese!!! Reasonable prices! Will be going back & have been for going on 10 yrs now!
