My recent visit to the Petco on Wendover was a journey of contrasts, wrapped in the clean, well-organized aisles of a store that takes pride in its presentation. From the moment I stepped in, the cleanliness and layout struck me as not just appealing but thoughtfully designed, making the chore of shopping for dog food less of a chore and more of an exploration.The array of dog food options was impressive, showcasing a variety that catered to every conceivable preference and dietary need. Among the shelves brimming with familiar brands, a new contender caught my eye, sparking curiosity about its origin and whether it was a Petco exclusive.This curiosity led me to seek assistance from a Petco employee, who was making his way to the back of the store. With a gentle approach, I inquired about the new brand, only to be met with a response so jarringly rude it could only be described as a shock to the system. The gentleman, identifiable by his bandana and glasses, sharply rebuked me with a disdain that seemed wholly unwarranted, citing his break time as if it were obvious to all. This abrupt encounter left me reeling, questioning the interaction and my place in it, as I hastened away to avoid escalating an already uncomfortable situation.The redeeming grace of my visit came at the front register, where a different face of Petco emerged. This employee was the epitome of customer service, greeting me with warmth, addressing my query about the dog food brand, and extending a sincere apology for her coworker's behavior. Her assurance that such rudeness was far from the Petco standard offered a comforting end to an otherwise disheartening experience.In reflection, the visit was a study in contrasts: the environment and product selection were beyond reproach, yet a single interaction cast a shadow over the proceedings. While one employee embodied the professionalism and kindness one hopes for in retail, another served as a stark reminder that a chain is only as strong as its weakest link. Future visitors to Petco on Wendover might do well to relish the store's offerings while remaining cautious of the variable nature of its customer service.

Very nice selection of fish and all the tanks were clean. The guy that worked in this department was very knowledgeable on the Cichlids I was buying and they all fit right into my community which wasn't very large but I didn't lose any fish they are healthy and beautiful. Unlike the competitors which I til this visit always went to, BUT NEVER again this was the best experience I have had buying fish in a few years. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND going here or any other Petco. Much higher quality of everything in my opinion. Even went back to purchase a new glass lid for my aquarium it fit perfect and was a great price!!! If I could give 10 stars I would.

I purchased some fish here the other day. We were not greeted at all as several employees walked by us. I had to go up to a person to ask for some help. After we got the fish proceeded to check out, the cashier was rude as well and didn't even speak or tell us our total. We like the fish we got but will probably find another pet store to shop at.

First time using Petco for grooming. We took our little dog in to get groomed. It was not a pleasant experience at all. I try to be very understanding so maybe the ladies working where just having a little off morning. You only have to be rude to me one time. So we will never go back for grooming again.

Went in excited to get my 5month old puppy’s first grooming and will never return. Walking in all the ladies working in grooming were very rude and agitated with eachother and treated me no better, and the lady that was doing the actual grooming was coughing terribly in a dogs face. This same lady came up front and took a look at my dog and acted like as if he was too much work (mind you he’s a 5month old yorkie with short hair). The whole 10 minutes I was in there was very unprofessional and shocking, I would never feel comfortable leaving my dog in this facility full of staff with mood issues and workers who come in sick.

I've had a cashier completely ignore me from the time I went to step in line to right after swipping my card. Still talking to a co worker and then directing her attention to another customer, but did not acknowledge me at all.

I love this place. I trust them so much with my 3 babies. The grooming staff is excellent and very friendly. They are professional and patient with my babies as they hate going to the groomers. Never been unhappy with them. Petco itself is very clean and the staff very friendly. Great place ❤️

I take my dogs here every 5 weeks to get groomed. Staff is extremely nice and takes good care of the dogs.

Purchased a snow cornsnake from this location a few days ago, and the little guy has been active and social since arriving home in his enclosure. He isn't flighty or skittish and is very handlable.

They were really good with serving customers and making sure we were ready. We brought home this little girl yesterday 😁 so I am changing my review because Luna passed away 4 days. 4 DAYS after we had gotten her so I will not be buying from Petco again.

Maria is AMAZING!!!!! My Baby always comes home looking and smelling great. I posted this picture because on this occasion she went above and beyond to match Jordyn's bows to my school colors because I told her we were leaving for my graduation. The best part is, I didn't even tell her the colors, so she had to look them up herself. I just love Maria!!!! ❤

Many years ago, we bought four containers of clumping litter, and we have returned for refills on a regular basis. The price is great, and we aren't sending litter packaging to recycling or the landfill. Petco is the only pet supplier that we have found to offer this wonderful service!

Well, i ended up leaving before purchasing the $145 worth of dog food/treats. I had several bags of treats and food and when I was checking out, the cashier asked if I wanted a bag to put them in. I replied "yes plz" and i was informed that would cost $0.10 for the bag. I was taken a back and confused. Not that ten cents is a big deal but I asked them to explain this to me. The cashier said that the bags cost the company 8 cents so they are now charging the customers if they want or need a bag. I told them they could keep the stuff and I would not be back. The fact that they would make a profit on the bags and charge customers. I just don't get it. I hope the $0.10 was worth losing a good customer and a transaction of $145. It's the principle here for me.

My black lab has been having some food sensitivities and keeps getting diarrhea from other foods I have tried. I went here and talked to one of the staff members who was so kind and knowledgeable about if it could be a grain allergy and he told to try whole hearted easy digestive food and it has been so wonderful! She has started gaining weight again and not been sick at all! And he even helped me find some treats that she can have as well!

PetCo Grooming, Rave Review: our German Shepherd LOVES Angie (Wendover, Greensboro, NC location). She does the best, gentle, love-filled groom on my 90lb baby (he's 2). Also, great price! $63 for shampoo/ condition, teeth brush, nail grind, and adorable bandanna. Our big boy looks amazing and smells better. Thanks Angie for your amazing work and pampering our big baby!
